So, having glittered up all those Medallions, it was
definitely time to turn them into cards. I had already done one batch,
which I added a little dry embossing detail to, in this post, here.
I thought this time I'd try something different- I I fancied running
the card front through the Cuttlebug, in various embossing folders. So,
10 assorted card fronts here. I went with mainly geometric designs, as
that seemed to fit the medallions better.
The medallions were added with silicone glue- gives a bit of dimension, sticks to the glittery back of the image, and evens out into the embossed design of the card.
As I'd embossed the base card, I had to stamp & matt the Happy Birthday sentiments for these.
Then I started wondering if they were a little TOO plain? So I added ribbon to the left side.
Now I'm not sure at all. I think maybe it suits some, but not all. So I will leave it a few days and look at them fresh. It seems like some look unbalanced now- but its a simple fix if I really don't like them.
These were the original batch, with the sentiment stamped, and some ribbon.
This is before I added the ribbon.
List of Embossing folders I used:
Quickutz Diamond Dots, Lines & Dots, and Diamond.
Darice Honeycomb,Brick Wall,and Plaid.
Creative Expressions Lattice.
DoCrafts Tri Boss Checkerboard.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.

these cards have turned out really beautiful, I like the cleaness with the embossing and then the coloured glittered topper addes the dimention. It is only my opinion but I like them without the ribbon

Hi Shaz! You have been putting those lovely pieces to use I see. I love them and think they make great focal images. Just stunning. Thanks for the tip about the glue, I have not tried that, so I will look for some. They look great with/without ribbon, but I am leaning towards no ribbon, as the images are so striking I love seeming them alone I think... Either way, someone will love receiving them. Enjoy the week ahead!
Hi Shaz,
I'm veering towards no ribbon for men and with ribbon for the girls.
Lovely either way,
Rosie x
Stunning cards and love the embossed card fronts. I'm not a ribbon girl - love all the textures and colours but rarely use it and I think these cards stand not having ribbon. They are perfectly balanced with the beautiful colours of glitter and geometrical embossing.
