Another week gone by, another Wednesday here. Where is this year going already? Barely a week until we're in April, this weekend is Easter, AND we put the clocks forward. Yes, I'm telling you now. Yes, I'll be reminding people all the way up till Saturday. Yes, I will completely forget about it Saturday evening, and quite possibly get half way through Sunday before realising I'm in my own little time zone. Happens every year. I'm assuming you've all checked in with our lovely Lady of Deskiness, Julia, (It's a word, because I say so), over at The Stamping Ground.
A lot of desk messiness here, but it has actually got a purpose. I've just been putting DST on the back of all the images so I can start matting them up to mount onto cards. There have been quite a few cards made from the Sweet Poppy stencils, over the last week, mostly posted below this one. There are about 8 more Christmas images there, so that'll be more for my stash, and will be posted up later in the week. The white on black stencilling were versions I did of two stencils in black on white- Leafy Flower, which is in one of the earlier posts, and another one called Black Orchid, which is this one.
I wanted to try them out in black and white versions.
They both make quite a large image- they were both mounted onto a folded sheet of A4 card. The Black Orchid one here was just matted onto black, then white cardstock first. By the way, I used Black Glossy stencil paste, then sprinkled it with Black glitter before it dried.
I added the sentiment from a sheet of small black birthday greeting peel offs.
Don't know if you can see the glitter better on this one? Love this image, and can see a lot of potential cards being made from it.I'm hoping that by working fairly quickly, I should be able to glitter the flowers and leaves different colours. So thats my desk for today, quite possibly a few more of those images will have been transformed into cards by tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday folks.
PS. I had an appointment sent through last Thursday, to see the Oncologist at the QE on Friday! Nothing like short notice, is there? Anyway, appointment was for midday, finally got to see someone at 2.00pm- why do they make so many short appointments, when they must know with this subject, most people will take more than 10 or 15 minutes to see? Anyway, the decision is, that as I had two rounds of Chemo before my surgery, that would have got any nasties in my system, so they will just be monitoring me through frequent checks. The mop- up chemo usually comes into play because, like our Shoshi, it's generally surgery first, so then they do the chemo to make sure nothing escapes.I was pretty much expecting that would be the route taken, as Chemo damages healthy cells as well as bad ones, so I didn't expect they'd bother.

You put m to shame with all your craftiness. Love the various stencils you have used - I really should get some stencilling done as it is so effective and pleasant to do. The new stencil is gorgeous, she does some beauties doesn't she.
I think I read it right, you don't have to have any more chemo - so pleased to read that.
Hugs, Neet 12 xx
Ahhhh love these card bases, Shaz, and WOW!!!! on that glittery black and white, it is wonderful. Beautyf work, indeed.
Re Drs appointment, maybe because they start late too the time delay
When I go to Sydney Drs, a big city clinic, I always have the first appointment but still invariably wait an hour before going in. Never have worked it out.
Glad you're travelling along well... off to peek below.
Thanks so much for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #8

Looks like you've been doing a fab job with your stencilling. Beautiful. Glad that your appointment went well, even if you had to wait. Sending continuing healthy vibes to you. Cara x
I am doing a very quick whistle stop tour of my fav blogs in my lunch break today. It's pretty manic returning the bungalow to a little nearer normality for when our Dutch friends arrive tomorrow so please forgive me that it is such a quick visit.
I really love your cards Shaz...and all the more so cos you are now well enough to enjoy making them.
Hugs,

lovely cards. And i'm guessing they schedule so many patients so they can earn more? Happy WOYWW Vicky #9
Stunning black orchids Shaz. Hope that your check up went well - they do like to make you wait in these hospitals don't they. x Jo
Good news about your check-up!
The card is beautiful - it looks very sparkly though it is hard to capture in a photo.
The clocks - arrgghh - we've already done that here in Michigan. We're usually two weeks off yours. It really confuses me as I have to figure out what time to Skype/phone Mum without being off on our usual time. I'll be so glad when you hop forward so I don't have to figure it out! I was so thankful I wasn't working this year. In the past I used to get up right when the clocks changed. That was horrible.
Have a great week

The black orchid stencil is stunning and I love the effect of the black glitter. But most of all I am drooling over that floral leafy stencil on your table next to the orchid - that is just sooooooo gorgeous! Very good news about not having to have more chemo, I'm glad you are doing well.
Have a great week,

SO looking forward to the clocks changing :) Your card toppers are lovely. Thanks for the visit earlier today - I am only just getting round to hoppingxx Soojay xx
The stencilling is gorgeous! I always end up with paste squishing under the stencil and spoiling the image. Yours look so lovely and crisp - do you have a special technique? Ali #68
You can see the glitter!! That hardly ever happens but you caught it well. Those cards are gorgeous, I really love the butterfly tree, that's so pretty but also the cards on black....very elegant 💕

Shaz, what fabulous stuff on your desk, I love working with stencils too. That black and white card is so special, beautifully made, Thanks for sharing that, and thanks for sharing your good news from the hospital, very encouraging.
Thanks for visiting my desk and your nice remarks, and you will be pleased to hear that the Christmas stuff is all neatly packed away back into the cupboard and the surface is well scattered with craft stuff once again.

Fabulous cards - so very elegant.
Glad that you got some positives from your hospital appointment too!
Sorry for being late visiting and thanks for visiting my blog earlier!
Gorgeous projects there. I love the black-and-white. I'm glad you're getting on the other side of the health issues. Have a great weekend.
Wow, you have some beautiful cards there. I love the stencil but I've never heard of stencil glue. I suppose it does not run underneath the stencil. And that's how you get such a neat image. Very nice.
I will email you as soon as I get home. Thanks for the offer.
Thanks for visiting and wishing you and Doug a great easter weekend.
Lisca
Hi Shaz, What beautiful images you've made, love the white on black and your stencilling is so perfect! They will make gorgeous cards. So glad to hear you don't have to have more chemo :o) Have a great weekend. Annie C #25
So pleased to hear that your checkup went well, even though late.
My thoughts are that Drs appts are always running late cos they give time to those patients that need it. I usually breeze in and out so that that makes up for it!! lol
Love that black orchid card.
Have a crafting Easter (if you can!)
Take care
