WOYWW #510, or The Not Much Happening Edition.

Well, a pretty empty desk this week. Finished making a big batch of Strip cards, and I'm done with that for a while. Couple of posts below this one.
I bought some supplies, a few coloured envelopes. And some Super Smooth Blending Card, from Papermill Direct. They do it in 3 different weights, so I got a pack of each. Recommended by Eileen Godwin, who'd been trying out different ones after getting too varied a result from the Sheena Douglas card.

I'd also been finding that problem, but thought it was just something I was doing, but clearly not.

Decided as well that I'd do some more glitter cards using a Medallion stamp I've had for years.
These were stamped in Staz-on, and it's just not one of my favourite inks. Even with the Stamp Platform, results weren't as crisp as I'd like, and I've had to do some filling in with a Micron pen.

So I've done another batch with Archival Black, and they are definitely a better image. It doesn't dry as quickly as Staz-on, but it will if given some time.

I shall leave them overnight to make sure they're dry, then glittering will commence.

And that really is it for me.

One mention for Visible Image, anyone wanting any of their stamps & stencils, they have a 20% discount until Sunday, use code INKY at the checkout.

Which just leaves......And Finally.......

It's important to support your local craft store!

Popping over to Julias place, The Stamping Ground, to leave my link, and come visiting.

I may have left a craft store empty handed once Shaz, but it is very unusual lol. Hope you are soon back up the craft rankings where you belong. You'll probably overtake me today anyway. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Morning Shaz. Left a craft store empty-handed? Possibly... but only very rarely! I like the stamp - and yes, the first page did seem to give some varied results, didn't it. Enjoy glittering the second page.
Take care. God bless.

I'm not a fan of stazOn either Shaz but it does the job for some project's, look forward to seeing those mandala's when given their bling. Not sure what the buzz is about blog ranking's but I've seen it mentioned on a few blogs yesterday and today> I wouldn't know where to start with it all.
It's a hard call to make to leave a craft store empty handed, temptation would win hands down haa haa!!

Happy WOYWW. I look forward to seeing those glitter cards finished. In my imagination they are stunning! Yes, I regularly walk away from a craft store empty handed. I look at things, get tempted, then remember that I want an emptier craft room (and want my credit card paid off as soon as possible) and rarely do any crafting, and then put it down and walk out. Very satisfying. I just remember the mantra - "Do not use your home as a store". Ali x #9

I like that stamp very much - when it's glittered, it'll look very Art Deco! The And Finally made me laugh, though I can be quite strict with myself in craft shops, I don't always give in to temptation!

Thanks for those wise words at the end Shaz! Lovely to see what you are working on although I have evidence of a stage further on - thank you so much for my lovely birthday card. A real treat to receive.

What a lovely medallion stamp, it will look great glittered. I have to agree with you about Stazon - I only use them when I absolutely have to as they are so splodgy. We used to have a Papermill shop near us but it closed down and I so miss not being able to go in a and fill up a box from a wonderful array of coloured and textured card and paper. I haven't got round to looking online for them but perhaps I should, although the whole shopping experience won't be anywhere near as enjoyable as it used to be!
Have a great week,

I do love Stazon myself but that's because I only use stamping in my art journals on top of all the paint/mess/layers... I do need to buy a refill though.. and now that I live in the town centre, the craft store is only a few steps away. I keep postponing to go there though 'cause I don't have much budget. I need all the self-control I can get to go in there and 'just' buy the refill ink. Really, I do live on a dangerous spot in town ;) Happy woyww and a big hug from stormy Holland. Marit #19

I dont like Stazon ink either - very frustrating results all round. In answer to your question about the header of my blog - it is Stanage Edge and is about a 10 minute drive from our house. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week. With love and God Bless. Caro x (#17)

The only thing I like about season is the smell. Will check out paper mill as I was looking for some card things evening and could only find glossy. Enjoy your glittering x

No can't remember ever leaving a craft store empty handed though I might have been to the Range and forced myself not to go round the crafty stuff cos we had gone for dog stuff but it's very hard. After all that card making I think you deserve a rest. Have a great woyww, Angela x15x

The medallion stampis a nice one, all that glitttering will be awesome! It’s my opinion that Tsukineko haven’t quite perfected the Stazon.. it’s a great ink pad idea, but the alcohol part evaporates so quickly and then the pad is well, not dry, but not inky enough for good use. Frustrating. I think like the white and Gild, they should cave in and just sell a re-inker with each pad! Still this may well not be your experience at all!! Have fun with the glittering, you are so much more patient than me!

HI Shaz, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your medallion stamping - I think I have a wood mounted medallion stamp I bought years ago after being impressed by a demo, but can't remember what they did with it now! I don't hugely rate the Sheena Douglass card either, not for the kinds of things I want to do anyway, and it's not my favourite shade of white either (if that doesn't sound daft!). Have a great week :o) Annie C #21

Hi Shaz, sorry for the late visit. I'm still at the experimenting stage with inks (hence my wet ink problem, which Neet's idea of clear embossing powder and heat gun worked). I really need to make a note of what ink works with what card. Hmm, I can't recall leaving a craft shop empty handed lol ... Have a lovely week Heather x #24
