WOYWW #592- The More Christmas stuff Edition.

Indeed, straight in again with a bit more enabling. This time two stamps from Honey Doos Christmas release. Yes, I know, like I need more Christmas stamps! I watched her Facebook live the other night where she showed lots of the DT's samples, and was very taken with these. Also, a pot of stencil paste in a lovely dark purple.

Magic Maggie asked what the 'enabling' bit is all about last week- enabling is encouraging people, so it's a bit of a running joke, between and about those of us who show recent purchases- some of us more often than others, lol. But, it's Wednesday again- I swear there's more than one Wednesday in a week lately- so this is when we share our desks with the world, via our Mothership, The Stamping Ground, hosted by our lovely Julia. Also on the desk are some stamped Christmas images, again, all from Honey Doo.

I intend to paper piece the Christmas stockings, which is why the body of them isn't coloured- just around the edges in case there's any wonky cutting. The bells will be paper pieced too, so I'm only going to colour the holly, and the baubles don't need any colouring.Sorry if the picture looks a tad blurred, I don't think the camera lens liked the shiny surface of the baubles.

So, that's me for this week, short & sweet. Actually, I'm not really very short, and I don't think sweet is a description anyone would ever apply to me,lol.

So, that brings us round to.................And Finally....................

every darn time........

Something I forgot to say last week- Susan Renshaw mentioned two weeks ago that it was 3 years since she did the Tim Holtz workshop. I realised she had the same blue lockers in her photo as I have in my pic with Tim, top right, and that she must have been at the same Art from the Heart one that Debbie Rock and I went to. When I looked at Susans picture, you can see Debbie  behind her left shoulder, no sign of me, I must have been on a loo break, or a spot of retail therapy! Small world eh? Of course we hadn't 'met' back then. We WOYWWers get everywhere!!!!

Your final paragraph made me say "and that is why we should wear our badges wherever we go". Sorry, but I am as guilty as the next person but it is a thought.
Your Christmas cards put me to shame as I have not even thought of them this year but I will - no doubt in December. Those are lovely images and beautiful colouring as always, I do hope we see them when pieced.
Take care, stay safe and well

Wow, what a coincidence about Susan being at the same event as you and Debbie!! It really is a small world sometimes. Forget badges, I think we need a WOYWW tattoo, lolol! Now there's an idea........ ;-). Love the new baubles stamp, you'll get a lot of use out of that for sure. It doesn't surprise me that you bought more purple either!

Hi Shaz. Well, where to start? There's so much on your post today. Love the stamps - so attractive. Love the stamping and colouring - and yes, please, show us after the paper piecing has taken place. I do indeed pull on doors that say push. And lastly - short you may not be - but sweet - yes, in a gorgeous, friendly, accepting way!!
Take care both of you. God bless.

Love that stocking stamp!

Yep it is a small world - but we have definitely 'met' now! It was a brilliant workshop. I went with friends from the UK Stampers Network, who I met for the first time, on one of their retreats, back in 2015 (?). I catch up with them every other week on Zoom, even though I am now in Australia. May get a little more difficult to get up in time when the hour changes.

Happy woyww! Susan #7

Shaz, we can always rely on you for some enabling! You're responsible for a few things I bought in the past LOL! How cool that you worked out that you had been in the same workshop with Susan without realising it at the time - small world indeed, especially that she has since moved to Australia! Happy crafting! xx zsuzsa #22

Oh look Shaz! why do we try to kid ourselves. None of us actually need anymore stamps but we are keeping the economy running right! Well that's one excuse so what else....I just like them Lol! Please let us see the cards when you've made them, my brain's a bit stuck this year, it's clogged up with these baby journals. I must have been mad to say I would make them especially as they don't know what sex the baby will be but guess I will have a spare for someone else but it's all so pretty!!! soppy colours and sweet images, give me the grunge, steampunk and Halloween stuff any time! Never mind I'm sure I'll get over it. Have a lovely week and a happy woyww, Angela x16x

I am loving your new stash, the hanging baubles stamp looks lovely. I do love the Christmas stocking and look forward to seeing it when you've done your paper piecing too. Quite frankly I don't need any more Christmas stamps, or ordinary ones come to that - in fact if I never bought another item of craft stuff I still wouldn't get through what I have in my craft room, but then where's the fun - collecting it is a whole different past time to the actual making of stuff isn't it!!
Thanks for the enabling, I'm off to peruse some Christmas stamps as it's getting dangerously near to card making time!
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana x #14

I have a picture in my mind of WOYWWers lurking round every corner at your workshops Shaz! Isn't it funny how these things happen in life - almost like we are drawn together somehow. I like the funnies - I am so sure there will be lots of clouds thinking they can see idiots down on earth at the moment!! xx Jo

Shaz, you are so funny!! I love your humor that comes out through jpegs as well! I may have to rob one! LOL You are, in fact, a great enabler!!! LOL Those Christmas stampings are so lovely!! Can't wait to see what you do with the stockings!!! What gorgeous stamps! I don't buy a lot of "seasonal" stamps, but those I would totally consider! By the way, I am so completely jealous of ANYONE who gets to meet the Art God Tim Holtz!! I love that guy! LOL Blessings for the rest of your week! :) Felicia #27

I have the same problem as you, I keep buying Christmas stuff! LOL!
I haven't done paper piecing in a while, seems I tend toward dies more.
Both your quotes are great. I have lots of floaters in one eye and told hubby I try to figure out what they resemble. I think he wonders about me sometimes....
Have a great week!

Afternoon Shaz!! Really don't need any more Christmas stuff but have gone and ordered a Robin stamp - can yu believe I was asked for one and I didn't have it!! (I couldprobably have found one on the many CDs I own however...). I'm beginning to think it's very dangerous watching these lives and videos, after a couple of months of being very very good, I am now in a very very bad phase.... Jennifer Mcguire is one of my worst (favourite) enablers!! The cards look really nice, I'm looking forward to getting into Christmas properly again (the split image cards were an aberration - just happened to have that poinsettia to hand!). I already have more cards done than I could possibly need so I can have a bit of fun rather than racing against the clock. Have a good week, (a bit slower than normal please), stay well, stay safe, Cindy #13

Hi, Shaz!
No, one can never have enough Christmas stamps! Or dies, or....
I like your paper piecing idea. Had not done it with stamps, just die cuts. And never would have thought of just coloring the edges!

Stay safe and Happy Wednesday!

Kathryn

I dont think you explained to Magic Maggie quite how erm, important you are in the enabling stakes of this particular group. Perhaps you should direct her to me....I’m not bitter or broke, so I’ll be fair!! Can’t stop smiling at the Minion end quote....really struck me for some reason. I really like the line of hanging baubles. But I’m not buying any more. I’ve bought 6 SIX Woodward Christmas stamps this year and have used one so far. And Ive still got NBUS Christmas stamps from last year. Stop it!! Such a small world isn’t it, love how you put Susan’s story and photo together with the TH workshop. I bet at some stage most of us might even have been at the same exhibition at one time! And as for pushing the pull....ack.

Sorry i'm late, had a little issue to deal with yesterday but Happy WoywW Tracey xx

Mm ditto on more stuff Shaz, me too! Last lot of great stamps were after Christmas sakes and that’s the time I buy as an always ready to rock straight into Christmas cards right then too, always do next tears ASAP after Christmas..ie good head roads into them as seems to reflect how I go forward rest of year. Come October was half way through that easy peasy, great job half done!
Batch baking this year will help.
I think that paper piece on those images is one clever idea.
Lovely desky share sorry I’m late... again... 😁
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these unusual times, a blessing to rest simply in Him! Praying you’re all kept well too!
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊

Hi Shaz! we're both in the Christmas card mood! I only have a few SU stamps as well. One year they did some great "eclectic" stamps, but it didn't last long. Thanks for the tip about the brushes, I will do that! Have a great week! Lindart #28
