Donations preferred over flowers please

I have been asked about flowers etc for Sharon's funeral..

We will of course be having some on top of the coffin, and if you feel like you would very much like to do something in memory of Sharon please donate to either Cancer research UK or Wolf Watch UK or both.

You guys know the history of sharon and cancer, but let's talk about the wolf side (no she is not part wolf) but she did love them, so much so that I adopted one for her through wolf watch UK, this Wolf called Pepe sadly passed away in 2017 but before that we went out to see him.

A nice day out in 2009 to visit wolf watch
featuring Maddah

Pepe was a male Timber wolf  bourn in west Midlands safari park back in 2004, where he was ousted in a scuffle for dominance.

Pepe lived out the rest of his days at wolf watch where he was able to roam the vast 100 acre with a beautiful valley on the shropshire/welsh border.

In Sharon's memory I have adopted 2 new wolves  Bosch and Sansa, and plan on continuing to do so going forward.

Meet Bosh, Bosch is a grey wolf (almost silver) and is not quite a year old born in may 2020, he was owned privately until the human malware pandemic meant that his owner could no longer afford to look after him.

He has been well socialised and extremely well cared for.

Bosch is settling in nicely in his new home and has a delightful nature. He appears to be quite comfortable around women but is cautious of men he has not met before.

Sansa is as the name suggests is a female, born  April 2016, she is a Norwegian wolf, hence why I was drawn to her.

She is inquisitive, and likes to know what is going on, and is typically the first to investigate food, or chase of birds trying to steal the meal.

Sansa is a wild wolf, and not social at all, although she is getting used to people passing by the enclosure.

Funny thing about the Norwegian bit, take a look here

Wolf Watch was established in 1993 by the founder Tony Haighway, and has been a safe haven for displaced  wolves ever since. It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, welfare and conservation of displaced wolves from captive situations across Europe.

Please use the links below to donate , thank you

WOYWW #218

So how is everyone this lovely Wednesday? I'm guessing here that its a nice day- I'm writing this on Tuesday afternoon, lol. Stroll over to the Lovely Julia's, at The Stamping Ground, and join in this delightful cruise around the crafting desks of the world, messy or tidy, ( the messier the better, tidy makes some of us feel guilty!), we love to see what everyone is up to.
Two things I spotted over the last couple of days, wandering the net, as you do. Two of our friends on here had great weeks- Maisie Moonshines name was on the list of winners for the Tim Holtz Tags of 2013, August, this week, and Chris at Pearshapedcrafting won the Artistic Stampers July challenge! We all know how fabulous our friends are, lovely to see their creativity being rewarded.
 So, my desk then.
It was while browsing the various challenges, that I saw on Clarity Stamps that their challenge this month is Animals. I have two sizes of her Wolf stamp, so decided I'd have a go this month. Only got as far as stamping the image, and I'm not sure yet which one I will use. I used a variety of cardstock to stamp on, but all were stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black, so I could use a waterbrush over them to just pull some colour into the image.I can just about handle that sort of colouring. The three on the lower right are on Clarity card, using the Acrylic plate stamping method from a few posts ago as a background for the image. Its a fairly glossy cardstock, but it worked quite well. The top right one is stamped onto a marbled cardstock, and the left hand one is just on a plain white background. One or two I'm not overly happy with how the colour pulled in, one or two sharp lines- I might try a little more blending. Then again, maybe I'm being overly picky & precious- its only card & ink!
In my net browsing, I found myself on Pinterest ( how surprising!), and looking at some humorous pins. I saw this one, and instantly thought of all my WOYWW friends! So here, ladies, is the perfect answer for why we have untidy craft rooms-
You see, a perfectly logical & sensible reason for it. Its a self defence thing.
My Buddleia, commonly known as The Butterfly Bush, has been living up to its name this year, its been covered in Peacock Butterflies. Dozens of them over it, along with a few cabbage whites.
But here's a question for all the Brits on here-
have any of you seen any Ladybirds this year?
I haven't seen a single one anywhere, not even during those really hot summery days.
Probably could have been briefer, sorry Julia- its a good job I'm writing, not talking, lol. You'd be here for days, rofl! Have a fab Wednesday, catch up with you all later.

The Call of the Wild

Well, thats one month gone already! and the first resolution (starting on Christmas cards) has fallen at the first fence, so I'm afraid that does not bode well for the rest of the year. Ah well. I will console myself with the idea that its the thought that counts, and my intentions WERE good, and apparently I was right about the old saying about good intentions.
Time to rejoin the world of desktop snooping, with all my blogging friends, courtesy of Julia Dunnit at The Stamping Ground again.

Just a quick card this week, and it really was quick & simple.Took me 20 minutes, I think. The Wolves stamp, Coronado Island, Shi & Mi, SJ151-JL, was stamped in Memento Black onto a grey marbled piece of card. Matted onto black, then white, and mounted onto a base card made from the grey marbled card. The Wolf Post stamp, same company, stamped onto a scrap of card, and added after the black & white ribbon. All the Coronado Island stamps are U/M now, which I like, but originally they had wood-mounted and U/M, and if you like realistic animal stamps, they have a gorgeous selection.
Imagine is a Vap! Scrap stamp that I bought as a set of a dozen or so,mainly single words like Dream, Wish Believe etc. which I don't make as much use of as I should. I love wolves, as you have probably guessed, and Black & White is definitely my favourite colour combo.
I chose the word 'Imagine', because if I had to choose to be something other than a human being in my next life, I would want to return as a wolf- and I do imagine what it would be like to run through the night, feeling the wind on your nose, ruffling your fur......

Back to reality, and E-bay got me again this week, as I found another Tim set, which I got for a fiver, so I was pleased at that.
Finally, this weekend, the 5th, sees my first project for the Craft a Scene DT, so I shall be posting that on Saturday, as that should fall in with the time zone issue.
By the way, thank you Julia for the info on how to schedule a post, and to ShazinOz for e-mailing me with the answer. I had been doing ok up till the last bit, when I had been clicking on 'Save', instead of 'Publish'! So I am going to try again tonight- Wednesday is the only day I actually willingly get out of bed so I can come & link & post- every other day I drag myself out at the last minute- we have to be at work for 6 o'clock, so I give myself just enough time for a coffee & a couple of cigarettes before leaving home. I can carry on getting my caffeine levels up to normal when I get to work :).
So Wednesdays routine is: get out of bed, go downstairs, on the way past my craft room, turn my PC on, go down to the kitchen and put the kettle on,(we have an old Victorian 3 floor house and our bedroom is on the attic level) go back up & put my password in, go back down and make the coffee, go back up (with the coffee) and post and link. I'm knackered before I get to work on Wednesdays.
OK, fingers crossed all I shall have to do in the morning is Mr Linky! See you all later, have a great day!!!
