WOYWW #582- A bit of Enabling Edition.

Not a huge amount happening desk wise. I do have to get some Birthday cards made, as this week is the start of the Birthday marathon amongst our family & friends. I kid you not, first one is on Thursday, after that, from Saturday on, for two whole weeks, it's at least one every single day, most of them have two!
But, the reason we are here, is our weekly visit to WOYWW, kept organised by our much loved leader, Julia, over at The Stamping Ground.
Considering how long we've all been in lockdown, I think I've been remarkably restrained with my craft enabling. I did order some stuff from Sweet Poppy - a Snowflake stencil, along with it's matching cutting die, and the one at the end is a Postbox, although that isn't actually the one I ordered, so may well be being sent back to swap for the Lamppost one I actually ordered.

My only other purchase from last week was some storage packets for my 6" square cards. I do have a pack that says they fit 6" square cards, and they do, the trouble is they don't fit a 6" envelope!
Tried these new ones and they do fit, which means the other pack are not 6" square, as it's the envelopes that are 6", not the card base.

I was MIA last week, as the day after my CT scan, I came down with a doozy of a UTI. Completely wiped me out, and took 4 days worth of anti biotics before it started to clear, so it had really got a good hold.
Kept meaning to say my bad shoulder finally healed, after realising it was down to a trapped nerve, and that sometimes I'd get no trouble all day, then get up the next morning and it was troubling me again, I came to the conclusion that maybe it had something to do with how I was sleeping. So, added a second pillow and within 3 or 4 days, it had gone completely. So thats all good now.
The CT scan I have a telephone follow up on Monday for, and I had a smashing nurse who found a compliant vein first time, so only came home with one dressing, lol.
And thats me done for this week, just leaves.....And Finally.......

I wondered where you were last week... glad you are ok now! UTIs are no fun at all. I can't sleep with only one pillow; glad it's done the trick with your shoulder. Good luck with your cards, I have 2 to make and no oomph to get on with either! Helen #?

Oh my, a UTI is just horrid, so glad you’re feeling a bit more lively. My word you have a lot of birthdays to cope with this month, I know the fortnight ends with yours, but even so..I would need to spend the whole year getting ready for this next fortnight!! Glad the CT scan follow up is happening quite quickly, hope for a nice positive phone call. I have a large supply of cello bags from Mary’s stash that don’t actually conform to envelope sizes, I can’t imagine what she used them for. It’s really annoying though isn’t it!

Oh I'm really sorry to hear you've been so poorly and am glad that you're feeling bit better now...UTIs are horrible. Yay to the nurse for getting you in one go, so to speak - let's hope for a good report back on the CT scan. The snowflake stash is very pretty indeed, bet you'll use that loads in the run-up to Chr...no, can't bring myself to say it!
And the dead flies made me lol!

Those flies are so funny. Very cleverly done.
Oops, such a lot of birthdays, hope you have a good stash of ready made ones for them all or do you sit and tailor them to each person?
Love the latest acquisitions and I can imagine you still being tempted by the post box for Christmas cards.
Hope you are feeling much better this week, we did chat about the UTI last week so fingers crossed you are well away from it now and it cannot return
Hugs, Neet xx.

Finally reading the posts and just catching up. Not sure why I have been absent, think it is just aging problems as I am doing very little art. Not that mu desk is tidy and now and again I shuffle the junk on my desk! Love the flies. You have always had an interesting desk.

Hi, Shaz!

Glad you are back and hopefully still feeling better.

The enabling sure is getting harder.

Even the crafting, now. Over 100 degrees F.
Nothing for me to post this week really. Made two more Christmas cards. Sometimes the recommended themes are troublesome!

Continue to get better and stronger!
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday!
Kathryn

HI Shaz, glad you're feeing better, it's rough having a nasty UTI. Have fun making all those birthday cards - weird how some families do seem to have them all at the same time isn't it? Hehe loving the flies!! Annie C #19

You are so busy with your projects as usual Shaz! I'm glad you managed to find some packaging that fits in the end. Bags for 6" cards should surely fit the envelopes too!

So sorry to hear you had such an awful UTI. You are probably at greater risk with a catheter. My oncologist said she was glad I was able to empty my bladder on my own (even if it's a real effort!) because she didn't want me to be catheterised for that reason. I do hope you are feeling better now - it's so miserable. I'm also very glad to hear you've sorted out the shoulder problem - what a difference it makes, getting your sleeping position correct! Long may it last. I hope the results of your CT scan are OK. My veins don't usually present a problem on such occasions but if I have to have a cannula in for any length of time (when I'm in hospital) it soon tissues over and has to be replaced and it causes no end of problems, which is why I always ask for a PICC line (which I have to fight for - but Mr. Pullan is very good about it and over-rules them all in such a charming way!!). Not sure how they'll deal with it when I have to go into Exeter - that is, if I ever get there... Still no news on that front.

Thanks for your visit, and I'm so glad you like my tiny carpets and this week's outfit. This is the only asymmetrical top I've got but I do love it! I'm appalled that they can get away with charging you for frames when you aren't buying them, but using your existing ones. That can't be right... I've never had that problem at Vision Express which is where we always go.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Shaz. Sorry I'm late - the day has been rather full of paint and phonecalls!! Yuk! UTIs are horrid. Hope you are really feeling better now and the antibiotics did their trick. I do like the snowflake and its die. I like the phonebox too, but sorry it isn't the one you ordered.
This is the third attempt to leave a comment - kept getting interrupted - but my family think your "And finally" is great - being crafty folks thy thoroughly agree!
Take care. God bless.

I'm still laughing at the fly thing - gonna steal it and send it to my hubs - he loves this sort of humour. Glad to found the culprit to your shoulder problem - I sometimes wake up with a headache and think it might be because of the way I hold my head on the pillow. Hope the UTI infection is gone now - not much fun those, are they? Thanks for your visit earlier - you always beat me to it! Have a happy week! zsuzsa #23

So pleased to hear that your shoulder is better. I ended up getting a memory pillow as I continually woke up with headache and a stiff neck. Much better with the new pillow. I can certainly relate to being a 'Beginning Crafter'. Take care and have a lovely crafty woyww, Angela x14x

Hi Shaz, sorry I'm late. Where does time go? Hope your UTI infection all cleared-- they are vile!
Take care Anne x@16

Hi Shaz, me again too! Funny about Vision Express. I think you should definitely call them out on that. It's not right to charge you for frames you are not actually buying. If they said that to me, I'd tell them where to get off and that I would take my custom elsewhere!!!

I was missing last week too, sorry to hear you've been unwell.
But SO glad to hear the shoulder is sorted, as I know how debilitating it can be. Mine has been bad for over a year now and my consultant appointment has just been changed from face to face to remote then brought forward 2 days, so next Wednesday evening. Not sure what he'll be able to ascertain over zoom! We'll see.
Thanks for the visit BJ#11

The snowflake stencil and die are love, shame they mixed up your postbox and lampost.
