WOYWW 230

Well here we are again, the regular stalk around the workdesks of the world. New to this? Pop over to Auntie Julia's, at The Stamping Ground, click on Mr Linky and join the fun. And great fun it is too.
Not a lot happening on mine this week, still plodding along with the C-Cards,and I've stuck all the acrylic gems (finally, they took forever) onto my stamped image, now I've had to order some plain white card to make the bases.
All sitting in a pile, looking like a load of sparkly beer mats, lol.
Various odds & ends elsewhere, my Bamboo plant( must give it a drink), offcuts of card etc.

The new stamps at the front I couldn't resist-who in their right mind sends me an e-mail about stamps that contain a skull, and think I might not be tempted?

I really did not 'get' the whole moustache thing- they probably will never get used, but the skull & top hat? Sold, to this lady. From Stamp Addicts, by the way.
So thats my selection for you this week- and as for the cocktail stirrers, the only thing I've made with them so far is another couple of Mohito's, rofl.

Oh an early heads up- next weekend, 7th to 10th November is the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC, Birmingham. I will be going along on Saturday 9th, so if anyone else is visiting that day and would like to meet up & maybe have a coffee & chat, let me know. I do Saturday rather than Friday, as the NEC is a 20 minute drive from where we live to get there, and at least an hour on a Friday afternoon for Hubby to come & pick me up. M42 traffic is horrendous then.

That is one fun skull set! I am thinking he is a dapper skull! As for the mustache thing, I don't get it either. I have some of them in sets, and even a roll of wash tape with them on it (came in a kit). But I was asked just this week to work on a card for an Aquabats theme and had no idea what that was, but see the theme uses mustaches! So at least I can use what I have! Enjoy the week! Winnie#55

We can see the attraction of a skull stamp, although we didn't get the moustache phase either. Have fun at the show, sadly it's too far for us.

I never jumped on the mustache fad either (except sometimes I try to grow my own....eek!) but I do think your skull might look quite dashing with a 'stache on his um... face? That's definitely a fun stamp set and I can see why you'd be tempted. Your card parts do look like beer mats there. They have a lot of gems on them though. Very nice!

Robin said...

boy do I agree on the mustache think. I never "got it"...

Wow, what a lot of work getting those gems on those mats....

Have a great week Shaz! Always have fun on your site, always!

Hi Shaz
yes I wondered about the moustaches too. Love the skull with the hats, could be a challenge to use them all on one make. Love the idea of Christmas card beer mats, but not as much as I like the idea of a mojito hehe

Hi Shaz I don't get the moustache thing either. I was inspired by your start on Christmas cards and managed three for Rudolph Day :-) thanks for your help!! Don't think I'll make NEC this year - did go last. I am not far away from NEC its time I lack. Happy WOYWW Anne x #96

ha! made me laugh! blinded beer mats, they so do not look like that! you're well ahead now Shazza, good for you. great tip abput the motorway, wish I was coming up, but it's the only free weekend in November and I just cant?..how pathetic!!

Cazzy said...

Hi 0ther Shaz, did you miss me? Happy WOYWW!
I was looking at that set and thinking about it, I don't get the mustash thing either, but I now have a Tim Holtz blueprint set with one, and a movers and shapers die, and I have bought hubby a wooden glasses holder with one for Christmas! It is hidden in plain sight in my craft room, he will never spot it!

I hope I will get to the NEC one year, but it could be dangerous, I spent far too much at the little show I went to recently!

I'm impressed you are getting on with your C Cards. Do you know I was ignoring the moustache thing until I saw them on some tea shirts, I think it was in BHS and I though - well, it really must be me who is not keeping up with the trends!! I have to say I think in the long run the skull and hat will be more useful! I am coming to the NEC on Saturday with friends, would be nice to say 'hi'. I shall email me your phone no (I mean the other way round) as I'm not sure when we'll get there or where to say we'll meet as I have never been there before. Happy WOYWW Cindy #49

Totally agree - the moustache thing flummoxes me too, but I am right there with you on the skull and top hat. maybe seeing him dressed for dinner with tache in place will convince me. I will admit to smiling when I see photos of kids with a tache-on-a-stick....

:)

Busy with DS's visit yesterday so Happy (late) WOYWW!
