WOYWW #568- The Bauble Edition

Christmas stuff on my desk again, this fortnights theme is Baubles, and I have a few leftover stencil paste & foil ones, as well as quite a pile of glittered images. No actual design ideas yet, but thought that getting them out ready on my desk might cause inspiration to strike. We can but hope. 😀 Nothing else much changed, deskwise, stack of cards waiting for inserts at the back on the left, the wallets at the front have other Christmassy bits in that may, or may not, get used.
No enabling this week either, all I've bought is a pencil case for those Zenacolor pencils, as it was getting to be a nuisance keep taking the trays out to find what I wanted. Then I thought it actually made more sense to combine both lots so I'd have all the available colours together. So that's what I did yesterday. Should work better, as strange as it may seem, the cheaper Zenacolor ones had a lot more reds, yellows and blues than the Prismacolors, although that's partly explained by the sheer quantity of greys in the Prismacolor ones, something like 20 of them whilst the Zenacolor only have half a dozen. Which means it's short and sweet from me this week. Hoping everyone is keeping well and staying safe. All good here at the moment.
And so, I shall be leaving my link over at Julias place, The Stamping Ground, as always, and I'll see you there later in the day.
Which brings us round to this weeks And Finally....................................

Pretty sure many of us will have heard a few of these in our childhood!

Morning Shaz
Glad you are both safe and well. You'll certainly be very organised come Christmas time. I bet I'm still last minute even with all this extra time.
I really laughed at those sayings, it's a generation thing but I remember most of them being said by one parent or the other.
Have a good week and take care

My youngest actually used one of those sayings to Little Soldier and then froze when she realised she was turning into mini me!!! My Mother used a lot of those sayings so I blame her!
Look forward to seeing what designs you come up with for your Christmas cards, you're so creative.
Take care and stay safe

I'm sure inspiration will strike soon with that wonderful array of baubles on your desk - they are all looking fabulous. I do love the gold ones on the black background - both stunning and classy. I had to laugh at the funny this week - yes I think we've all heard some of those - I think #4 was the one I hated the most!
Hope you have a good week,

Yes I do recognize some of these sayings. I seem to be spinning my wheels but this time of year I always feel overwhelmed with yard work. Little by little.
Happy WOYWW...stay well my friend!

I think I can relate to ost of those sayings from the past.
Your baubles look lovely which makes me want to ask the question - how many Christmas cards have you made up to now, and how many do you send out to people? Or am I being too nosey?
Thank you so much for joining in each day with the #Cheers, I so look forward to seeing your cards on Facebook and they do brighten the pages up no end. Which reminds me I am late here today but need to leave WOYWW for a short while and post a page or something up there myself.
Stay safe, well and happy the two of you

Oh my life, all of the above. It wasn’t spinach though, it was shredded wheat and I sat in front of it for four hours. It was a battle of wills more than a fear of wasted food! How did you achieve a pile of cards that big waiting for inserts? I thought you’d tackled UFOs completely. I know I hate doing them but I can’t let them build up like that, it’s like tackling the ironing after a while. Hateful but gotta be done !! Hope you’re both finding time to enjoy the lockdown situation, so glad that you haven’t had to report any illness Shaz, at least it seems to be working for you, this shielding.cant tell you how much it worried me that you’re so vulnerable, but I guess everyone that loves you will do what they have to. It’s just that I like to have control!!!!

Boy do I remember most of those mom sayings! I think I may have used some with our son. Beautiful baubles. I've been hitting Pinterest a bit hard lately but it's helped with my mojo.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Shaz, I don't think even a pile of baubles would give me inspiration to make christmas cards when the sun is shining so brightly. I recall my mum saying something similar to a few of those sayings - don't come running to me if you break your leg was one of her favourites, along with "if I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times" ... ah, I do miss her! Have a lovely week and stay safe, hugs Heather xx #28

Hi Shaz i'm looking forward to seeing what you create with those baubles, I may just sort out some Christmas things this weekend just think how great it would be to have all those cards completed before Summer time!!
Your so right about those colours, red, blue and yellow are the shades I find difficult to find my go to colours in. The more expensive sets rarely have many shades of what I call a #GOOD RED.. i'm sure I was told many years ago that red is an expensive pigment to manufacture that's probably why cheaper brands give us variations of the shade... I know Lapis Lazuli is an expensive pigment.
It's worth having many brands of these shades together because we will find our happy shade eventually. Happy colouring Shaz & take care Tracey #3

Hi Shaz, isn’t it funny the things mothers say to children, I often said “ Wagons Roll” to my children and had to explain what I meant!. I have not heard of Zenacolours before, I will have to look them up. Stay safe Angela #38

Oww... haha... the comment 'taught me to wear clean underwear' is something I heard too. Even more laughable: my dad liked to buy all kinds of underwear (fancy boxershorts and all) and they lay in the closet untill the folds didn't come out, that old they got... but still when we asked why he kept on buying these things, he always said "I may end up in the hospital, I'll give the nurse something to look at..." Thanks for your visit to my blog just now and for playing along in the 30-day music challenge, I enjoy that challenge very much too! Hug from Holland, Marit #27

Hi Shaz, yep that makes total sense to me on the pencils I have all mine in books so that I stack the books and open to the pages of blues or greens and what not for a bigger shade range. haha on the joke and I love how much sparkle the baubles have too. ~Stacy #33

I love your colourful desk today! I don't relate, however to the Hilarious Things, as my mother never said any of them to me, nor I to my DD, but I do remember hearing other mothers saying them, my SIL used to say to her kids "go outside and run the stink off" I was always so shocked! I guess I led a very sheltered life! Stay well, stay busy, and stay safe! Lindart #34

Not sure I can cope with Christmas in April!!! Love your baubles though.

Wow, Shaz, Christmas already... You'll do a great job, whatever!! Your funny this week is hilarious! No. 6 is a joke between my hubby and me. I'm always saying this to him, and warning him if he's got his vest on inside out - "in case you get run over by a bus" is our version!! I definitely remember Mum saying No 4 to me on many occasions! She also taught me some good nutritional advice once: "It's high time you settled down and got your teeth into something concrete."

Thanks for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed my pics this week. We love our umbrella! Glad you like my art too.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Shaz,

Sorry for the belated visit, it has been a busy week at work, even though I haven't left the house! I'm very impressed by the organisation and foresight that goes into making Christmas cards in April -I'm lucky if Christmas enters my consciousness by the end of November!
Thank you for the 'and finally' chuckles. Have a good week and stay well.

Those are funny LOL! So sorry I couldn't visit earlier Shaz - too much going on, which is ironic in the lockdown but still true! You're definitely ahead of the crowd in the Christmas card competition - gosh it's not even May yet! What are you going to do for the rest of the year LOL? Loving those glittery baubles! Hope you and Doug and holding up in the lockdown - stay well. xx zsuzsa #20

Hi Shaz, me again - I thought you might be interested to know that this week I decided at last to take up your suggestion to try Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White paint - it arrived today and I used it to add a few highlights to some of my little drawings. It seems to work a treat! After all these years of trying to find a white ink or paint that really stayed white, this is it!! It was expensive, but well worth it - it has great reviews and being quite thick, you can dilute it a bit with water. You need so little this way, and it's going to last for ages! I also decided to order a pot of his gold metallic, but that hasn't come yet. Thanks for the enabling!

Hugs,
Shoshi x
