Yep, because that's a thing. Of course, maybe if I did all the stamping/ putting in inserts to my cards
and sorted out the envelopes, and bagged them up when I made them, instead of putting them to one side ' to do later on', I wouldn't have found myself with a card mountain that needed sorting.Mainly a general assortment of cards, but also a decent- or indecent, depending on your point of view- amount of Christmas cards too. So that's been my job for the last couple of days.
Last ones on my desk now are all the Christmas ones.
It would of course make my job easier if I didn't do so many different sizes of cards, or in so many orientations.Or if I did it when I made them.๐
Maybe next time. Most likely not, though. Know your limits, I say.
You may also spot a storage tin on the left, with the new Archival pads in Distress colours. Because yes, I'm a TH fan girl.
I'd asked my local craft store, Amelias, if they'd be getting them, and she said yes, so I'd asked- on FB- if I could pre-order the set, and a storage tin. She replied that I could, and about 3 other people had seen the message and replied to her Me Too, lol. Anyway, she messaged me Friday to say they were in, so we popped up to collect them. And stamps may have fallen into my basket as well.๐ And a dragonfly die too.
The Paper Artsy one with the elephant is super cool, and sort of a pre release. They got them when they went to the Frankfurt show, and can sell them, just not allowed to put them for sale on their website till the launch in a week or so. In other good news for them, Nikki (owner) posted yesterday that Amelias won Best Independent Craft Store 2019 in the Craft Business Awards. Really pleased for them, they've worked so hard to build the business, as they took it over when the previous one was failing, and they've really turned it around.
In other shopping news, lol, came across this tube of glittered washi tape in The Range. I admit I've never got into washi tape, just doesn't do it for me, but I *may* have been attracted by the glitter๐.
The general card mountain, all with inserts ready for bagging. I tend to bag them just to keep them clean till I need them.
And I'm going to need a bigger storage box, lol. It's so full, it's pips are squeaking. And I've still got a million UFO's to make up, and a lot of ideas for more too.
So I think I'll be bringing the whole box to Junes Crop10, and any sales will go to the days charity.
Hubbys Valentine card is in this post HERE.
Last weekends Christmas cards HERE,
So, I think I'm done, oh in reply to those who asked about the colouring last week, no I don't intend using them on cards or anything, the books are really just practice for me to get better at colouring so I can colour images for cards without getting the heeby jeebies! And in a statement I never ever thought I'd make, colouring with pencils is so relaxing! I can easily lose a couple of hours doing it.
I'll be leaving my link as always with our Beloved Leader Julia, over at The Stamping Ground, and I'll be round to see what everyones been up to later on.
Which brings us round to......And Finally........
So apt for this week!

Well done for grabbing the inks, and I love the Efilump (they've been launched now though I haven't yet seen anyone with them for sale)
Well done too for getting your cards sorted and ready for use!! Helen #1
Heehee, I love the end quote (although I DID finish my sisterhood journal project - the fact of which I am very proud!!)
I love washi tape, so it'll be interesting to see how you get on with the glitter rolls...
Happy WOYWW :)

What a gorgeous array of cards you have to share this morning Shaz. You are so talented especially when it comes to card making. I recognise some of the flowers as being the ones Amanda and Kay demonstrate and yours are beautifully done, you should sell your work professionally.
Great shopping and congratulations to Amelias on their award.
Hugs, Neet xx
I laughed at a couple of things in your post today - firstly the enjoyment of colouring, why is it that I feel guilty if I just sit and do that for a while? Is it because it isn't a project as such? Dunno, I'm just weird. The And Finally made me snigger too, that ain't ever going to happen in my craftroom :-)
I will be buying lots of your cards in June as I get through quite a few as I'm birthday card monitor for the WI, lol! I was so pleased to see that Amelia's won the award - I'm making a stance and not buying anything from Amazon until they start paying taxes like all us poor bu£$%rs have to. Gordon, having paid tax all his life now has to pay it on his pensions as well and that makes me mad!!! So I'm getting everything from smaller shops and hope that it helps because out local town is dying on its feet.
Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now :-D
Hope you and Doug are well, looking forward to seeing you in June xx
Hugs LLJ 8 xxx
Oh crikey Shaz, I just don't need to know about new TH ink pads - but I love the Distress colours and I love Archival pads so these sound like a match made in heaven for me! I love your cards, you have some absolute beauties there.
Hope you have a great week and good luck tackling the UFO's!
Hugs, Diana x #14
Shaz you have a great set of cards, I also do that, make different sizes and then usually I have to make a special envie, even the post lady told me not to make square cards, they cost more to post apparently, the thing is I find them easier to make.
Have a great week

I, too, need to finish the card insides while I'm making the card. And stamp the back with my info. Checked out your hubby's card, love it!! The link to your Christmas cards didn't work for me. And I LOVE that quote!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Funny,I have the inks and reinkers on pre order too long with the oxide sprays. Can't wait for them to arrive. Well done getting all your cards sorted. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
HI Shaz, ahh that is cool with the coloring. ( I get shivers when I try to paint) (lack of control) oh, the dust breeds here when I am looking so, I tend to find an envelope and put cards with an envelope in a clear envelope right after they finish drying as I have ruined some in the distant past for not doing that. So, that is kinda when my mess looks like when its time to mail out Christmas cards as they are all different and making decisions about who gets what is stressful. I love that elephant stamp that followed you home too :) ~Stacy #23
Hi Shaz, if you get around to putting inserts in all your cards you do better than me. I have good intentions but the reality is quite another thing. I think you will have plenty of customers at the crop - your cards are all beautiful. Sounds like Amelias is a great shop to have nearby. I don't have a local craft store anymore - The Range is our nearest and it's not the same. LLJ drew my attention to your 'And Finally' - it's so me. Hugs, Elizabeth x #19
PS: I spotted huge clumps of snowdrops out when driving through the countryside on Monday - they make my two wee clumps look minuscule but I have high hopes for them to increase year by year.
I'm sat here chuckling now....of course it's not my stamps that need putting away cos I don't use any but just about everything else does....and I've no energy to put them away now so that's a job for tomorrow.....maybe :-)
Hugs,
Annie x #11
Hi Shaz, loving the Valentine card and bet Doug did too. You will soon have enough cards for several Christmas seasons Lol! I'm not saying anything about card mountains either! Have a lovely woyww, Angela x13x
Hi Shaz, well done on tackling all those cards. I've always had colouring books on the go, I find it very relaxing, I'm tempted by the Prisma pencils after seeing your results, but I'll have to wait until I actually need some new pencils. I bought some not too long ago, so may be a while! I'm all for supporting independent retailers, so will check out Amelia's website. I don't use much washi tape on cards, but I do use it in my scrapbooking. I bought the same glitter ones, just to add a bit of sparkle. Thanks for stopping by earlier - we have the same problem, I can never remember my good ideas! Lol. Have a lovely week Heather x #17
I really suck at stamping/inking but am attrackted to stamps and ink any time I see it... since we moved to the city centre, I have a great crafting store around the corner but I 'forbid' myself to go there often as I wouldn't have money left to feed my beloved ;) Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, have a great day. Love from Holland, Marit #16
Wow-you have been busy! I love your Valentines card for your hubby, masculine but very romantic! I will have to look for those archival inks at my stamp store - I have a nice big gift card to spend! Thanks for your visit, sorry I'm late - work Wednesday, & bed rest yesterday, so that I can work today! Have a great week, Lindart #25
Sorry I’m late. The inks are a result I must say, I know how much use you’ll make of those. The washi tape is a surprise...I get the glitter bit though, so will watch with interest to see if you can make more of it than I ever do, mind you, I dont have any glittery ones. Am quite proud of my small was hi collection. - one embellishment that I actually Managed to resist because I couldn’t see me using it. And for once...correct! Although I do use it to stick paper onto my scan and cut mat, if that counts?!!
Well done with the inserts and bagging...a full box of useable cards is a great satisfaction. Mine currently has four in it!! I
Glad to see you getting hooked into the colouring. It is one thing that is guaranteed to keep me quiet and relaxed. I have a load of envelopes to make for all the non-standard sized cards that I seem to have made recently. That will not keep me quiet. Instead, it makes me cross that I did not think about that problem. Then I still have to bag them up. Have a good week. By the way, have you ordered that dress yet? xxx Maggie #22
LOL.. Love your quote. You're going to sneeze glitter LOL. I love my washi.. yet, I'm not a fan of the glitter ones. Will check out your card posts. Thanks for visiting this week. Hugs and Creative Blessings! Kelly #20
Happy Very Belated WOYWW. I admire anyone who still makes cards at all, let alone making Christmas cards in February! I seem to have totally lost the cardmaking bug. The only crafting I do now is a bit of rock painting, knitting when I go to the weekly group and craft workshops. My craft room is mainly an office now. Funny how life priorities change. Ali x #26
