WOYWW #509- The Ouch Edition

Ouch, because I seem to have Sciatica. On the upside, the bonus is that it must be on my left side, as I'm not getting the pain down my leg, which I wouldn't feel that side thanks to the nerve damage. On the downside, my back hurts like hell. But, I'm still here, linking up at Julias place, The Stamping Ground, for another week of desk sharing. If you're new to this, just follow the link to Julias, she has all the info there.
Shot of my desk in mid-create. Making cards using those strips from last week. I liked the golds/brown version so much, I'm duplicating it in a red/black mix.  I might do a more in different colours, I reckon they'd be good masculine cards. And look! I did Pink!!!!

The desk is looking extremely clean, however, the die cutting desk tells a different story. Dies & die cutting scraps everywhere. And the desk behind my desk is a nightmare of discarded stuff.

A load of card strips, envelopes of card scraps, baby wipes. The water bottle isn't a drink, it's for filling my mister bottle/watering the plants!
Annies adorable Crop bear keeping an eye on what I'm up to.😇

The Bauble cards I was making last week are HERE, along with another go at a You Tube video.

And so I'm done. Which just leaves ......And Finally ............

i hope your pain subsides soon! It's good to get a wider view of your craft space though; and there still seems to be lots happening despite the pain. Helen #?

I laughed out loud at your 'and finally' this week Shaz. Good job I was out in the shed so I didn't wake anyone with my cackles. I loved your bauble cards and these latest ones look great too. I must have a go at using up all my strips of lovely card that I can't bear to throw away. Hope the sciatica resolves soon. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Love the striped cards and the orangey brown one in particular.
So sorry to hear you are in pain. I just wish we could both be free from it. Not a clue what mine is and the doctors seem baffled but it is almost three months now and not much different. Fingers crossed, keep doing the exercises.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx

Happy WOYWW. Hope that the pain doesn't take over too much. I love all your striped creations. I did something similar using washi tape. Fantastic that you are on YouTube. Have added your video to my 'Watch Later'. Ali x #11

Ouch indeed Shaz, hope that sciatic makes a swift U turn and leaves you be as soon as it came. Loved seeing your Bauble cards they are so effective and good to see you have stepped outside your comfort zone with the pink, we have to grit our teeth and do these things every now and then!

Hi Shaz, I know how you feel. I started with a sciatic problem in August and couldn't sort it, after much persuasion I went to the acupuncture clinic just before Christmas and haven't looked back. I have to say I cannot believe the difference it made and all I'm getting now is a slight tingle. I just wish I'd gone earlier. Hope you manage to sort yours. I'm trying to brighten my choice of colours in my cards at the moment and love those stripy papers you've used. Great funny too, you know it makes sense! Have a great woyww, Angela x16x

Hi Shaz, sorry to hear you are suffering, hope it clears up soon.
I love the saying, I guess we will all be here forever if that's true.
Funny how much mess is created when you are in the zone, sometimes when I've finished I can't believe how much I've had out of the drawers.

Dear Shaz - I'm impressed you have so little on your desk(s). Will your sciatica respond to exercises? (which I resume you have been taught?).
I went to Stamperama Harrogate last Saturday and had a quick chat with Sweet Poppy Lucy. Your name was mentioned (with lots of love) so I'm sorry if your ears were burning as well as your leg!!
Speaking of Stamperama, have you seen 'Picture This' stamps? I have not stopped playing with the one I got (the terrace) and have ordered more.
Hope you feel better soon.
Love

Love the cards - the stripes are so eye-catching and I really love the gold/brown one. As you say, they'll make great masculine cards. So sorry to hear you have sciatic pain - it can be so debilitating - hubby had it for about three months and walked around with a stick looking like a model for the 'old folk crossing' road sign - it went as quickly as it came luckily. I do hope yours clears up soon, and I'm glad it's not stopping you being crafty!

I lolled at the And Finally today - you and me both kiddo, immortals the pair of us :-D. I'm so sorry to hear about the sciatica though, that definitely isn't funny - I hope it goes as quickly as it came on. Those stripey backgrounds are fab, the Christmas babble cards you made with them are just brilliant!

Hi Shaz!! I bet you were surprised to see me joining in! Your desk looks nice and crafty. The bear Annie made is adorable; no wonder he likes keeping an eye on your crafting! I've enjoyed seeing your cards on Instagram but it's nice to come visit your blog.

I hope your back pain goes away. Sciatica is a pain....

Hugs,
Kay

Sorry to hear you are suffering at the moment. Love the mixture of desks - one neat and tidy and the other more chaotic and especially love the little bear looking on. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week. With love and God Bless. Caro x (#31)

Oh Shaz - I hope that sciatica goes quickly - I know how Annie has suffered and it's a misery. Your stripy cards are fab - so useful too. I think we shall all be round for a long time if our fabric/craft stashes are anything to go by! x Jo

Hi Shaz, I tried to leave a comment earlier but couldn't from my mobile for some reason. I'm so sorry you have sciatica - it's a really painful condition ( I speak from experience) and I hope you recover quickly. At least you are being more creative than me at the moment. As long as you have space to work in it really doesn't matter about the rest. Take care and get better soon. Hugs, Elizabeth x #29

I have dealt with that pesky sciatic nerve and the thing that I found that helps is the chiropractor and exercise to strengthen the back and lots of prayer!! hope it gets better soon!

New studies will prove anything, Shaz! 🤣😂😀
Love this cards made from strips just watched the video, and thought they looked fab, not sure I’d have the patience to cut all the strips up! Let alone attach like that. I heard your comment on glue tape guns, I’ve a love hate relationship with mine, it’s pink like Julia’s .. it needs reloading again an dlawys need to look at video for that, I also seem to have a set of rolls where the tape is on th eworng side then I have to sort that issue out. It is ridgy-didge scotch tape so it makes me cross to do all that gaffing when I laid for proper stuff!
Ah well am very late again, our time zones don’t help it was bedtime when I posted last night.
Happy belated WOYWW,

Goodmorning Shaz, thanks for your visit on my blog yesterday and for figuring out I put the wrong link up at Julia's... djeez, I (almost) always check my links but was a bit tired yesterday and just hit the enter button without checking... anyway, put a new link in the list now. I do love to see your striped cards. I'm not into pinks either but like the card! The brown/yellow/gold is my fave too! Have a great day, love from Holland. Marit #32

I enjoyed watching your video! Those strips are a lot of work! Your die cutting desk looks nice and busy this week, although I don't know how you do it with sciatica pain - I would be bed ridden! My hubby had that a couple of years ago and he got a Tens Machine, which really seemed to help. Thanks for your visit, Lindart #22

Lol lol lol Shaz, love the funny! Haha! I really like your latest cards - really stylish. So sorry to hear you've got sciatica and I hope it clears up soon. Also that you've still got the nerve damage - me too, from the chemo, and I don't see it going away now, just got to live with it, but I always say it's a small price to pay. Thank you for your lovely comment, and I do agree with you - you build a relationship with your surgeon and you do need to like him! Otherwise there's no trust, and it's very hard to communicate with someone you don't get on with. My experience has been so good, with great communication and discussion about options etc. and I really feel my opinion has been taken on board, and all advice and decisions have been made with my fully informed consent - which is the way it should be! I'm sorry to say that I've got toothache - went to the dentist this a.m. and he did a temp. filling in my wisdom tooth but as I suspected, it was also the tooth next to it, and now the anaesthetic has worn off, it still hurts. I've also got laryngitis and have absolutely no voice! Never rains but it pours... but the house is quieter lol!

Happy belated WOYWW,

I’m late! Didn’t post either. I empathize with your sciatica! And the back!! I got a shot in my hip last week to hopefully give some relief. It’s my left hip but my sciatica goes down my right cheek and thigh (all tying up my back). Take it easy, Be sure to share any successful remedies. Hopefully you are already a bit better. Have a good week.
