WOYWW #574-The More Stamping Edition.

I have indeed done some more stamping of those inked panels from last week. Actually, a few weeks ago, but only started using them last week. As always on Wednesdays, we share our desk with the world at large, courtesy of the The Stamping Ground, home of our lovely leader, Julia.

The desk of Untidiness-working on the 'push to one side' method of crafting today.

One thing I did discover, apart from how brilliant these are for making a lot of cards really easily, is that I have a shameful amount of quote stamps that have never seen the light of day, let alone ink.

All the image stamps- apart from the large butterfly, are Lavinia stamps, the butterfly being an old Papermania one.
All the stamps have had a little colour added with pencils, then matted onto a toning cardstock. Still not brave enough to stamp directly onto a card base, lol.

The actual panel idea I saw done by Eileen Godwin, she posts lots of really easy, but stunning, technique videos on her Facebook page, well worth a look.

I'll be stamping an insert for these with 'Thinking of you', so they'll be useful for a lot of occasions.

I'm also making another batch, so I can do a 'How to', and have more to join my UFO's!

All use Distress Oxides, and the make up brushes.

A few I've tried flicking water on and blotting, for a bit of added oomph.
Doing 3 different sizes again, two for 5" &  6" square, and one for 'notecard' sized cards.

Talking of Eileen, she's responsible for this weeks enabling from me. I saw her making a couple of 'age' cards, using a fab numbers stamp set from Bee Crafty stamps.

You get the TH etc, to go with them in the set.
The stamps are a good size, which was what appealed to me,they are 1¾"(4½cm) high, and , apart from the number 1, they are 1¼" (3cm) wide. All the number stamps I have are much smaller.

Shoulder seems to be improving, today it actually feels normal, but I've had that happen before, then the next day I've woken up and it's back, so not getting overly excited about it yet.

So that brings us round to this weeks.....And Finally.........

Shockingly true, both of them!

Sad to think we'd have been preparing to haul our stash along to the crop this Saturday, but hopefully maybe later in the year when it's deemed safe.

One other thing I'll mention for those who like to go, or may be interested. The Spring Happy Stampers was cancelled for obvious reasons, and at the moment, is tentatively pencilled in for Saturday 3rd of October. All details are on the site, and if it's going ahead, that will be confirmed in August.  This is potentially the last one, I know when we've chatted with the organisers in the past, they were finding it a struggle, but they do say there may be a possibility of it continuing, so that would be great, as it's a fabulous show.

Thanks for the heads up on Happy Stampers. I know she took a lot on when she decided to run it herself so even if I don't go I will buy a ticket to support her. A lot will depend on the state of play for me, think I am a bit scared of going out again to be honest.
Lovely to see those cards and thank you so much Shaz for keeping up with the #Cheers, it means a lot although I must say I am getting to struggle a bit now myself. Could have gone on for ages with the cakes but they would have got boring so am trying something else but will eventually go back to the blog.
Thanks for the enabling, I dare not buy anything else - spent too much on AALL & Create this last month. Just need this back to allow me to play with the stuff.
Good luck with the shoulder - got you in my prayers
Hugs, Neet 9 xx

Morning Shaz. Those cards are great - well done. I confess I tried a similar style last week with some "thinking of you" cards I had been asked to make. Mine were much simpler, though! - just 6x4 inch. Trust your shoulder doesn't suffer from all you have achieved.
Take care of yourselves. God bless.

WOW, Shaz, I am so impressed with your cards. They are all looking so great!!
I love your Commute, hehe, I guess I could make one that looks like yours. I have stamps too I never used, I thought it was for another kind of card, never got to it. I am sure I will one day.

Thank you so much for sharing!

The cards have turned out beautifully and how wonderful to find some "new" stamps. The number you have been able to complete is quite impressive. Love both funnies .... My commute is pretty similar. Have a great week.

Love the backgrounds and the sentiments too. Sad we won’t be meeting this weekend but glad to be safe at home with lots of toys to play with. Sewing is my current favourite but Sarah’s large box of coloured pencils looked very tempting today. Catriona💕

Hi Shaz

Keep that flow chart - it's called being retired, you may need to refer to it later.
In the meantime, I love your 'makes in progress' - Eileen Godwin is a wonderful source of inspiration, and so modest with it!
OK....back to the fridge.

Those panel cards are really lovely - I've done a few recently and did some with my craft class ladies but I think you have taken them to a new level. I had to smile at the sentiment stamp thought - I have loads, many I get because they make me smile and then I can never think of anyone who would appreciate it!! And despite all these bloomin' stamps I still can't find a 'happy birthday' to fit!! Love the comment about the internet as well - guilty as charged!! Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #25

You really have a wonderful knack of creating little works of art on a card Shaz! They always look so crisp and neat. Mine would be not quite square and a bit blotchy - hence I like to sew. Hope that shoulder stays comfy - fingers crossed. xx Jo

It will certainly be sad if Happy Stampers finishes. If it does go ahead in October I will be there for a change at that time of year. Love the panel cards Shaz. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Potentially good news about Happy Stampers. Ive never been but it was the first UK show I ever heard of, so it has always had a self sustaining reputation, I hope it can continue. Your comment about the quote stamps (Sediment stamps as Darnell calls them, which always makes me smile) is so true..me too. I tend to buy any words that make me feel i could use. And then use the same ones again and again. But isn’t it lovely when you use a new one..and these look great on those panels, fab job missus. Not sure my commute is even that complicated, but definitely involves fridge, kettle, bathroom and armchair!!

Hi, Shaz!

I love your new series of cards. Lovely color combinations there. I'll have to check out that Eileen Godwin. And I have located a couple sources for Lavinia Stamps but haven't started my "collection" yet. It's like a train rolling downhill when I do...

My girlfriend and I were supposed to go to a convention last week end. Stamp and Scrapbook Expo. Normally, the expos are held across the states, but most have been cancelled or postponed now. However, the organizers put together a "virtual" convention on a designated Facebook Page. Each vendor had a small time slot where they could demo and show their "show specials". It was quite a feat, I'm sure to put it all together. Not as good as the fun of our actual trip, but better than nothing in these times. I didn't buy as much either so saved money. Now waiting for the mail.

Don't overdo, just because your shoulder feels better. That's why it feels worse the next day.

Stay safe and well.

Happy Wednesday!

Oooh Shaz, I think these cards are some of the loveliest you've ever made - and you have always made absolutely lovely cards! I just love the subtle ombre effect of the inked panels and the simple stamping and sentiments. I think they look much better matted and layered than a single layer card - the co-ordinating cardstock really sets them off. Absolutely brilliant. I might just steal this idea to use with my Florabunda drawings...

Your funnies this week are brilliant, especially the first one which I'm afraid I identify with all too readily. I am a Pinterest addict and can waste a whole morning just looking and pictures and getting inspired! Think how many things I could actually MAKE during that time!

Thank you for your visit and I had to laugh at your account of the cat crunching away at the pigeon! Kitties can be so gross sometimes... Our old Beatrice used to catch loads of rabbits and some were almost as big as she was, and she would systematically eat them from one end to the other and then throw up. It always happened when my hubby was out, too, so I had to deal with it. Fortunately she grew out of it when she got older and settled down!

Do please send me the link to the YouTube videos of the blacksmith. I'd love to see them. Damascus blades are my absolute favourite and it's my ambition to own one one day. My hubby's brother has a hand-made pocket knife with a Damascus blade that was made for him by a friend in Canada. I covet that knife every time I see it!! My posh new chef's knife is due to arrive tomorrow. My new chopping board arrived today and has already been pressed into service - a great addition to the kitchen.

Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi x #14

Hi Shaz, Oh man stamp envy has hit me here ( like I really need more stamps groan) but, I am seriously loving what you did with those mushrooms... ( makes me wonder about what I have, I know I have some) and I really like the pop of color like that on these cards a great deal too. ~Stacy #31

Hi Shaz, I absolutely love your cards, and will check out the video you linked to. What a great stash to have! I also have a lot of sentiment stamps I haven't used, I tend to go the internet and print them off these days. I don't have that number set, but it looks very useful! Glad your shoulder is feeling better, mine is as well, but who knows what tomorrow will bring! Thanks for your visit, have a great week, stay safe, Lindart #32

Fab cards as always. I do love using Distress Oxides with a splatter of water. I think I have the same Papermania butterfly stamp, it probably came with a magazine or a goody bag at some point for me! Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #17

Oh Shaz, I am in love with these cards I want them all!! I want to try this technique. I have a question. Did you use watercolor paper for the panels with the distress ink? Oh, and I love your sentiment stamps. I need to buy more. I am slowly getting my cardmaking engine going again. So your beauties are another boost I need to continue. Thanks for the visit. Oh, and my nail polish chips too but for the time it stays, I enjoy it. That's why I started doing them weekly. It depends on how many dishes I wash plus with all this handwashing isn't helping. Stay well my friend!

Happy VERY Belated WOYWW, Shaz, sorry! 😊 .. soooo slow to comment.
Days are simply tooo short!
Ahhhh loving your cards.. adore those mushrooms one of these days I will buy a stamp.. however like you have lots uninked too so hard to justify.. plus have to be nice one.
Really nice. Like the background simplicity too of cards.
Agreed on And finally but mije dud include garden walk and cupboard repair washing and start a card today so some brownie points. Zero tv not mich on screen so very unusual indeed. I've made a jobs list it has helped. Lots needing attention. But did sit in sun and read the paper!
Re shoulder pray its being well behaved for you... and AGREE re the number stamps. Saw Eileen on FB from your link. Followed but not time now.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X #23
