Not a huge difference to last week, to be fair. A few of the stamped images have been used up in the previous posts, a few more at the back waiting to get used.
Some shadow stamps I've dug out, I thought I'd give that a go at some point this week. I'm also going to have a go at making some out of fun foam, rather than buying any more.
On the left, a really exciting find in The Works!
 That mask shape is awesome, lol.
I love masks, I really do, and these decorate yourself ones are only 99p.
I also thought I could use it as a template to make some more, maybe papier mache, or with polymer clay or air drying clay. We shall see,my craftroom is stuffed to the gills with good intentions.
The reason I was in The Works- Tell the truth, why don't I, I'm always popping in there, no excuse needed,- is that its Mikeys girlfriends birthday today, so I needed a pressie. She loves drawing, and The Works always has loads of good art stuff. I got her a fold-up easel/art stand and one of those mini-mannequins I had on my desk a couple of weeks ago. Then spotted those masks.Seemed rude not to bring one home.

This is the corner of my desk, artfully overflowing onto my rubbish bin.Makes a useful stand for trays of stuff, I've discovered.
Actually there are two bins, a rubbish one & a recycling one, so in an emergency I have two stands!
You can see my box of embossing folders on top of a drawer unit, I thought I would actually use them more if they were in my line of sight, and it does seem to be working. Now all I need to do is put everything in my room in arms reach, and I'll be using all sorts of forgotten treasures.
Well, it might work.
The tray on the desk has some sheets of cardstock I've sprayed with mica mists, and the one on the bin is full of alcohol inked sheets.Those little DL document pockets are ace for keeping scraps in.

I said Mikeys girlfriend, Katy, likes to draw. This is a piece she did for me back last year.
 Mikey commented to me last night, that he and Katy were talking the other day about this drawing she did me, a cat with one eye hidden.
And what did they end up adopting? A one eyed cat- how weird is that?

Birthday Steampunk

Another card from one of my stamped up pieces. The main panel was an inked piece of glossy card- just Distress  Inks swiped onto a craft or Splodge Away mat, then the white card dragged through, or dipped onto it. Its overstamped in Black Versafine when dry, with an assortment of paper Artsy stamps.
 Then I decided to cut it into squares and matt it as a mosaic, onto black card.
 The base card was covered in a sheet of black paper that had been sprayed with a Purple mica mist spray.
I added a torn strip of paper from the Chronology paper pack, which is a sort of dirty purple colour.

I sponged on some more colour to it with DI in Dusty Concord & Chipped Sapphire.

Then ran it through the Cuttlebug in the Clockworks Cuttlebug folder.




I brought out the embossing detail by swiping the Chipped Sapphire pad over the raised areas.

This was added to the card front with DST, then the mosaic panel added on top.
An assortment of metal embellishments were added with Glossy Accents along with a triple embossed heart.
 The Birthday word, from Chocolate Baroque, was stamped & heat embossed onto a scrap of the inked card.

Well, I'm back again, after missing last week completely. I lost track of the days, and was convinced it was Tuesday,lol. First picture up is the card I made for my Beloved Husbands birthday. The dragon (Tanda Stamps,Dragons & Fantasy Set 4),was stamped onto acetate, with Staz-on, then stuck onto a double sided sticky sheet,(Stix2). I added gilding flakes in Copper Thunder, from Crafty Notions, onto the back, which gave a good appearance of scales, I thought.The dragon is mounted onto a sheet of black card which I sprayed with various mica mists, and the frame is from a Robert Adams craft CD, called Celtic. It is supposed to be an insert, but I resized it to make the centre big enough for the dragon, then cut out the white centre and placed the misted card behind the space.
  As I think I have said before, my Hubby & I share the same birthday, which is odd, but at least he can't forget mine, and get himself into trouble, lol.
         Here are the two cards we received from Silvercrafter,(Marg ) and her Husband:

These three were made by our Grandchildren, Mortimer & Merlin, and by my eldest son. Merlin's is on the left, Mortimers in the middle, and my eldest sons is decorated with a picture of the much-loved Bill.

Now for some other stuff, on Saturday I went to a local craft shop, Pink Tulip Creations, as they had a Letraset demonstrator there, working with Promarkers, Safmat etc.  Her name was Rosie, and her blog, Freycob, has lots of tutorials for using Promarkers, if anyone needs some help.
I have mentioned before, I know, that Marg & I are co- mother-in-laws, (my son is married to her Daughter.) As you all see, Marg & I enjoy our card-making, and dabble in other crafts as well. The thing is, we have clearly spawned between us, quite an artistic gene-pool. Her Daughter is a very talented artist, and has the neatest, tiniest writing you can imagine.I think she could probably get this whole post on the back of a postage stamp- and you would still be able to read it. My son has built models and drawn since he was a toddler. He hoarded boxfuls of bits & stuff to build spaceships, scenes, landscapes- you name it.He also has an HND in graphic design, and works as an editor at the BBC. If you ever see the name Ant Smith on the end of things like The Sky at Night, Gardeners World, Big Hairy Bikers, and a lot more, THAT'S MY SON!!!!(Proud parent? You bet!). Well, they have always encouraged their kids to do art & crafts, and spent time doing stuff with them- as you can see they did the Birthday Cards, they also do all the Christmas cards as well. You probably remember from a couple of weeks ago, I did a post about Ants birthday, and the canvas I printed for him. Well, it seems canvases were the' in' thing this year. Mort & Merlin both did one for there Dad, and here they are:

This one was Merlins, who was 9 in July, with just a little help from Mum.

And this one was Mort's, done all by himself, and he was 11 yesterday.



Occasionally, I feel sorry for Beck, who has to cope with a combined total of 4 Leos!, Me, Doug, Ant and Mortimer.And that is another funny story I will tell you another time.

Blimey, this has turned into a long post! I am doing this on Tuesday night, so I can post before I go to work, and I will be back to start visiting tonight.
