WOYWW #496= The Writers Cramp Edition.

Yep. Writers Cramp. Because I'm way ahead of myself this year, and have been sat writing out- and posting- our Christmas Cards! Go me!
And this is part 2. Yesterday I wrote and posted 67 to the UK and abroad. Good job I'd been buying the occasional book of stamps throughout the year, so the only postage I actually paid yesterday was for the foreign ones. Think I'd probably have fainted at the price otherwise. Today I sat and wrote 33 for work colleagues of ours.
And finishing off with another 21 for family, that'll get hand delivered. Until names start popping up I've forgotten. Now I know why I used to get sick of the idea of Christmas cards when I left them till November.  I'm left with about two dozen, for any I've forgotten, or to go towards next year.
I'll be later visiting today, as I'm doing something I haven't done for more years than most of you have probably been alive,😁. I'm going to the hairdressers! I will still be red, purple & blue, but the purple & blue have gotten so dark now that the colours don't show properly, so it needs bleaching. And that's a job for an expert, having had a couple of close squeaks with it in the past, Doug won't go there now. The hairdresser I'm going to is Ellie, the lady whose wedding photos I showed a few weeks ago.Almost said girl, as I've known her since she was at school with my eldest, but as they are both in their 40's now, that would have been silly. The last time I set foot in a hairdressers, I was still in my mid teens!
So no crafting yet. The Brusho sheets from last week have been sat under a glass mat, with the box of cards on top to flatten out a bit.
Our squirrels are quite tame really, and aren't afraid to come quite close- this one is about 12 feet away. We have what is obviously a pair, as they will both be here at the same time quite happily. Then there is another pair who visit, and if the two who have claimed our garden as their territory are here, then there's a lot of chasing the interlopers off up and down trees going on. They are funny to watch when they're annoyed about something. They sit on the fenceposts, stamping their back feet like rabbits do, and the tails are waving about like crazy. And I never realised they make as much noise as they do! They make quite a racket when they're annoyed, or trying to warn something off.
So thats it from me this week, I'll be linking up at Julias place, The Stamping Ground, and round to see you all later.

 Which just leaves.....And Finally...............

I only added 4 to my total this week.. need another count up and then the dreaded writing... that's a good idea about the stamps thoug, although I do like to use the special Christmas ones; but as you say, the cost adds up.... Good luck at the hairdressers and hope we see the "afters" Helen #?

Oh, shush about the card, lol, I haven't written a single one yet...that was a clever idea about buying the stamps throughout the year, shall borrow that one for 2019! Good luck at the hairdressers, Ellie sounds just the person for you, let us see some pics afterwards.

It really does pay to collect those stamps Shaz as they never devalue so we are saving each time the price goes up and that little saving can go towards the cost over the overseas ones!!
I hope all those who receive appreciate all your hard work, you've done a marvellous job.

Morning Shaz. Love that "and finally"!!! I know just what it means... Well done on all the Christmas cards. I currently have 6 left - that's not many - but does mean I have a few if I suddenly remember anyone else. Yes, mine are all posted now - and I also swallowed very hard at the cost of 6 foreign cards, and 60 British ones - just got to deliver all the North Wales ones by hand - should have been today, but the weather is against that grand idea! The Welsh is "M'aen pystyllio mawr" - quite a graphic description of "it's raining heavily"! (pronounce the "y"s as a short "i", as in "list"!!! You get the picture...
Hope all goes well at the hairdresser! A bit of a shock to the system?
Take care. God bless.

Well done you with all the cards....I'm still hoping to make enough to go round but may have to buy a few as time is fast running out and sewing demands are increasing by the minute!
Hope all goes well at the hair dressers....Doddy had his hair cut at the barbers at the weekend for the first time since we met ....cost him 7 Pounds [1 for the cut and the other 6 to search for hair :-) :-) ]....I doubt he will be going there again lol.
I really can relate to your funny this week.
Hugs,

Well done Shaz in getting ahead with the cards. The cost is mesmerising, thankfully I've only two abroad cards to post, but the cost was eye watering.
I'm off to post all of my cards later today, Kate x

Thank you for your card received safely - haven't opened it yet as I wait until after my birthday to open all the Christmas Cards - like having two birthdays!!
Love all your cards you've been making, I always have a catch up when I visit on Wednesdays. Love the idea of using diecut frames
Take care and stay warm

Hello Shaz! I hope your hair saloon appoint excels your expectations. I have had some coloring mishaps myself so I know what you mean. You are a card-making machine! That's a lot of cards. A few years back I decided I would send off photo cards and then only make cards for my crafty friends and family that really appreciate the cards and not toss them on Dec. 26! That has alleviated the stress and hand cramps for sure. But looking at your beauties really do make me smile. Have a blessed day my friend!

I couldn't face the cost of the stamps so I sent my hubby to get them, luckily for me he seems to have forgotten I owe him the cash Lol! but will have to remind him soon. I bet you enjoy your visit to the hairdressers, I'm off there tomorrow. Great card collection and loving the funnies too. Have a great woyww, Angela x16x

Love your funny this week - it is especially good!
Wow, Shaz, didn't know you had not been to a hairdresser in so long - Doug has always done such a good job so it will be great to see what this young lady can do. Good luck|!
Thank you so much for the gorgeous Christmas card that arrived today - hope to get mine off by Monday as I am away at weekend and need to get some meals in the freezer for Chas before I go - oh heck - need to get the ones abroad off now.
Hugs, to you both

Wow that is quite a list of cards Shaz. I'm afraid my list is short these days. I put one up at work. Make special ones for family and make a donation to charity in lieu of all the postage. Good luck with the hairdressers. I look forward to seeing the results. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Thanks for your fab card Shaz - I really must get going on mine - even Ben is one step ahead of me this year - he was wet felting with Max today and created a fab piece to cut up for Christmas trees on his cards. Mmm I might steal his idea!! xx Jo

Well done you on the Christmas card front - and what a good idea buying stamps through the year, I must try and remember that for next year. Love the anecdote at the end, sadly all too true!
Have a great week,

Oh my! You have been busy! That's a LOT of Christmas cards! I have a dozen but I have problems making more than 2 - 4 of 1 style. Guess it's because I need blog material, LOL!
Can't wait to see your hair! I go twice a year because I try to keep my hair shoulder length or less. Gave up on the coloring and now I'm a silvery grey.
I love your quote this week! Can relate! LOL!
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

I laughed and laughed over the joke at the bottom Shaz... and I hope the trip to the hairdressers is everything you want it to be. ( every time I go I end up with hair cut off to my ears so, I stopped going maybe 20? years ago? something like that) :) Love that you have squirrels too, ( we have lots of tweety type birds to watch in our yard) but, my mom had grey squirrels in MN when I was a teen so, I remember that watching them times. ~Stacy #28

Oh Shaz, you brave thing. I hate hairdressers as much as the dentist - they are all far to 'scissor happy' (yes I am including the dentist!) I have always had long hair and one time I went to a posh hairdresser in town, and they got my hair caught up in the dryer, which had to be taken apart to release me (those days were before health and safety) - since Mum died I cut it myself now. Never had it bleached, but, like you, I would go to the experts. You have obviously not read 'Hair' by Susan J Vincent - there are stories in there would make your toes curl (let alone your hair!) about the early days of 'hairdressing'.
We have noisy squirrels too - usually 'chipping' to passing dogs.
Bye for now.
Love
Maggie (Yorkite)

Hi Shaz, thank you so much for visiting me and the great Xmas card. You are so kind to remember me.

Can't wait to see your hair!!! Hope you are going to share a photo . Hugs Anne X #19

Hi Shaz, wow that is a long time since you have been to a hairdresser. I hope you post a pic of the new hair colours! Cute peacock address book! I need a new one, but I might make one rather than buy one. Great idea about buying stamps throughout the year - like Jan I might borrow that idea for next year. I haven't even made enough cards yet, let alone written any. I'll have to do the ones for Canada this weekend or I'll miss the deadline for posting. Thanks for stopping by earlier. I'm not 100% decided on an electric die cutting machine, but it would make life a bit easier I'm sure. I'll look up the Vagabond and compare to the other two, thanks. Have a lovely week Heather x #14

LOL I've just read Angela's solution to the rising postage costs - sounds like something I would have done! That is a lot of cards indeed and I feel so lucky to be one of the recipients! It looks so perfectly crafted! Good luck at the hairdressers - I hate going myself and for years I cut my own hair until recently when I decided I wanted a nice bob but I can't afford to have it trimmed every month! I'd rather use the money to buy craft supplies! Show us your new hair do next time! That squirrel looks well fed LOL! Probably stealing all the bird food, I expect! Have a lovely week Shaz! zsuzsa #6

Hi, Shaz! I came across your name and link on Splitcoast Stampers. Because I am a died in the wool anglophile, I had to see where it led. Love everything I saw! You are obviously younger and more energetic than I. You get so much accomplished! And all of it well done! Brilliant!

I hope all went well at the hairdressers.. I don'love going there and am postponing it for the third month now... but I have thick hair that really needs to be cut by a professional now. But I think it will be ok to leave it 'till January... Good for you, writing all those cards. The postal prices are crazy here in Holland. My mum send me 20 stamps last week and I decided that will have to do... I will make a list of 20 'fave people' and the others will have to settle with an online wish. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, big hug from Holland. Marit #21

Squirrels are so much fun to watch! We do that a lot in the summer, and even name some of the ones we can recognize. Sometimes one will come right up on the porch to drink from Inky's water dish, with Inky and I watching from a nearby chair! Such brave little things (or cheeky!). I have put Cleo on the list of names for the new kitten! Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #2
