Lavinia Stamps Mosaics

Two cards here using some of my favourite stamps and definitely my favourite colour scheme in this one. I randomly stamped a bunch of Lavinia Stamps onto white card using Onyx Black Versafine.
 Then I used a Woodware punch to cut out as many pieces as I could get out of the images.

 Square punches are a bit odd, when you buy them.












The one I used for this was described as a 1"punch when I bought it, but the sides measure 1 1/4". I bought another 1" punch, but the sides of that  are 3/4", its the corner to corner measurement that is an inch. I haven't actually found a 1" punch that gives 1" sides yet. Its easy to cut them with a ruler, I know, but a punch is quicker.
 The squares were matted onto black card, in a grid. I use some thin strips of card I cut for the purpose, to keep my lines straight, with a ruler at the top & side.




It was trimmed to leave a border roughly the same as the joints between the squares.The sentiment was stamped in Onyx black again onto a scrap of white card, matted onto black, and some black acrylic hearts added.







The Mosaic panel went on to a white square card base. with some black &white eyelash wool wrapped around the cards spine.

I wanted to add some colour to the next one, so I stuck a selection of squares down onto scrap paper with repositionable tape.I added the colour with Inkylicious Colour Duster brushes, Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Shaded Lilac and Salty Ocean.










                          I matted them up onto black card again, in the same order.

Trimmed the matt down, added it to a square card base again, and some multi coloured wool added to the spine. I treated a scrap of card with the same colours, then stamped the sentiment onto it, and added clear acrylic hearts this time.

WOYWW #209

So, here I am, bright & early. Only bright because I'm still awake from Tuesday, lol. First week of night shift, and I'm loving it. Seems a bit weird, going to work one day & coming home the next, and going to bed & getting up the same day, but thats fine, I can do weird. Without any difficulty. Possibly to degree level, :). This weeks post-crop desk stalk starts here, at The Stamping Ground, with our fab Hostess, Julia.
 So, my desk then:

 

Unpacking what I came home from the Crop with- a lovely stamp put on the swap table by Mary Ann, a fab image of a Boot House- think  'There was an old woman who lived in a Shoe', which Debs gave me, I think she said it was a digi- stamp, but I may be wrong. I often am. A selection of die-cuts- a couple of Memory Box ones, a bagful of Jigsaw die cuts, which was another of Debs dies- never seen this before, it was a Provocraft one. Some Tim die cuts- windows/arches, with the leftovers as a stencil. A few embossed sheets using  ' Bird Call'  embossing folder. Raffle tickets- yes we ALL took them home for later use, rofl. Crafters ( Hoarders) to the core!

 I posted the link for the DIY Silicone mould making recipe in the previous post, for anyone who wanted to have a go. I might just possibly go and have a try at making up a small batch to see how it works. Have a great Wednesday.

Okay, I happily admit it- I'm completely behind today. I only realised a couple of hours ago it was Wednesday, not Tuesday. Blame the Bank Holiday, and having to swap shifts yesterday from lates to earlies!. So my desk is displaying my ATC's- almost finished! They would have been finished, if it really had been'  Tuesday. Never mind.
I will post up a How I did them' later in the week, and I'll keep this short & sweet. The post below this is for the interest of anyone coming to the crop- dies & folders I'll be bringing with me, so bring your own cardstock/paper/chipboard, and go home with some shapes.

Madness in the Smith household this morning.

'Merlin has just spent the last half an hr setting up a shop in the front room.
 After it was announced that the shop was open,
my hubby ran in shouting 'this is a robbery....give me all your money'.
Don't think she was expecting that!

FAO all those going to the WOYWW Crop....

I had a thought yesterday- yes, that was the strange phenomenon that probably caused all the bad weather- about the crop. I thought I'd bring along my Cuttlebug & embossing folders, for anyone who wants to emboss themselves some card/paper. I e-mailed Julia, to say I'd also bring my Nesties & Tim dies, if someone would have a Big Shot to cut the Tim Dies with. Julia has said she will bring hers, and has volunteered to be Mistress of Cutting Duties for the day. So here is a photographic list of the dies & folders I'll be bringing with me:
 










A bit of a selection there!
For anyone mad enough to be considering their Christmas cards already(!), there are Tim Strip dies of Snowflake Rosettes, 2 types, and the Evergreen Garland. Also, Movers & Shapers Reindeer & 25. Theres also Nesties Heirloom Ornaments,which is a long bauble shape, as well as Layered  Pointsettia.
There are 3 sizes of normal Tim Rosettes, and Tattered Florals in Bigz, Movers & Shapers & strip die, with Tattered Leaves to go with them.Also, the Bigz die Tag & bookplates.Two sizes of ticket strips as well.  There are a number of Tim embossing folders, and the Diffusers set will be among them too. ( I’ll remember to pack the sellotape!) So bring along your card, paper & chipboard –you could even bring your Fun Foam & cut & emboss yourself some shadow stamps, lol. and if anyone else wants to bring dies, that’d be great. we’ll have a huge shape swap :) I’ve also got some older Sizzix dies in there, the one with the four hearts on is what I use for cutting out hearts to triple emboss.The gifts one is very useful for Christmas & birthdays, and the Golf clubs set for any golfers you know. There is a Christmas stocking too. That would be good cut from felt, I keep thinking. Another nice Nestie die is the Delicate Aster- it looks gorgeous cut from vellum & stacked up. And if anyone has seen a stamp image I've used, they'd like to stamp some images from, let me know in a comment, or e-mail me, and I'll bring it along too.
