WOYWW #557- The 'There's stuff on the desk' Edition

There is indeed, for this weeks link up of desks far and wide, courtesy of Julia at The Stamping Ground.
 Exhibit A, m'lud.
The Lavinia stamps mentioned last week, a few Distress Oxide Sprays. Once again, enabled by Jennifer McGuire, doing some fab Christmas cards on dark cardstock using these. So, I will be CASE-ing what she did in the near future.
And a stamp set that I will lay at Dougs door. Not that he saw them until they arrived, but he started the whole 'Just Because' thing back last year. I have a small Just Because sentiment stamp, and a small die cut too, but this Altenew set, called Just Because Builder, seemed to be a must have. It's those two words in a variety of fonts, so you can mix and match as you like. It all came about when he mentioned that when he buys me flowers, which he does now and then, he usually gets comments like 'who's in trouble then?' to which he replies, 'No, they're Just Because', and he said cards with that on would be useful. So thats the reason for them. Bought from Bumbleberry Papercrafts, who stock quite a lot of US  brands.
This week its a ' two for one' scenario, this being the desk where I do my die cutting, and I have a number of dies to put away, from the making of last weekends Christmas cards, which are in the post below.

Last weeks desk showed the dies I planned on using, and some image printed vellum.
Now I know that vellum can be a nightmare to attach with tape or glue, as it tends to be visible. However, here's a tip that works on white or light cardstock, but not on darker ones. Use Double Sided adhesive sheet over the whole back of the vellum rather than narrow tape or glue. Because the whole of the vellum is covered, there is no difference in it to show afterwards.

So thats it for now, bringing us round to......And Finally.......

There is so much truth in that!

Love the vellum-I never know how to stick it without putting a frame over it so will try your tip for daughter’s birthday in March.

Ha ha, love the finally....I don’t drink near as much coffee as you do, but I still feel the truth there!
That’s an amazing haul from Lavinia, and I look forward to the CASEing of the JM works. All I need is to be convinced to buy more bl***y sprays!! If you were a scrapbooked, I’d be encouraging you to scrapbook that Just Because story, I love little life bits like that in a scrapbook..sort of adds flesh to the characters in the pics. I’m blathering. Hope you’re feeling up to a loooong desk session with all those new stamps.

I love your 'And Finally' pic. Reminds me of the time I worked in an office and the coffee machine was out of action for over a week. Everyone was so grumpy all the time, I wouldn't have been surprised if blood had been shed! I don't drink coffee so I wasn't bothered.

You already know I love the Christmas cards and all those Lavinia stamps looks gorgeous. I've got another sentiment set by Altenew and I do like them. At first I thought "do I want so many of the same words" but I love them and the different font styles are very useful. Off now to do a bit more shifting into the cabin. Wishing you a happy crafty woyww, Angela x12x

Your cards are so pretty and thanks for the adhesive tip. I never thought of that!

I like Doug's 'just because' - says a lot without saying much at all - so the stamp set should prove very useful. Your collection of goodies look lovely - especially those seedhead ones. The 'and finally' really made me smile because in my world it's so true. Hope you're keeping well. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23

True about the coffee!

I vacuumed my craft room today! The floor was embarrassing with bits of everything I made for the past 2-3 months!

Still loving the Lavinia Stamps you share.

Happy Wednesday!

Love that cat's face!
Great shopping and I loved the story of "Just Because" - how nice to send cards with that on rather than 'Thinking of you' - makes a lovely change and it has a nice ring to it.
Looking forward to the Jennifer M's cards that are on dark cardstock, in the meantime
Have a Good Week the two of you - just because.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Great stuff on the desk this week, Shaz! And I just love Doug's "Just because..." (Why do we always assume they're in trouble lol lol!!) We have a similar thing going back to when we were first going out. He bought me some flowers, and in his usual fashion of doing everything in too much of a hurry and not reading anything properly, the little card said "Glad it's a girl" hahaha!! When I asked him what that was all about he tried to cover his tracks and said "it means glad you're a girl" - well, I don't suppose he'd have been going out with me if I hadn't been lol! So after that every time he's given me flowers he's attached a "glad it's a girl" card!!

Your funny this week is brilliant. That face... Fortunately our kitties never look like that - far too sweet natured!

Thank you for your visit and your good wishes for my operation. I am hoping (when it eventually happens) that it will sort this intractable problem once and for all because it's already been repaired twice and each time it's involved a huge amount of trauma and hassle. And... I might even end up with a nice flat stomach, free on the NHS! (Not that I would recommend my method of getting one, mind you.) I hope you are getting on OK healthwise. Glad you enjoyed this week's kitty pics.

Happy WOYWW,
