WOYWW #354

Good Morning all. I hope everyone is having a good start to the day. As usual, Wednesday means time for our Show & Tell, Meet & Greet over at Julias place, The Stamping Ground. Today finds me doing things with some of the pieces I stencilled on Sunday & Monday. I'd been punching out some butterflies, from glitter paper, to go on the butterfly tree stencil. Sunday  I went to a local craft store, Pink Tulip, along with Marg, Silvercrafter, to see a demo by Lucy Ellis of Sweet Poppy Stencils. It was a most enjoyable couple of hours, and much was spent, and much was learnt. I've done a post about it below this one, and if you have stencils, and get any problems, it's well worth you popping back when you get time, to read it, as I've included all the excellent tips and advice Lucy shared with us.
Something I forgot last week, was that the week previous to that, I'd had my first CT scan since my surgery. Last Thursday we had a meeting with the surgeon, Mr Patel, and the good news is that the scan was all clear. I get a scan every 6 months, for two years, then every 12 months for three years, before they declare me totally clear. But for now, all is good.
These are on another desk drying out. Some Holly Wreath stencils, and some Mistletoe Wreath ones. The Holly ones have had red acrylic gems added, the Mistletoe ones have half pearls. When I blog them, I will try to get better pictures! Well, that's me for this week, I'll see you all later.

Always wanted to go to one of those workshops at Pink Tulip but haven't done anything about it as I thought I wouldn't know anyone there ..... maybe we could arrange something and then I'll have words with my chauffeur!!
Take care and have a good week

Have read your previous post as well - lots of really good tips.
Take care. God bless.

Wow, I love your wreath stencils - they are fabulous and look so gorgeous in the metallic glittery colours. The butterfly tree is beautiful too and I love the little glittery butterflies. I've also just visited your post below - thank you so much for sharing the tips on stencilling, I am a very messy stenciller and will definitely be looking out for stencil tape- probably in a few minutes from now! I'm also off to find a spreader as I currently use a palette knife and about 15 to 20 moves each time!
I am so pleased you had good news from your scan, that's fantastic. I hope you have a great week, although after last weeks news you can't really top that can you!

Loving the stencil tutorial from your earlier post. I have seen this technique before and I do think it works better than just laying the stencil down with a bit of tape and flopping the paste anywhere... so thanks for the reminder. Thank you so much for the visit to mine too. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 22

Oh, Shaz, that's completely marvelous news about the scan -- so, so glad to hear it! Love your butterfly trees and gorgeous glittery wreaths and will definitely hop to the post below to read more.

Yes, regarding your comment on my post, I do have quite a big pile of "scraps" from the die cutting. Much of it will get tossed and I'm thinking I must get a Xyron machine to be able to use the lovely delicate bits I want to keep --- I'll just have to put them in a sandwich bag for now. Happy WOYWW!

Hi Shaz Wonderful news about your scan. Gosh you'll be finished all of your Christmas cards by Easter! LOL
I'm just going to scroll down and read your post on stencils. I always enjoy watching demos and am always excited to try new techniques but they don't always turn out right. They make it look so easy. Cardio Cards stamps are my nemisis!
Have a happy week

Such good news from Mr Patel, you have made such a marvellous recovery and the all clear must be th cherry on top of the icing.
I only do a couple of shows these days and they are only really small ones Shaz. But who knows, I may venture further afield one of these days on a holiday or something and then ... who knows ...
Such a lot to be thankful for with Julia having this brainchild.
Hugs and thanks to you for visiting me earlier - Neet 18 (I think) xx

Oh Shaz, I can't tell you how delighted I am to hear your scan results! Somehow it makes all the hardship and sufferings of the past 18 months+ worthwhile, to be declared cancer free at last! I'm not sure when my next one will be, but I'm seeing the oncologist in June.

I love what you've done with your stencils and the butterflies. I am amazed at your productivity. Mine seems to be on the back burner again at the moment, what with sorting the sitting room and music practice. I've got a lot of cooking to do too! I'm still quite behind with things after our recent busy time and get too tired to bother to do anything and have to crash out periodically.

Thank you for your lovely comment. I don't find my enthusiasm and joie de vivre ever depart for long and I only have to scratch the surface to get them back as a rule. Life is so full of things to be thankful for, and now I don't even have Mum in the house to drag me down at every opportunity lol!

Have a great week and I hope the 2 of you can celerbrate your cancer free status in style.

Hugs to you both,
Shoshi x
