Be warned, if you like dies, the Aliexpress one may cause you to visit, & spend money! But they are ridiculously cheap, as you'll see.
So, back to the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC.
Here's a long shot- yes, some stash was bought. I blame the stallholders, they just have so many fab inspiration pieces on show, and far too many goodies.
Talking of inspiration, I bought some pots of gilding wax, due to these samples.
I also bought 3 embossing folders(!) but they were 3 for 2, and it gave me great ideas to use with my existing ones too. There are some more gorgeous examples in my post.
These came from Pink Frog Crafts, as did another purchase, some glitter card. Now, for those who like glitter, but not the shedding, this glitter card is totally non shed, and super smooth. And you can do this with it:Yes, colour it with markers and even stamp on it. Cool, huh?
He gave me a small sample to play with when I got home, to try it out before committing to a bigger piece, and I coloured mine with Promarkers,(right) and even Distress Oxides- Lucky Clover, another buy on Saturday. And it still has a glitter look to it.
I bought a couple of dies- couldn't resist the Polar Bear & cub, and a lovely Snowflake Border.
Heather Marshall made a comment on how to store dies on the Aliexpress post, so I thought I'd quickly share my method here.
Mine are all stored in an A4 Really Useful Box, with homemade dividers, labelled with the contents of that section. The 3 Bigz dies at the front just keep them upright. I used chipboard type card- the sort on the backs of notepads etc.
I buy A4 magnetic sheets off Amazon or E-Bay- whoever has them cheapest, and cut them down to fit the Large Avery Elle pockets.
How many dies to a pocket depends entirely on die size. Some have half a dozen, some only one.
I did start out putting them on A5 magnetic sheets stored in A5 binders, but those quickly got heavy and unwieldy.
I'm liking this system, it's easy to flick through and find what I want, and I don't have dies dropping off sheets in folders! The box stays on the table I use for die cutting, so I don't have to lift it either.
Right, I think I'm done, just finish off with this- you can tell how much better I feel, my endpost funny is back!

your die storage system looks great... most ofmy dies are Bigz ones so sit in a box in their packets but I am getting more of the thinner ones.. the glitter card looks a great non-messy alternative to glitter! Helen #?
Yay, I'm so glad you're returning to normal...what am I saying??? You're NEVER normal, lol....but it is good to hear you're feeling better :-D. Love the new stash you've bought and glitter card sounds just the thing to paper the JanCave with!

Have a great week!

Lovely stash, Shaz! It would be financial suicide for me to visit a show like that! Given the availability of cheap dies (they were not around a few years ago!) I'm thinking of buying a Big Shot. I used to own one a few years ago, but sold it and of course regretted it! Love those embossed/gilded backgrounds! That's one thing I can't do on my Cameo - emboss, so I do need a Big Shot! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #15
Hi Shaz!
I see you are back full on crafting! Your big shop at the net was amazing! I can never go there as it is far to go to all the way from Kent! Hope you are feeling much better!
Love and hugs,
Cardarian
It's always fun to see how others store their materials, I don't own dies myself but your 'system' looks great and handy. Have a warm and bright day, happy woyww and a big hug from Holland, Marit #19
Hi Shaz. Yes, I agree - that non-shed glitter card is wonderful, isn't it? I bought some when I went to the show in Manchester - not cheap but really good. Pink Frog are a great company to deal with - love 'em! Actually went and found their shop when on holiday in Derbyshire earlier in the year. It's so tiny compared with all that they do.
Well it sounds like you have had an amazing week - so much going on there. Take care girl. God bless.

That silver glitter card looks great, especially as you can colour and stamp on it. Glad you had such a good time at the NEC. I keep all my SIzzix dies in a similar manner to you, but the rest are in Tonic storage folders (14 small and 4 large). i have at least got them labelled so I don't have to hunt through them all (most of the time LOL). Thank you for your visit - ongoing problems esp with Ruby whose wound has opened right up again so it's back to the vet again this p.m. Glad you're getting on OK.

YAY that is great you felt good enough to go to a show Shaz, looks like a fun thing ( no shed glitter paper) (have you ever tried coloring on regular glitter papers? I would not have thought to color it at all so, that part took me by surprise) This is the first time I have ever tried to pre-plan a display for the booth so, I am enjoying the process of it just pushing things around. Its the sorting of what will be left behind that will be brain-numbing :) ~Stacy #35
Sounds like you had a good time and bought some new stuff. have a fun week with it

Ooh fabulous stash - I love the glitter card and have become quite addicted to using it! I'm slowly adding colours to my initial purchase of black, but I love the idea of colouring them with marker pens - ingenious, and definitely something to have a go at!
Thanks so much for the visit earlier, I hope you have a great week and enjoy using all your lovely new goodies.

I love the embossed piece you have on show. The gold on black looks fab and the actual embossing is gorgeous.
Look forward to seeing the dies you bought in use and what the results are on a card.
Take care
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
ps thanks to you both for help with the bullets - got more time now before the next airing of my hat after Saturday
Hi Shaz, good to see and hear you are feeling better. Like the look and sound of the glitter paper. I have it everywhere tonight :-) Love the Polar Bear die and snowflake one as well.
You mentioned mum having gone back :-( After her fall, broken &then pinned hip and broken shoulder ) she was in Walsall Manor Hospital. They wanted to discharge her. They then said she couldn't go to local Community Hospital as her address still in Somerset - bungalow still not sold. In end she was sent back down to Chard. Went in ambulance, very traumatic and painful journey for her :-( The next day told her that hospital was closing. They then moved her to another. It is all a real mess - that was the very short version. Have a good week. Anne x #26
Hi Shaz, thanks for sharing your die storage. Definitely an idea to consider, and would keep all my dies in one place. Thanks for your kind words on the northern lights. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with the baubles kit. I'll also try colouring some glitter ... never crossed my mind before, but it looked great on the sample card you took a picture of! I checked out Aliexpress again .... sale prices on 11/11 so I guess I'll be buying some more lol. Have a lovely week Heather #5
Hi Shaz, I went to the NEC on the Thursday as we thought it would be less busy and it did seem fairly quiet. Loving your die storage, very clever. Have a great and crafty WOYWW, Angela x14x
I love the sentiment at the bottom of your post. I need it! Love the dies you purchased especially those polar bears. Have a great week! Dorlene #36
Doing catch up Shaz, praying all goes well with CT scan which must be soon.. ... loved your last WOYWW post and two below too, one which I commented on.
Those new rub ons look fab, must remember to use mine more often.. how often sdo we say that.
Interested in thou storage method too. Might try it.
Can’t get A4 sheets magnetic here, so sue L plates from cheap shops .. have system like yours on smaller scale but maybe I need A4size, or just dividers as my box isn’t full.
Way behind in commenting so tired because have more demands on my time so never seem to catch up.
Maybe next week.. ;-)

Gld to hear that you're feeling a bit brighter this week. Take care x
You do sound so much better, Shaz, quite perky in fact. Love the polar bear dies and your method of storing is much better than mine. Take care and keeeeeep crafting. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22
Love your storage box for dies - I never thought of cutting the magnetic sheets down! Great idea! I don't have many dies, so mine are just in a basket for now, on smaller magnetic sheets, probably 5X7. Looks like you had a fantastic time at the show!
Sorry I'm so late this week! Thank you for your earlier visit, Lindart #34
I love hobbycraft shows. I don't get to many and have to set a limit when I go. LOL they have just way too tempting new products and after they demo, you want them all. Yep, too tempting. Looks like you found some cool new toys. Thanks for stopping by this week. Creative Blessings Kelly #30
