WOYWW #516- The I'm Back Edition

Yes, back again, and only just! These bank holidays get very confusing, today has just felt like a Sunday, or maybe Monday, so I almost missed it. MIA last week, as we had a concert on Tuesday night booked in London, which meant driving down on Tuesday afternoon, and then a stopover, so hadn't done a post, or took my tablet with me. However, since we've been back I've been making some more stencil backgrounds to replicate some cards I made a while ago.
You probably remember seeing these, done with Honey Doo floral stamps.
Well, it crossed my mind that as well as doing florals, I could use Butterfly/Dragonfly stamps too, and I'm sure if I have a good look, I can find some other stamps that would work for this.

Made a number of them, and although the camera doesn't really show it well, the two blue ones and two red ones do use different colours. All Distress Inks.

These are also Distress inks.

These have a couple of Distress Inks, and some Adirondacks too.

Then I thought it might work well with a square stencil too.

And while I was at it, I pulled out another couple of stencils too. These are mainly Distress Oxides. I'm thinking there may be fairies involved with these!

The stencils are all from Clarity, as is the cardstock, which is their Stencil Card, and perfectly sized at 7" for the stencils.

Tickets have arrived for the Happy Stampers Festival in May, so looking forward to that, and seeing one or two WOYWWers there!

I was looking at my stats the other day, and discovered that my first blog post was on April 20th, 2010. So 9 years of blogging!

And so, I'm done. Which brings us to....And Finally......

Yep, I know that well. And the reverse resultant panic when what I thought was a hair on my arm, actually turned out to be a humongous spider!

I have those round & square clarity stencils, so useful. Don't they create great little windows for almost anything! Fab cards Shaz. Poor wee spider, he was only wanting to take a closer look at your crafty makes :))

Your stencil backgrounds are fabulous, Shaz. Love how the shading works, and don’t they look great with the co-ordinating stamping! What a great idea. Love the funny too... I always panic over creepy crawlers so can identify with that!! Hope you enjoyed the concert.

Really love what you've been doing with the stencils. I'm with you with the spiders....there's lots around at the mo too! I remember being hysterical when there was the biggest one ever crawling up the front of my dressing gown [with me wearing it at the time!]. All my darling hubby and son could do was laugh at me!!!
See you soon.
Hugs,

Now that’s a long hair hazard that I’d forgotten all about! Laugh! I love the way you start something and then carry on with other colours or shapes or textures, just to see if you can! Clever stencilling missus, they really look like boxes. Congrats on 9 years of blogging, i assumed you’d been doing it forever!

Oh NO! Not a humongous spider for real!!! Just don't mention falling hair - I seem to shed more and more these days - blame it on medication!
Love all your circles - some gorgeous ice-cream colours there. Whenever I see something like this in pretty pastels I think of ice-cream - don't ask why - it is not that I am an ice-cream fan either!
Have a lovely week and see you soon.
Hugs, Neet 18 xx

Your cards are gorgeous - such a brilliant idea and so effective - I can just see them with butterflies or dragonflies on too. I love the quote this week, especially as I sleepily slapped my arm the other night thinking a money spider was running over it and there was a huge splat - I think I had squished the King Kong of spiders - that didn't half wake me up quickly!
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana x #21

Such cool blended backgrounds! 9 years of blogging is quite an accomplishments - sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe that I've been doing it for the better part of 5 years (since I have commitment issues LOL) but I wish I had discovered blogging and being creative earlier, because I think it would have given me purpose and direction when I needed it most but I'm just grateful that I have discovered it at all. I'm not a big fan of spiders either! I can deal with the little ones but the big ones freak me out. Happy #516 and thanks for your visit! zsuzsa #24

Mm you started 6 and half months before me, if my maths is correct, which I never really do trust Shaz, well done!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 my 9th is 01.11.19, as date of starting was a palindrome.01.11.10 😆😁
Ah recognise those Distress inks there! I also was using Distress inks this week and stencils but not together! Love your soft shading looks great.
Guess you used your new make up brushes? I didn’t blog last week, wasn’t up to it, the fall was still affecting me a lot, had last two days better though. A blessing.
Off to bed.. after shower. Do everyone else tomorrow or so on!
It’s ANZAC Day here tomorrow.

Nighty night, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Thanks for your return visit, Shaz, and I'm glad you like my flowers. My tooth (or absence thereof!) seems to be settling down really well already - I just realised I'd forgotten to take any pain relief at lunch time and by mid-p.m. still don't need it. I'm doing the salt water mouthwashes and eating soft food and I'm sure it will be fine by the weekend.

Thank you for the heads-up on the "comment" button on my new blog. I've now changed the colour and it's fully visible. I hadn't realised how difficult it was to spot. You weren't the only one to remark on it - great constructive criticism! There are bound to be a few tweaks along the way till it's as it should be. Anyway, you shouldn't have any further problems seeing it.

The hair spider made me laugh!! Even though I'm not scared of them, it should make me jump too. The different colours of the stencils are fun, you look like you had fun with those! Looking forward to seeing you in June.

What fun card bases!!! Love the flowers but butterflies and dragonflies would be gorgeous, too! Had a laugh with the hair spider. Been there, done that. Now trying to get rid of a mouse. Ugh.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Like what you are doing with the stencils - a very clever idea of how to use them. The circle stencil on my desk is also from Clarity. That funny so rings true for me - as my granddaughter would say, I don't do spiders, whatever size they are. Have a great, spiderless, week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #32

Hi Shaz, the stencils look great. I have the clarity stencil card, but mine never turn out as nice as yours! Another area that needs more practice! I got my ticket for Happy Stampers today, so hopefully see you there. Have a lovely week Heather x #9

After reading this post, I checked back and found that you were two months ahead of me. My first post was on my birthday, 11th June 2010. It seems so long ago. You have been very busy with all your inky pieces. I need to get inky again, but I have several commitments to fulfil first. Have a good week. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #26

oh my gosh, I totally get that. ( my hair hits my elbows from the back when I bend over sometimes) and I can just see your cat jump impersonation hitting the ceiling from finding it was a spider.

I love those stenciled backgrounds too the color is so soft looking I like how it flows on them. ~Stacy #34

Argh! Spiders! What is it about them that makes us all so scared? I can just about deal with little ones but anything else gives me the creeps. You have been busy with those lovely little stencilled backgrounds - so pretty. xx Jo
