WOYWW #241

Goooood Morning everyone! Wednesday again, time to get your linking hat on and pop over to our favourite Head Desker, Julia at The Stamping Ground, for this weeks Desk Parade. Great news from Julia last week about the next crop- on my calendar for definite. So enjoyed meeting everyone last year, wouldn't miss it for the world. Had not booked our holiday last week when she gave us the date- holiday now booked for before then, lol.
I had some extra images from the two cards in the previous post, and with a bit of creative cutting, got four squares from them. And some leftover bits.

Which I decided I could maybe jazz up a bit, with some glass microbeads and  Glossy Accents, or some ink & Glossy Accents on top.

Microbeads- bought from e-bay, way cheaper than buying a branded jar, and arrived the day after I ordered them! 300gr of beads, and 5x A4 double sided adhesive sheets-£8, and free postage.

Distress Inks, Salty Ocean & Dusty Concord with Glossy Accents.

Just Glossy Accents on these four.
Which will all hopefully come together on a card at some point in the near future.

Giving the Documented Life a miss for this weeks, Use something from your mail! Probably 95% of my mail goes in the recycling, what is it with junk mail? I swear, half my bin is junk mail. Not inspiring at all. Janet, Fairythoughts, I am with you completely on this, the weekly thing just takes over, which is why I am only doing the ideas that grab me. Or that I remember to check out. So two weeks in my diary may be it, we shall see. Enjoy your week everyone, will catch up with you later.

Lovely to see how you are treating all the squares so differently. I think I have one of those jars with the bead/gel medium. Probably pushed to the back of the shelf! Have a lovely week.

In between the sneezes (hay fever from tree pollens) those tiny squares look to be a lot of work but well worth it. Dratted warm, damp weather today is just making the hay fever worse so I shall just go and get another box of tissues, before heading out to the gym. Speak to your soon. xx Maggie #24 (the same number as last week)

Love the blues and the shiny, sparkly gorgeousness! What? Me a magpie? Yeah, ok, I am ...sigh... Those miscrobeads sound fun, I know nothing about them. Do you stick them on or melt them or soemthing? I bet they'd be lovely in purple too!

Happy WOYWW. Loving those little squares. I am so impressed at the skills demonstrated. I have some gorgeous handmade envies somewhere that I received in a swap, so will do something with one on my journal (winging it!). Ali x. #47

Love your bits on the card and as for junk mail we have a sign to not get any and I view it all online through this site called Lasoo, it is wonderful. Hope you have a great crafting week.

I don't know but I think I could be inspired by junk mail. I wouldn't have nice things to say about it mind you, but I could whip up a journal page on it. I like what you are doing with your card bits. They will make some great accents on cards or projects. Judy #82

I am with you on the Documented Life journal prompt for this week. Most of my mail is junk too and gets shredded and recycled.

I love those little micro beads and have a bunch of them, thanks for the inspiration!

I loved your black and white cards and it's fun to see what else you can do with the images. Salty Ocean, what a great name for an ink colour!

I was really lucky as I got a decorated envelope in a swap last year so I chopped it into 3 to fit in my dinky DLP diary (also from the same person as an advent gift) Love what you have done with your little squares. Thanks for the visit BJ#2

Hi Shaz,

Haaa, I haven't done anything with A Document Life yet. I don't even have a photo of my front door! I agree, why not just do the weeks that you find fun!

I really like the distress inks with the glossy accents - very cool. Was that image a stamp or your zentangles? Either way it's great.

Happy belated WOYWW

Hi Shaz thanks for the tip with the microbeads use glossy accents I was wondering what to stick them down with I must make a note about that. I am so gutted that I wont be able to go to the crop in May but it's the day before DD3 gets married so guess I might have other stuff to do.... probably buying an outfit to wear hehe
have a great week

great desk this week. Love the birthday cards and then your jazzing these other squares up! I agree with you and Janet about week being taken over with projects this and that. I am starting to do what I want and not do when I don't want to! Hope you are doing okay and have a great week! Vickie #99

I'm very interested in this post, Shaz, because I've got this stamp and never thought of using it in this way! It's absolutely brilliant. At first glance, I thought they were mini-zentangles. I love what you are doing with them, and looking back at your previous post, love the birthday cards too. I have used glass bead gel medium quite a bit, and discovered how utterly gorgeous it is, spread one bead thick, onto silver mirror card.

Many thanks for your lovely comment and your kind words about Dad. Doing the album is really helping me to come to terms with his loss - he feels so close to me and doing the album, I am remembering so many happy things!

About the tape - I thought it might help some others if I offered my solution to the problem of the tape rolls sticking together. Glad you thought of the same solution - great minds think alike!!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi 61
