WOYWW #278

Morning folks- Its only thanks to my Bloglovin feed that I've just realised today is Wednesday, not Tuesday, lol. So, not a huge amount on my desk- some card ordered to get my C cards started, and one image stamped up that I shall be using. Probably won't be doing all my small cards the same this year, which I usually do, then get sick of the sight of them before I'm finished. Also, using a few designs should mean that more Christmas stamps get some ink on them. I bought a landscape scored version of the C5 card, so I can use envelopes I already have. Other than that, anyone seeing our FB feed, knows we spent Saturday afternoon in London, with a visit to the Tower. It actually came about because Beloved Hubby bought himself another guitar off E-bay, which was collection only, from the other side of London. And we could only collect it in the evening, so we made an early-ish start, and spent the afternoon seeing the Towers sights. Glorious weather we had too.

Doug with a Beefeater, and I got to meet the only lady Beefeater, Moira Cameron. She was the first, and still only female Beefeater.

The most important thing I wanted to see at the Tower- The Ravens, lol.  So thats a quickie from me today, I'll be confused all week now! Oh, by the way, quick update- my Chemo/Radiotherapy starts on the 21st October, and runs for 5 weeks, so should finish around the 21st November.

It's the way the weeks are shooting past - I can't keep up with it all. It's not as if I sit twiddling my thumbs, I'm usually pretty busy all day - but can I remember what it was I did? Can I heck as like!! So, I'm not surprised you forgot it was Wed - in fact, I completely get it!
Love the London pics as seen on FB...
Hope you're ok, sending hugs,

Hi Shaz. Some great pictures of you both in London - another guitar? Suggests Doug is a bit of a collector of them. But I take it he is a musician as well as a real star!
Trust all goes well with you both this week.
Take care my friend.
God bless.

Glad to see you out and about and enjoying the weather. Funny, did TOGWT have a lot of heavy metal on it? {wink} Roll on December and fingers crossed for the treatment.

Happy WOYWW!

well, you not being aware of the weekday is a sure sign that you're embedding into a home routine! How funny! Glad to see you planning Christmas cards, makes me feel less ridiculous. Although of course, you will just get on and do them whereas I, am still procrastinating!!

I really need to get busy with the C cards, fortunately I don't have very many to make because I've been so bad about sending any out over the years : ). I usually plan my outings around errands too.

Very cool you got to see the first female Beefeater. I distinctly remember asking about that when I was there in 1969 lol. Love the picture of the raven (one of my favorite birds). I'll be thinking of you during the chemo.

p.s. I added a video about the wheel if you want a gander : D.

Hi Shaz happy WOYWW. Don't those Beefeaters look great in their black and red uniforms. Gearing up for the treatment ... my SIL is just home from having her double mastectomy and tells me the last of the chemo was horrid, the surgery was a piece of cake compared to the treatment...thinking of you, hugs RobynO#40

The christmas card design looks fab - must admit I can only ever make 5 or 6 of any one design and then I get really bored. It would be so much easier if I could stick to just one or two designs.

Never knew they had a lady Beefeater - how fab - looks like you had a great day.

So I see the dreaded C word has made it to you neck of the woods too! Great day out, I haven't been to The Tower in over 10 years, didn't know there was a lady Beefeater either. Can't believe it's October already, the year is going so fast, never mind the week!

You look so great, Shaz! Having colon surgery is not the same as it was years ago. I had my first bowel resection (Crohn's Disease) back in 1982 and they kept a person flat on their back in the hospital for two weeks back then and no food for days and days. My last one was in 2007 and I was home in three days, so that's a huge improvement! (BTW, I can relate to the farting, too, as that's a problem with a Crohn's flareup. Our husbands are saints! LOL!)

There is such a great cure rate with colon cancer if you catch it early enough. I am keeping you in my prayers that your chemo/radiation goes smoothly and that that will be all you need and you'll be good to go for decades to come!! Happy WOYWW! Thanks for sharing the photos! Have a wonderful week and thank you for the visit to me!! Hugs, Darnell #23

Well I'm going to have to Google beefeater - because that sounds fascinating and they look amazing! Glad you had a great time while doing an errand. I agree, it is hard to make a lot of the same card--you really do tire of it! Have a wonderful week. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #56

Hi Shaz! Thanks for visiting my desk.
Looks like you had a great day in London. Did you go inside the tower? (Is there anything to see inside? Are the crown jewels still kept there? If they are i don't suppose they'd be on display).
That little card with the Christmas tree on it looks lovely. Stamped with white or silver ink? I've never tried to stamp on black paper but it's quite effective.
Thank you for letting me look over your shoulder. Have a good week.

I have been having trouble keeping up with what day is what ever since I had to retire. Doing better now that meds are adjusted. Sounds like an awesome day in London. I am happy to see they have a female Beefeater! Bout darn time! I tried to tell a friend how big the Ravens are and I don't think she believed me. Was happy to hear that the Chemo/Rad therapy has been scheduled. I seem to be out of touch with what is going on. It has been a hectic summer here and hopefully with fall coming on I will be able to keep up with WOYWW and friends more. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my desk earlier. Vickie #21

So you have a guitar guy, too? Our second son, he buys/sells/takes apart/repairs/builds--there's a guitar body in the dining room right now, all in parts and waiting to be painted!

Anyway, great photos of your visit. I was there years ago, sooooo many years ago. Will keep you in my prayers as you go through your chemo, modern medicine is amazing!

Happy Woyww to you!

I need to start my cards too... any day now!! I did love (as you know) all your Tower pics, having just been a few weeks ago myself! I'm sure we'll see you here again before, but I hope the chemo goes well and isn't too harrowing. xxx Helen 5

So glad you two managed to sneak away for a nice London visit in the middle of everything, and how exciting for Doug to get another guitar! I love the Beefeater photos, and had no idea there was a lady Beefeater. I shall be thinking of you as you go forward for your treatment, Shaz, and hope all goes well.

Many thanks for your lovely comment. Sory you had such a horrible experience with that drink for the scan - I hope it doesn't put you off aniseed for life! Personally I can't stand the flavour. No news from the surgery yet as to whether I can take something else other than that unspeakably awful Gaviscon lol! I don't think it can be said to be sorting my reflux if it makes me want to throw up lol!

ROFL Ambrose and the cat cave. Typical cat. I can imagine myself making a beautiful felt cat cave for each of our girls and then after all that work, have them not use them! I think they would both like them though.

So glad you like my two cards from thsi week, and also the felt. I made a sunset picture this evening at the class - blog post to follow once it's dry and I can photograph it in all its glory!

Happy WOYWW,

I'm often unaware of the day, the perils of being a SAHM! That stamp you have is indeed very similar to the one you asked me about. It will make lovely cards. I'm just transitioning into seasonal crafting at the moment, by using some of the colours and stamps that can be adapted. Got to break myself in gently! Lovely to see you looking so well in your London pics xx

Interesting visit to the Tower. Hope you can make a start on those C cards soon (I make them all year, which is why I set up a couple of challenge blogs dedicated to making C creations). Thanks for sharing. Sorry I’m late commenting. Hope that you have a lovely crafting week to come. Hazel, WOYWW #81 x

I had no idea there were ANY female beefeaters!! Gosh what is it with Ravens this week? I'm seeing them everywhere (not literally LOL), very Poe-esque. I doubt you need the stamping gears, but they are quite fun, but like a sprograph you never quite know what's gonna happen till you try it. I'll post so me pics in the week. Thanks for your earlier visit, Cindy x
