WOYWW #481

And so here we are, another week closer to the crop, which is now less than 3 weeks away. I've been looking for stuff that needs a new home, and whilst doing that, ended up completely resorting my stamp folders! Not entirely sure how I got there, possibly worked better as a spur of the moment thing, if I'd thought about it first, I don't think I'd have started, lol.
I did have a considerable number of them sorted into folders by manufacturer, but was starting to realise that meant I forgot entirely about some stamps. Like, I had leaves and trees as a subject in one folder, but equally had a lot of both stamps in folders by manufacturer, so if I was looking for a tree, they'd get missed. So now, apart from Tim, who is now up to 3 folders(!),  Lavinia stamps and Stampscapes, they are all stored by theme. 27 folders of stamps, and 4 folders of Christmas stamps. I have about 30 wood mounted stamps, all fairly large, so they've not been unmounted. Then there's an A4 Really Useful Box of Visible Image stamps, and a smaller box of Card-io/Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.  At least now, when I've moved those odd items from that end cube, I have 2 new storage spaces!

Hubby contributed to the stamp collection again, with these from Whimsy stamps.  I'm not normally a 'cute' person, but the bunny upside down in one of the stockings, and cute penguins are a winner. Above is a storage box for blending tools for me to decorate and assemble, and it has a couple of drawers for spare foams etc.

Stamping an insert for our Grandsons birthday card, and it was clear that this stamp wasn't straight. The Happy part is definitely at an angle to Birthday. So, out came the scalpel, I split the two words, and now I can stamp it straight, as well as switch the individual parts with other Birthday stamps.

Bottom was the original stamp, the top one after surgery! The stamp was by Dovecraft, so only cost a couple of quid at most, and it was an easy fix, but really, what ever happened to quality control? I remember once having to throw a wood mounted rubber stamp from a set by Whispers, because they had spelt- in capital letters- Congratulations as 'ConGARTulations.'

Onwards then.

This is Morts card, cut with the Silhouette again. Sorry if it looks a bit blurry, I think the glitter in the cardstock has confused the camera a bit.  I'd already written it and sealed the envelope when I looked at this pic.

I'll blog the card, and the insert, which I jazzed up a bit, later in the week.

Some  Freebie stamps I picked up, with Creative Stamping magazine.

One last thing. You all remember this monstrosity from a couple of weeks ago. Well, one of my commenters, Jackie, Suggested colouring it with Alcohol inks. Brilliant.

Came out a little bit streaky, but at least now I can look at it without cringing.😉

Oh, almost forgot. Had a follow up with my Oncologist on Monday, after the CT scan. Seems the nodule is still shrinking, so all is good. So the radiotherapy I had, which is called SABRE, or Cyberknife, is still working a year later.

And finally................................

Remember to leave your link over at Julias, The Stamping Ground, and we'll all do our best to come visit.
Last thing, are we doing ATC's for the crop, does anyone know?

Fab news from your appointment Shaz. I have most of my stamps sorted by theme too, but must admit that Clarity, Visible Image, IndigoBlu and Sheena Douglass have their own boxes. I only have four boxes of C stamps as well so at least things are well in proportion lol. Look forward to seeing you again at the crop. Sarah #?

Nice work with the stamp surgery - did you have to stare at it and worry for ages before cutting it? I've never regretted it yet, but it always takes me ages to pluck up the courage to make that first cut! Have a happy Wednesday, and I'm so pleased to read your good news about your treatment. That's wonderful news, Shaz, so pleased for you. You have the most impressive stamp collection organisation. Mine is very hit and miss. Can't see my hubby ever contributing to my stamp collection although he's an enabler in so many other ways so I'm not complaining. Love the funny this week. Hugs, Elizabeth X #23

PS: I forgot to mention in my post that I'd tried out the technique I mentioned in my last WOYWW post and written it up in a post on Monday - I think you might be interested.

Hi Shaz, that's great news about your nodule shrinking! Only 3 weeks to the Crop .... wow time flies. I'm looking forward to meeting you and all the other attendees. I've not started on resorting my stamp storage yet. Still got some dies to finish off first. But boy, have you got a lot of stamps! I'll take tips from everyone's blog and Pinterest and come up with something I'm sure. Thanks for stopping by earlier. Hope you find your papyrus paper pad lol. Have a lovely week Heather x #10

Glad to hear the good news from the oncologist. The alcohol ink certainly worked well (although I would have liked the pink gun ... would willingly have swapped for my yellow one). Lots of wonderful organisation today and new goodies too. Well done on the surgery on the happy birthday stamp. Had to laugh at the congartulations story. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good week. Hazel, WOYWW #20 x

I am so pleased to hear your news, Shaz - I hope the nodule shrinks itself right out of existence! You and I have both had our troubles, haven't we! Thank you for your comment - I was in hospital at the end of March for my hernia repair, and a fortnight later was back in again with sepsis from infected post-operative haematomas in my abdomen. My goodness I felt ill... I was in much longer than for the operation, and had 3 cocktails of powerful IV antibiotics before they found the combo that worked. This was what got me going on all the fermented foods, in an effort to restore my gut microbiome after the forest fire of antibiotics! I feel better now than I've felt for years. It's just such a bore, the possibility of having to deal with the return of the hernia after I'd been through all that. Your room is soooo organised! I love your stamp storage ideas. When you've finished, you're more than welcome to come down and sort my room out - the chaos is driving me nuts!!!

Happy WOYWW,

The best thing about organizing is finding things you forgot about. I love the 18 card. Super cool! Have a great week. Dorlene #30

Hi Shaz, Ooh that is fabulous news from the Dr. :)
I am grinning over the stamp surgery because, I do the same thing to mine.
The new stamps look fun and cute, he has good taste. I am curious to see how the storage container turns out. I just have all those inky foams sitting in a tray and it bugs me if one flips upside down. haha ~Stacy #33

That is great news about the nodule shrinking - must be a wonderful feeling when you get news like that. An excuse for a cocktail maybe??
Had to smile at your ATG gun - obviously you are not a pink person? Have I got that right?
Love how you have sorted your stamps and am still reeling at the amount you have. Thought I had a lot! And Doug adds to them with those cute stamps. I don't do cute either but would not be able to resist those - love the bunny one especially. What a wonderful man he is, love seeing the two of you together. You just make me happy.
Lots of Love, Neet (and thank you for visiting me whilst I was getting on with my face painting which happily is ready for publishing today) xx

Huge great news about the nodule, I like that sort of Gamma Knife result!
Now then, these stamps....if you’ve categorised them all but TH Lavinia and Stampscapes...does that mean that they are your go to 3 companies and you’re barely looking at the others? This could be a revealing exercise Mrs!! The cubby holes do look impressive dont they, and to end up with 2 empty squares is a bit of a result I must say....tantalising!!

As always, I love your ending sayings! When you are talking about your stamps, what do you mean by "folders"? I see the boxes you are using are like magazine boxes, I'm assuming the folders are inside? Your hubby is like mine - always choosing the cute stuff! I agree, though, I like the penguins! And good for you for cutting you stamp to fix it - sometimes we have to do what we have to do! And besides, now you have the word "happy" to use on it's own! Have a great week! Lindart #27

Fab news, Shaz! Keeping you in prayers. I LOVE that stamp set from the magazine. Wonder if that's what will be in my new one. I always get mine later here in the US. As to your reorganizing, you now understand how my desk clean up became a 'project' last week LOL Creative Blessings! Kelly #31
