WOYWW #279

I've remembered what day of the week it is this week, and am getting my post written in plenty of time! As you will see from the posts below this, I have actually managed to get my a** in gear, and get started on the C Cards. So for this weeks WOYWW, courtesy of Our Julia at The Stamping Ground, here it is, in all its mess glory.
Assorted embossing pastes and glitters, stencils and stamps. Actually doing more with the stencils at the moment, I shall swap to the stamps when I get bored with trailing glitter everywhere.

Talking of Embossing pastes, as I mentioned in one of the previous posts, my Gold embossing paste, which I've probably had for a couple of years, seems to have lost its colour, its not gold out of the pot, and it doesn't dry gold either. By contrast, I spotted some Aileenes Glitter snow on the shelf, and thought I'd try some white embossing.
I'd already opened this jar, and had closed it again with sellotape, but it is absolutely perfect. I'd rather anticipated it would be dried up, but no. The reason I am so surprised, is that I had to look at some old scans of Christmas cards to find out when I last used it. 2004! The stuff is 10 years old, and as good as the day I bought it. Hows that for value?
I have sprinkled the trees with crystal glitter, and I've also done some green ones, gold and silver.
Forgot to take a picture of the silver ones.
Final bit for today, and I'm sure it will make you laugh as much as it did me. I received this in the post, from Deb Willis during last week. She has no idea how right she is, lol. I'm not even human till after my second coffee.

What a gorgeous card from Deb. And what lovely trees you have been doing with your paste etc. Gold does go off, I have had it happen with embossing powder.
Have been keeping up to date with your London ventures, so glad your recovery is going well.

Oh I love all the versions! Amazing that product has lasted for so long - well, maybe not, as the Aleenes Tack it! I have must be 10 years old as well and it's still good as new.

Carry on Christmas crafting....

Your Christmas cards are beautiful. I have had the same jar of embossing paste for about 7 yrs, and it's still like new. The coffee card is too funny. #2

Love how the Christmas cards are turning out, I've never used embossing paste, always looks too messy for me, it would probably set my teeth on edge, lol. Love the card, looked like me early this morning, I was standing outside my front door at 6:10am in a dressing gown with my hair all wet drinking tea and watching the moon eclipse! I had my furry brown slippers on though instead of bunny ones! I've put a link on my blog of what the socks should look like when they're done, http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss14/PATTneldoreth.php I put it here so you don't have to go back.

I literally ROFL'ed at Deb's card, Shaz - what really made me roar was the fact that the picture looked just like me on the simply awful photo I've just had taken of myself for the blue badge! If that doesn't persuade them to give it to me, nothing will lol! (Actually I get one automatically because I'm on higher rate mobility DLA.) Absolutely brilliant card!!

I love your gorgeous stencilled Christmas trees with the different finishes. A while back Lindsay the Frugal Crafter did a blog post on the shelf life of the materials we use and quite a few of them don't last that long, and it was agreed that perhaps they needed to have a "use by" date on them. I've got some stuff that's donkey's years old...

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. Glad you like the masterboard. They are really fun to do. Next step to try and think how to use them! Thanks for the good tip about reducing stickiness when cutting EZ Mount Foam. The scissors are supposed to be non-stick but putting down the bits you've cut off is nigh impossible and my fingers got covered too! I've got some Crafter's Companion Stick Away spray - awesome stuff - and I had to keep stopping and using it. Mounting stamps has to be my least favourite task!

Am feeling a bit better today but need to be OK for the felt class tonight. I never seem to catch up with myself!

Happy WOYWW,

The card from Deb made me laugh. And even though I'm not much of a slipper person, I think I need to get a pair of bunny slippers like that. Beautiful cards. I love it when a product lasts beyond expectations! Pity about the gold though. Did you sprinkle glitter over it? Happy WOYWW! #62

Hi Shaz
I read your cancer page first this week, I didn't realise it was so complicated, but you know what..... you should write something for the dept.. you put it all in real term and I'm sure it would be very helpful to future sufferers so they know what to expect. Secondly ... do you get glitter in the stoma... I get it everywhere.
well done on starting your Christmas cards ... there I've said the word, I must be getting near the zone. LOL
Have a good week

The cards are really pretty - do you have glitter in your bra yet? That always signals Christmas is on its way to me!! It is such a lottery with 'product' - some of it gets the hump if you don't use it all the first week you have it and other stuff just goes on and on. Love the card! Happy WOYWW, Cindy #41 xx

Love the card, are any of us human in the morning, I don't think so Lol!
Hope you are feeling okay. Love the glittery trees. I have found with most pastes, if you put a drop of water in the tub or jar after use they tend not to dry up and when I open it I just mix it in.
Happy crafting, Angela x

Guess what! I HAVE insurance on my phone. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I went to the store. I should be getting a new phone in the mail today. Yay!!

Thank you for visiting. I always enjoy when you stop by!
