WOYWW #359

Well, this is my desk right now. I've shown you this first, so you can see I did get things sorted! We are back again for our regular Wednesday round up of the desks from hell, otherwise know as WOYWW, all kept in some sort of order by our fantastic Hostess, Julia, over at The Stamping Ground.
On the left, a pile of images I am determined to get turned in to cards, at the back, 2 already done, on the right, one image and a stack of white & black card for layering.
In the posts below this one, there are a few cards I made towards last weekend, including one about how to avoid lines in your cardstock if you are embossing with a small folder, or border ones, so if you get time, you may want to have a quick look.
 OK, that was the good bit. Now you may need to brace yourself for the next few photos. This was my craft room over the weekend;

Besides my main workdesk, I have IKEA worktops in three other places in my room, two along walls, and one which is a table attached to an EXPEDIT unit, which I use as my cutting/embossing station.
This one on the right is the worktop in front of my inkpad storage.

The desk on the left here, is my main workdesk, and as you can see is an utter mess. The reason for all this  is that a lady I know from work has decided to give up crafting completely, and take up quilting, so she sent me an enormous tub full of loads of crafting stuff.

This on the right is my 'desk behind my desk'.

This is my cutting/embossing station. In order to get everything put away,it involved creating even more mess to start with.

Just so you know I was successful, this it what it looks like now:

Looking much better, with the easel I use for photographing my cards on.
This is my real desk, just before I started trying to finish some more cards.
The white turntable caddy at the back is something she gifted me, and I have to say, whilst I'd never bought one as I thought it unnecessary, I'm actually loving being able to have so much to hand in such a small space.
A small guillotine and my glass mat as well.If it's on the desk, it's possible I'll use it!

The  'desk behind the desk', showing a nice splash of sunshine on Tuesday afternoon.

My cutting/embossing station, clean & tidy.
I've found homes for Tattered Angels glimmer mists, a couple of dozen pots of embossing powder, mica powders, Cosmic Shimmers version of Liquid Pearls and Stickles, masses of tools, and loads more I can't even remember it all now.
Needless to say, despite her saying she didn't want anything for it, I've sent her a huge bunch of flowers, and a Hobbycrafts voucher.

And, finally, our tickets arrived yesterday for the Happy Stampers festival at Port Sunlight, so I've also booked us a hotel for Friday night, as Doug said we could drive up Friday afternoon and stay over. Really excited, as we get to meet our Neet!( And some purchasing of crafting items (mainly stamps I expect) may well be made. :)

P.S. Forgot to say that I might be missing next week, as we go off on holiday on Tuesday. Fly to Tenerife in the morning, but thinking about it, the ship doesn't sail until midnight on Tuesday, so might be able to do a post, it will depend on my tablet, and the ships wifi. We shall see. xx

wow, such goodies to be gifted - a huge well done finding homes for them all and your space looks lovely and tidy again. The easel you use for photographing your cards is a great idea - and it looks a useful size. Have a fab time at Port Sunny - I think you'll love it even without meeting Neet! Helen #?

So often when you get gifted things, it's usually stuff you know you'll never use...at least, it is with me and yarn...so I'm really happy that you are enjoying what was passed onto you. That caddy must be fab, I have a similar fabric bag which holds all my essentials. I couldn't do without it!! And hooray for the Port Sunlight tickets..have fun. Jealous that you are meeting Neet!!

Lovely craft room Shaz, it's nice to have work surfaces as well as storage (although I have to admit every bit gets covered when I'm in a crafting frenzy - which actually usually just means getting everything out, can't decide what to use and to scared to put it away in case I forget I wanted to use it). Although I'd like more space, I keep trying to convince myself that a bigger room would mean more walking about...........Loving those black and white cards. Happy Wednesday, Cindy #29

Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Sounds like fun to get away.

I like the look of the pile you have sitting there waiting to make into cards. The orangey one with trees looks great. Can't wait to see them made into cards.

Your whole room looks great. It looks like a wonderful place to craft in.

Another WOYWW desk with lots of nice pictures to check out. How fun! What a lot of stuff everywhere... and then you have it all put away nicely. I'll bet it was fun to sort through all the things from your friend. I love that splash of sun in your room. I like sunshine, but here in Arizona you don't want it beaming in on your things. It will fade them like crazy. Heck, it fades the paint off cars and houses. PJ #61

You've got some fabulous work space there - and I am coveting your cutting/embossing station - I would love an area set up just for that, as it's a bit of a pain getting it all out each time. The white on black card is just stunning, I do love that Art Nouveau style flower stencil (or stamp?).
I hope you have a great time on holiday - it sounds wonderful,

Just thinking that Chris (Pearshaped Crafting) usually goes to Port Sunny as well. There are others you might remember like Redanne - must get my thinking cap on and see who else I think could be there. Whilst there yu must have a look around Port tSunlight itself - the art gallery is fabulous and I am hoping to get to the museum soon (maybe that day with my other half later).
Shucks, this should be in an email not on here.
What an awesome craft area you have. I just imagine most folks to have a tiddly little space like mine but yours is enormous. Going now as I need to enlarge the photos and have a good old snoop.
See you soon.
Hugs, Neet xx 5

Wow Shaz, how absolutely wonderful to be given all that lovely stash! I am green with envy... although if it happened to me I haven't a clue where I'd put it all because I've got soooo much stuff lol! You were braver than me this week, revealing all and sharing photos of the chaos in your room - I was too ashamed of mine to do that until I'd tidied it up! The far side of the room where all my sewing stuff is is still a total tip, and I ran out of steam once I'd cleared the main work area and just wanted to start my painting. Your room looks amazing! You look as if you've got easily as much space, if not more, than I have in my lovely room. I am so glad that you are well and truly back in action again! It's been a long year or so for both of us, hasn't it, and I hope you are continuing to do well and getting your strength back.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I agree, narrow boat painting is so beautiful! I've always loved it, and it's not really so difficult to do. I've been experimenting a bit today with my Dylusions paints which seem to work quite well but my brushes are a major problem and I am ordering some new ones off Ebay. I'd rather use arylics than enamels if possible as the cleanup is easier, and I do have quite a lot of acrylics already.

Hope you have a good week, too!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #62

Wow! What a lovely big, well organised craft room you have! I can't see the floor in mine at the moment and have taken to crafting on the dining table instead! I also have loads of craft things in the kitchen, shed and garage too!

What a fantastic journey through your creative space! Your desk transformation is inspiring, and I love how you organized everything so meticulously. It’s wonderful to see the gifted items from your friend blend into your setup—especially that turntable caddy, which sounds super handy! The glimpses of your other workstations and the tools you’ve found homes for bring such a cozy, vibrant feel to your craft room. Also, the Happy Stampers festival sounds amazing—hope you pick up some lovely new stamps! Safe travels, and enjoy your holiday! (P.S. Your setup makes me think of how Corner Desks for Home can maximize every inch for creativity!)
