WOYWW #595- The Snowman Edition

The desk- and this is probably the tidy half!  It's WOYWW day again, so lots of desks to visit, thanks to Julia over at our home base, The Stamping Ground.

I was making some more Christmas cards, this time featuring a snowman. Here I've just added a bit of colour, and am going to add some Puffy Stuff to his hat.

This is the desk behind the desk, otherwise known as the place to dump everything I've got out, lol.I really do need to clear it off and put it all away. Soon.

This snowman is a very, very old stamp. The company was Funstamps, and it used to be wood mounted. Pretty sure I probably bought this back when I first started stamping, which is more years ago than I want to recall! He's probably my favourite snowman stamp, he looks so cheerful.

This one is much newer, bought it last year. By a company called Two Jays.

The finished cards are in the post below.

I kept them simple, just added some colour to the scarves, and a little blue ink added to ground them. Added a sentiment from Phill Martins Stately Christmas Sentiments, and that was it.

Which brings us round to .......And Finally........as it's nearly Halloween, I've added a couple of funnies on that theme.

Hi Shaz,
I do agree with you on that snowman, very very cheerful! Don’t do snowmen though as summer Christmas doesn't quite work with it.. yes, an oldie but a goodie just like Julia’s desk! Do love my old wooden ones but didn’t I in mount them though. Like them the way they are. Good work on cards below!
Happy WOYWW.
Thanks for sharing, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x #5

Hi Shaz, long time no post... but I'm hoping this time I can get back into crafting! Love the snowmen... I thnk I have that same one somewhere, (not the stamp, just the picture) so it'll be colouring snowmen for me later! Can't go wrong!
Happy Crafting and Happy WOYWW!

Lol! The funnies made me smile. And like Julia you are using old stamps to make new cards. So good. I love how he is simple to colour and super cheerful - something we all need this year! The puffy paint hat detail is such a fun addition - really makes the card. That sentiment stamp is very pretty as well.

Happy WOYWW!

Your funnies always crack me up, Shaz! I recognise that snowman stamp - it was featured on the card you sent me last year! One of these days, I'll get my act together and send you one too! Lots of lovelies in the making, I can see! Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you at the crop! xx zsuzsa #9

I’ve seen both those snowmen stamps before and have used one, maybe it was passed onto me, can’t remember now, lol! Anyway, I find that no matter what new stuff I may get, it’s always the old favs that I return to. I bet you don’t do all that tidying up soon, it’s the sort of thing to prevaricate about.... ;-)
Great funnies, made me laugh!

The snowman stamps are lovely - I have one that's an old favourite of mine as well, very dinky and made by Blade Rubber in London. It's a row of small snowmen with different hats and scarves...

I too seems to have a dumpit desk. Well, I think they're all dumpit desks, if I'm honest... Glad I'm not alone though!

I have the first older stamp and have used it over and over. I like the newer one too and you have such a steady hand for colouring- I always have outside the line stuff! Hope you are both well. Happy crafting.

Loved the funnies - hubble bubble and all that! I like the older snowman - think he is cute. I really must think up an idea for my cards this year. Hope you are well. I am still struggling to link up so Annie did it for me but now I have to search out all my blog buddies - flippin BT! xx Jo

Lovely snowmen! Often times simple is best! I certainly have a few ancient stamps rolling round here as well...Your desk look very happy! I have made Sunday's my "clean the craft room" day, so I get a little bit done each week before I get distracted and start making something! Thanks for sharing, have a great week! Lindart #28

How many Christmas Cards have you made to date Shaz? I am sure you are the record holder on WOYWW for them. I loved the stockings last week but the snowmen are equally nice this week and I agree that the older stamp is a lovely figure. Nothing wrong with the new one either, it's good to have them both.
Thanks for the two funnies at the end. I love the witchy one with their special brew.
Hugs to you both

There's nothing like a sweet little snowman for sure. The skeleton made me smile. Years ago I used to do a lot of machine knitting and I had a little room where I would hide away while doing it as you need to concentrate. We hadn't been married very long and sometimes Des would come upstairs and stick his head in asking how long I was going to be but he always managed to do it as a stitch jumped off the machine and I'm afraid he didn't get a very good response but we're still together! Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x18x

Love both those snowmen stamps but you are right the old one is a very smiley snowman!! Thanks for the advice re the mandala stencils and dies. I have had a similar problem with the other dies when I tried to infill the diecut spaces - they are not all equal!! Have learnt to try and keep them in the die while I choose the ones I want. Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #19 xx

Thanks for popping in. Love your snowymen and your Finally pics. I guess lots of partners can relate to the skeleton!
My hubby is making pumpkin soup at the moment so the cauldron looks particularly familiar... (He does make the best soup I hasten to add, and doesn't have a pointy hat, though he does have whiskers...in fact he has a beard!)
Take care with hugs from Sue. #24

Hi Shaz, your snowmen are totally different, but I like them both. I spilt my tea (again) when I saw the skeleton picture. I laughed out loud! Note to self : Keep calm while the tea cup is full ! Have a great week Angela #26

I have the Funstamps snowman too, still wood mounted, and much used, still a favourite! I still like a nice clean outline to colour! The cards are great, you are quietly plotting on and I reckon you’ve got absolutely loads made now. *she pouts*! I remember when I did Saturday afternoon workshops at Stamping Ground the shop, a customer us to ear had a text from her hubby asking where she was (and could she pick up bread or something.) she messaged back that she was in Ludgershall and yes. The next message was ‘get out of that craft shop’.she switched her phone off! Art never shops with me unless we’re on holiday. He found Walmart and Target very very trying!!!!

Good morning, Shaz.
I think we all have a dumping ground... well, at least one LOL
Love the cards. Thanks for the tip about the dusting of blue to ground the snowmen. I'll give that a try! I had to copy the witch comic for my fridge. Perfect for my cauldron kitchen theme for the season. Can the turn of the wheel really only be two days away?! Creative Blessings! Kelly #25

Busy and productive as usual, Shaz! Two cheerful looking snowmen. Nothing wrong with old stamps! I think it's a shame when they stop making popular ones.

Happy belated WOYWW,
