WOYWW #591- The Odds and Ends Edition

Time for Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday again- is it just me, or do these weeks seem to be getting shorter? Pop over to Julias place, The Stamping Ground, to join in.

Some enabling right at the start this week- two new Visible Image stamps. I thought the star one would decoupage nicely, for quick cards, and loved the size and font on the sentiment stamp. I'm thinking stamp the Star onto the card base & heat emboss in silver, gold or sparkle EP, then stamp again onto glitter card or patterned paper, cut out and add on top. Also, the new Distress colour, Crackling Campfire.

Two cards made last weekend, should have been 3. I'm retrying the third one in the pic below. You know when somethings not gone right, so you try to fix it? And end up making an even bigger mess of it? Yeah, well that happened. The image, an old VI one, is framed, so in order not to stamp the frame across the snowflakes, I wiped the ink off the bottom part, then, completely forgetting the top part of the frame, stamped it. Looked awful, so I added in the same colour ink- which I intended doing anyway-, but it went all blotchy. So, next intended fix was to die cut a circle of double sided adhesive, place over the image, and sprinkle with Glamourdust.
The Glamourdust would hide the blotchy patch. That went well, right up to the sprinkling bit. I grabbed the bottle, and sprinkled. Except it was the Gold coloured one, not the Crystal. It hid the blotchy patch alright, but it hid everything else too! That's when I  realised every fix was making it worse, not better, so it went in the bin. This is the fresh version, and so far, so good. Good job I have a sense of the ridiculous!

Thank you to everyone for your input on White pens last week. General opinion seemed to be that A) Posca or Sakura Gelli Roll are the best, and B) and actually finding a good white pen is a bit like looking for hen's teeth!

And all that brings us round to .........And Finally.............................

Saw this last week on FB, made me laugh, so I thought I'd share with you all

...and this about sums me up. 😀

One final moan about the new Blogger- whats the new Labels thing about? Now I have to start typing each subject, then select what I want, rather than just scroll through the list. Grrr.

Fabulous Christmas cards Shaz, they look amazing. At least with the labels they will still let you use semi colons to separate items from the same manufacturer rather than having to retype it each time. I seem to have finally got to grips with what I need it to do anyway so I am not exploring further at present. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. sarah #5

Love your cards, you really are darned good, excellent in fact, at creating those scenes. I think this stencil was made with you in mind. Love that word from VI - can see you using that a lot, it is lovely script and what a great size.
Two great "and finally's" make for a smile early in the morning.
Take care, Hugs, Neet xx 8

I was tempted to those stamp sets too Shaz but not just yet.. you could stamp any main word above the star, like Christmas or Birthday and they would make an all year round stamp set. Will look awesome in metallics. Awesome cards I could really do with getting a jog on with Christmas.
Wishing you well this WoywW Hugs Tracey #7 xx
P.S Yes I could get rid of all those cleaning devices in a heart beat hee hee!

Lovely Christmas cards Shaz though I did laugh at your fury about every stage went wrong with the first one - only cos I have projects like that when you wish you'd never started! The new stash is good and I too love the large Christmas word one, that'll be so handy. The And Finally (s) made me lol too, especially the drink one....;-)

I knew what was going to be on the "get-rid-of" list before I saw it LOL! Housework is so boring and life is too short to be doing boring things! Your plan sounds great with those new stamps - I'm sure we'll see it in action soon. Lovely cards - you must have such a big collection now! Happy #591 Shaz! xx zsuzsa #21

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Posca pen acquired. Thanks also for showing some work on the frosty bauble. Can't wait for more! May I ask why you say "enabling" please, does it actually mean purchases? Sorry to be nosy.
Glad you are all OK.
love

I'm loving these stamps but I really CAN NOT justify buying any more Christmas stuff! Get thee behind me Shaz!! Seriously that is an awesome 'CHRISTMAS'. I had to laugh at your trials. Sometimes you have to know when to give up!! I haven't come across the blogger labels thing - I think my operating system is so old it just doesn't see half the changes! Stay well, saty safe, Happy WOYWW, Cindy #22

Yes I've struggled with the Blogger labels too - nothing is simple in life any more! I am so glad it's not just me that struggles on, trying to right wrongs only to end up putting it where it should have probably gone in the first place - bin! It's such a relief when you see the end to it - lol. And finally...Oh and yes that's me with the cleaning too - don't mind doing it but only when I feel the need! xx Jo

And.....thank you for the "enabling" photo of these envy worthy stamps!! I LOVE them!!! They are yummy and I STILLLLL need to get that Crackling Campfire!! That is my kind of color!! Your cards are ALWAYS gorgeous to me and this weeks stash are no exception!! I have pulled your "lets see if we can try to fix it" more than I can say and I don't know that I will ever learn either to just stop or don't try to "fix it" at all!!! My sense of "ridiculous" always seems to be on point! LOLOL Have a wonderful Wednesday and rest of the week!! Blessings, Felicia #26

Happy WOYWW. I particularly like that star stamp. I am determined not to buy any new Christmas stash this year. I don't make many cards now, so whatever is already in my craft room and digital designs will be enough. It is difficult to resist though! Ali x #8

Hi Shaz your funnies made me smile and now I know how to make some space! I'm also pleased that I'm not the only one that makes mistakes and makes it worse by trying to put it right, still it's only card I guess. Wishing you a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x12x

Hi, Shaz!

Don’t you hate it when you have to fix things 3 or 4 times? I don’t really bin much of anything. I’ll dig it out at a later date and try something else. By the time I like it, it can be a whole lot thicker than it started out to be.

Stay well and Happy Wednesday

Kathryn

Hi Shaz, I apologise for laughing at your crafty tale of woe ... as you listed each fix, I thought "I would have binned it" and then right at the end .... I chuckled lol. The housekeeping funny had me giggling too! I missed last week but I use Sakura Gelli roll pens. I bought a glitter one as well as the white ones, thats good too. Thanks for stopping by earlier. I don't quite feel like a barcode, but I'm hoping that's all the scans done now, and they can recommend some treatment. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #17

Terrific cards, and I had to laugh at the story of trying to embellish over a mistake. We've all done it! I usually try to cut off at least one inch of the project so it's not a total pitch. Thank you for the funnies too ~ it's great to smile. Enjoy the rest of your week ~ Love, Karen#32

It’s weird how we try to save our cards rather than start again isn’t it?! Why is that I wonder. Love your cards and your entertaining blog🤗 Hugs, Sue #23

Love the new stamps, Shaz, and your cards are, as usual, beautiful. I think many of us could tell tales of crafty disasters and I certainly identified with your efforts to save that card. I enjoyed the funnies, especially the first one. And I'm with you on the Blogger labels thingy ... it's a pain. Have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #27

Sorry I'm so late with my visits this week. I went with my hubby yesterday doing deliveries for our daughter and her hubby's printing business to London....a long day but always lovely to spend the time together.
Love the new stamps...I'm always up for something that makes quick cards. The 'and finally' made me chuckle....I'd certainly sell my cleaning gear before my fabrics.

Lovely cards! I wanted to see the one you threw out in all it's stages of awfulness...ha ha! I love your FB posts, both fit me very well (although I'm trying hard to do 15 minutes a day of cleaning)! I like your new stamps, makes me want to run out to the stamp store! Thanks for your lovely visit to mine, Lindart #28

Roaring with laughter at your funnies this week, Shaz!!! Lol! (What's a vacuum?) Beautiful cards as always, and my favourite is the last one with the lovely winter scene. Oh boy I'm glad I'm not wrestling with Blogger any longer! It sounds a complete pain these days!

Hope you are well.

Hello Shaz! I think it definitely feels like two Wednesdays in a week because I find I just finished visiting desks and it's time to show mine again! The madness of it all!
We are all enablers indeed just by the fact that we all share these amazing projects we work on weekly. My wallet does suffer from having such creative friends. I really like the stamped images. I need to get started for real on Christmas cards. I started a little last week but have stalled again. I need to get on it so I am not rushing in the end. However, I have so many other fun projects piquing my interest right now. Have a wonderful week my friend.
