WOYWW #358

Well that week flew past! Back again, linking up with Julia, at The Stamping Ground, as always.
So, What's on my Workdesk? What I'm actually working on, half finished, in fact, I can't post up yet, as the birthday involved isn't until this weekend.
I can show you something purchased this week, and then something purchased years ago, which I was using to make the card.

First off, this weeks purchase. Two Crafters Companion embossing folders, 8" square. Called 'Sunbeams' and 'Lightening'.
The second item, I bought a lot of years ago at a Hobbycrafts show at the NEC.

A selection of number templates, roughly 5 1/2" tall, and called Get In Shape Templates. A Google search comes up with Clevercut as the maker, but for some reason my antivirus is blocking the site. Anyway, these were out as the card is for a 50th birthday.
I can show you what the 'Sunbeams' folder embosses like, as that's one of the pieces for my card.

So this card will get posted up over the weekend, and there will probably be a card or two before that. There are a couple of Christmas cards below this post- I'm still making them!
One quick question, is anyone planning to go to The Happy Stampers Festival, at Port Sunlight? It's on Saturday the 7th May. I've never been to that one, or indeed any of the Happy Stampers festivals, but looking at the Exhibitors lists, it;s got a fantastic selection of stamp companies attending, so I'm seriously thinking of getting me & Hubby tickets, and would love to meet up with anyone else who will be there.

I love the Sunbeams embossing folder, and I also love the lightening one, although I would probably use it sideways as branches!
I hope you have a fab time at PS - it's a bit too far for us, but I would suggest you give yourself time to have a little mooch around the village, it's only small but the architecture is beautiful and the Lady Lever Art Gallery is a fabulous little gallery to visit. My grandmother was born and grew up in PS so I'm probably biased!
Hope you have a great week, looking forward to seeing the finished sunbeam card,

Hi Shaz, I love visiting you but I always feel guilty when I see you using stuff I know I've got and not used yet though it does encourage me to get them out and do something. Not going to Port Sunlight, never been there but I am going to the Newark and Doncaster shows, can't wait! Happy woyww, Angela x 16

Lovely goodies! It will be interesting to see those embossing folders in action! Never heard of that festival but thanks for the heads up. Sadly, it's out of our striking distance. I've never been to a craft show - can you believe it? Hope you have fun if you go! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #32

Nice embossing folders. I have some I (hang my head) haven't used. I seem to get an idea, buy something, get distracted and then I don't remember what project I had in mind when I purchased the supplies. Grrrr. I wish I was going to the stamping show - too far away in America lol.

Have a great week

Oh I like those embossing folders. Both of them. Looking forward to seeing the finished object.
Just looked at your other posts, with the Christmas cards. I love the wreath. And I never thought of using black as a card base but it works very well.
Thanks for your visit and your kind comment,
Happy WOYWW,
Lisca

Loving that sunbeam embossing folder! Isn't it wonderful that we can always justify buying crafty stash, because it gets used, always, just years later sometimes, but always used. :)

Hi, Shaz, wow, that's a great impression from the new embossing folder! I love the look of embossing. You must have a big machine to be able to accommodate something that size -- how fun. Happy week and thanks for your visit! ~ Laura #37

Hi Shaz, the new embossing folders are lovely ... I can see the lightening one being used at Halloween ... and I like those number templates too. Looking forward to seeing the card you're making. Just been reading the latest news on your cancer page ... I take just as long to read the weekend paper :) ... and hope that you've had your physiotherapy by now and it has helped. I'm still waiting for physio for my hands, etc., ... could be a long wait. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #33

I would love to be at PS, but of course, I won't be!! You should definitely go, I agree about the exhibitors list...it will be yummy! I thNK I prefer the Lightning folder, but am impressed that the sunbeams folder actually embossed with it creasing - I hate that.

Stacy Sheldon said...

Sadly, I am too far away to consider the trip... :)
grinning from ear to ear at the thought though,

I bet you could use those lightning as branches and add things to that too right?

Lovely embossing folders, Shaz. I see you've been having a lot of fun with embossing lately! I hope you enjoy the trip to Port Sunlight. I've never been there but have seen it on TV.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I am quite exhausted aftr my small bit of painting and all that shifting of stuff for the main decorating in the sitting room. We are nearly straight now, and once I've got the final bits and pieces back, I'll be blogging about it.

How are you these days? I hope you are getting on OK.

Happy belated WOYWW,
