WOYWW#593- The Paper Piecing Edition.

And just like that, it's Wednesday again. Cannot believe how fast these weeks are flying by. As always on Wednesday, we meet up at Julias place, The Stamping Ground, for our weekly desk-fest.

Here is the start of my paper-piecing of the Christmas Stockings from last week. I stamped the image onto cardstock, then coloured the parcels and holly. Then I stamped and cut out the stocking part, using blue and red card. You can also see the small pieces for the heel, toe and  top, which I'm planning to cut out of some glittery felt I picked up in Hobbycrafts sometime last year.

This is it, it's not overly glittery, in fact I may give it a blast with some Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle I have on my shelf- and in fact, you could make your own using plain felt & a spray.

And here is the first one put together. I used pinking shears to edge the top, and cut it a little longer than the pattern piece, so it would definitely cover the join.

I've got another 6 to do, then I have the Holly & Bell images I've coloured to do, and the baubles. I'm sure they'll appear next week.

So thats my contribution for this week, which brings us round to......And Finally.......

I have to admit, it wouldn't be wine for me, I can't bear the stuff! But G&T, or Jack Daniels/Southern Comfort and Coke, and I'm your girl!

This made me laugh, a lot!

Yes - you made me laugh out loud - again - thanks lots. Your little stocking card is lovely. Note to self (plan Christmas cards) - it will be here before we know it and as we probably won't be visiting folk much, I guess a really nice card will mean a lot this year. xx Jo

On my life Shaz, you work so hard on your cards. The stocking has come out fab and a blast of the glitter spray is such a good idea. Am now going to hunt mine out of the workroom and enhance the angels I’ve coloured! Great thinking missus.
Meanwhile, you had a fab idea for 600 and I will message you when Ive got time to actually sit still and have a conversation! I dont know why bu the past two days have been silly busy - in and out like a yo yo! I must be a witch. ANd now its just me and him in the one bed, I dont just fold them....I run the iron over them too!! Well, in the summer. Autumn and onwards we use teddy bear fleece sheet, so thats just a fold job. So much revelation!!

Love your stocking, what a wonderful effect you have got - that is definitely a special card.

I've had a busy morning...been to the hospital for blood tests, back for a late breakfast and then had to shorten 3 the 3 nurses dresses and a pair of jeans before I could start my blog visits...so here I am a little late today.
Love your cards...and well done you for being so organised. As for the 'and finally' pics this week hehehehehehehe love them.
Stay safe and well.

Hi Shaz. It has taken me all morning to pick up my click and collect order, so I am really late (for me) starting to work down the list - sorry! That stocking is just gorgeous - well done. So much work and effort gone into it! Just to let you know I'm not a witch either, but what can I use to do my home test??? Can't drink alcohol - mostly made from fruit... and water just doesn't cut the mustard, does it?
Take care, girl. God bless.

Oh yeah, I can see the glitter in it! But you're right, you can probably make your own. I love Christmas the stocking! Reminds me of those touchy-feely baby books my son used to have years ago. What a great idea! Laughed at the Home Covid test! Must try that one! The way to change the setting in your blog: go into Design/Settings/Comments/Who can comment? and choose "Anyone". I'm just hoping I won't get a deluge of spam! Thanks for your visit Shaz! Have a lovely week!xx zsuzsa #20

***I love the Christmas stocking*** Got the word order wrong LOL - I inserted "Christmas" as an afterthought and didn't check it! Either that or I'm practicing Yoda talk!

Lovely card Shaz. I love wine myself but my sinuses have a low tolerance for alcohol these days. I always say, if we all liked the same thing, the queue would be too long.
I always like your And finallys
Stay safe and happy WOYWW

Fortunately, I DO love wine, so it may be a tad bit of a problem! LOL Have a great rest of the week and thanks so much for stopping in on my blog! Felicia #22

OH NO!! I can fold sheets for England - it is a new talent I have recently discovered (along with folding T-Shirts, socks, knicks, track suit bottoms etc. etc. all Marie Kondo's fault!), maybe we are all witches, handy for halloween.
Anyway, I love your big sock and what you have done to it. More eagerly awaited.
Hope you are all well - and I keep forgetting to ask how your family is - the ones who had the fire?
Love
Maggie (Bendy Yorkite)
PS Bendycat now looks as big as your Ambrose seems to have been. How much did he eat?

Gorgeous stocking Shaz and that glittery felt will make it very tactile too. I hate fitted sheets - yes anyone who can deal with them must be a witch!! Happy Wednesday, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #21

Hi, Shaz!
Love your stocking! It’s so dimensional! You say you plan to make 6? Do you stick to the plan? I planned to make 6 Halloween cards. I am finishing the 10th one! All using my stash! Kept trying different combinations of print and textures and couldn’t stop.

Martha Stewart must be a witch! She’s the only one I know that can fold a fitted sheet! She even made a video of it!

Happy Wednesday and stay safe!

Kathryn

Your Christmas stocking is gorgeous and love how you finished it. There is a comedian that has done that test on line and it's very funny but can't remember what his name is. Not a lover of wine myself and certainly not the amount he drank. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x19x

Hi Shaz! I can't eat apples on their own either - they have to be cooked! I love your stocking, so realistic! And I do take my "covid test" daily, at 5pm! The extra part of the the test is if I can smell hubby's (disgusting) Scotch from 3 feet away- the older it is, the worse it smells (like medicine!). Have a wonderful week, and thanks for your visit! Such a job to stamp, colour, cut and glue that Christmas piece but with rewarding result: it looks awesome! And I will take that home-test tonight, definitely! *lol* Thanks for your visit to my blog last week. In the Netherlands there were stricter rules announced in order to get the covid-number down but I am allowed to stay working at location - pfew! That's a release! Stay healthy and happy!
