WOYWW #233

Well our Mistress of the Desks has been redecorating- a nice shiny new blog over at The Stamping Ground, although you may need your sunnies this dreary November morning, lol.
Not a huge amount going on on the desk, so you have 2 shots for the price of one visit today. My usual working desk:
Odds & ends abound- a dead babywipe scrunched up, a piece of kitchen roll (can you tell I didn't tidy for the photo?) a couple of acrylic blocks. Some stamps and a Versafine pad. A try-out for some scene building on scrap paper, seeing if I could mix Stampscapes & a Lavinia stamps cat. I've got a bit of a cats theme on the go this week.( Post below for glittered cats)- no not poor Ambrose, he escaped the glitter storm this time. The two black photo albums at the back hold brass stencils, 5x7, they hold larger ones easily, and I just stapled down the middle of pages to hold thinner/tall ones.

Cheap storage solution, and stops them getting bent.

The 'desk behind the desk'- the long table thats behind me, something I wanted when I put my room together, somewhere to put stamp folders when I got them out, put stuff to dry etc.
Of course, its got all sorts of other stuff on there too- glittered cats, bottom right,  easel,  Indigo Blu Christmas cards from earlier post, Distress Markers, a tub of cotton wool balls, and those little sets of plastic drawers, full of 'stuff' thats too small to store anywhere else, without losing it forever. Underneath are some 4 drawer storage ( from B&Q/Instore), they come with wheels, but I didn't put them on, that have all sorts of stuff (do you notice I have a lot of 'stuff'') I wanted close to where I work in the hope that would mean a) less searching for it and
b) it might actually get used!
So thats all for this week folks, I'm back on my much loved night shift, so I'll be seeing you all later in the day.

It all look so well organised and tidy! I wish I was! My computer is running very slow and I'm having to wait a few minutes every time I type for it to catch up! So haven't been woyww-ing or calling in, sorry! as soon as it's 'better' I'll be blogging again!
(Lyn)) happy WOYWW! #38 I think

Every desk needs a scrunched up baby wipe! We kept all ours once to do 'something' with. We never did get round to the something!

Great to have a place to put stuff when it's drying. I always seem to enclose myself with things that need drying and then I can hardly get out of my desk without stepping on something...
Happy WOYWW and I wish you a wonderful week.

I am very envious of your space - next year I must get sorted so I can craft at a table, I can't take it much more on the floor... Your storage looks great, and it's lovely to have things within reach. Have a good week. Helen 3

Hi Shaz,
That stack of cards on your desk makes me feel quite overwhelmed. So many of them.
And I never thought of using those little nut and bolt drawers for craft bits, can I extract them from the garage without OH noticing, I think not.
And I just love that cat looking into the tree, he is gorgeous.

Glittering seems to be the thing these days, we're definitely chucking all we've got at the season!! I love that you put up the behind desk as part of the plan..it really is perfect for the job. I I can't fathom in the least what the cotton wool balls could be for.

Hi Shaz
all your 'stuff' looks very organised, I say stuff a lot too. I don't remember seeing your behind desk before. your scissor holder looks really useful, did you make it?

I'm with you! My stuff needs to be nearby or I forget I have it. I don't mind opening drawers or looking in bins if they are close by. I like your stencil storage. That's a nifty idea.

Hi Shaz, late due to mouse, but I am using the new one now!
I started off with a bench, I was working on it, then wanted a table behind me to put stuff on when I got it out, ended up with office size table courtesy of DH, moved work area to there, bench became cutting area, now they are both full of "stash" so I can't move! Seriously I was tidying but more stuff piles in when I do!
I must show my stencil folder, it is similar but is just a project folder so has the pockets only, and was very cheap - cheap is good!

Hi Shaz,

Great storage idea for your stencils. I have most of mine in a box - but that wouldn't keep them from not getting bent. The black background really helps them stand out too!

Thank you for visiting me already. I'm slowly making it around.

Happy belated WOYWW

What a fantastic room you have, I'm not jealous.... much....lol You do beautiful work. Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments. Unfortunately Shaz, I get sidetracked too, a few UFO's laying about... Only because when I get an idea I have to run with it... You know how it is...Have a great week and Happy Crafting De De #16

You have an amazing craft space. I am very envious of the extra desk for your stamp binders. Mine end up balanced on piles of things on the floor and then I fall over them and it's a right mess. Trouble is I couldn't get another table in my little room.
Thanks for stopping by already.
