WOYWW #518-The Pre- Happy Stampers Edition.

Yes, and next week will be the Post Happy Stampers Edition, lol. We have our tickets ready for Saturday, and they are now all sold out. Looking forward to a catch up with Sarah, Neet & Heather, who are also going, as well as a bit of shopping. Then when we get back, I really need to get started on my ATC's. As always on a Wednesday, we are linking up at Julia's place, The Stamping Ground, for our regular desk tour.
My time is being split a little between crafting and DIY. Not huge jobs, but stuff that needs doing, as it looks like Hubby will be redundant in a few weeks, and as he's been saying we needed to start thinking about moving to a house with just one flight of stairs, rather than two, we're looking on this as the time to start seriously looking at this.  It will free us up to move to wherever he finds another job, so we will put this up for sale, and move into a private rental while we let everything pan out.
We also had Bank Holiday Monday down London, for a Gig on Monday night, so not too much time spent crafting at all.
I did do a post below this, reviewing a budget set of colouring pencils, if  anyone is interested.

The black card is finished, the red one almost. The tray of pencils is one from the budget set.

This blue one I finished off trying out the pencils for the first time.

And that, believe it or not, is it from me this week.
It just leaves us with ......And Finally.....this week theres two, as they go together so perfectly!

This is totally what laundry looks like here- I even buy Surf Washing Liquid for Black clothes far more than one for whites/colours!

And this is also true- I have at least this many pairs!

Sorry to hear about Doug's job Shaz. Hope he will find something else soon and a suitable house near by too. Good luck with moving your craft room! I read your colouring pencil review, very useful thanks. See you at Port Sunny. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Oh Shaz really sorry to hear about Doug's redundancy but good to hear you are turning that negative into a positive. It's important that you have the right home for you and now seems like the perfect opportunity. Wishing you both all the best with it all xx. Really love your cards Shaz, your making me think of Christmas designs. Happy WoywW Tracey #5
P.S Had to have a read of your pencil review, there are some cracking pencils out there but I always fall back to my lifelong friends Caran D'Ache as I've been using them since I was 7 years old and know exactly what they do, although they are a lot more expensive now :(

Argh to the redundancy, but if it pushes you into decisions that need to be made rather than put off, so be it. You two are very calm about these things and I suspect things will pan out well for you on that basis. I don’t know, two flights of stairs. We’ve only got one flight and there have been times when I’ve been defeated by just the one. Don’t rule out single level living in your search, huh. I didn’t realise Happy Stampers had a finite number of tickets, so glad that you’re all fixed up, it will be fab. Have fun and spread some hugs about for me!

Well, as we found out, as one door closes, another huge adventure opens up. Sometimes these things are just meant to be and life is truly better the other side. I'm sorry to hear about the redundancy though, was it a big surprise? I'm sure Doug will find something else really quickly, he's a great bloke!
Enjoy the show and give my love to the girls going there. Sounds like you'll have a grand day out :-D

Good luck with the house and job Shaz - as you say, it will be a good positive move for the better, I am sure. Max's house is on 3 levels and she has certainly blessed that extra set of stairs while Ben was tiny! See you soon! xx Jo

That's a lot of black leggings Shaz. Should keep you going for a while yet Never thought about the washing at yours being like the cartoon with a huge black wash pile. Our dark wash tends to be navy as Chas wears navy as you two wear black. LOL
Sorry to hear about Doug - was it expected? I do hope it did not come as a shock to you both but you have obviously given it some thought and are being positive about it. I wouldn't have a clue where to go if we decided to move areas. Will your medical needs have some bearing on where you end up?
Lovely cards Shaz, hard to see that the blue one was done using pencil crayons throughout. Brilliant pencil work again! You really have it sorted.
Hugs and take care

So sorry to hear about Doug's job, I hope he finds a good one soon - job hunting can be a difficult so I wish him all the luck in the world. It will be a great opportunity to look for your perfect place - I'm rather wishing we didn't have stairs now that the arthritis is more and more frequently reminding us both of our increasing years! I'm loving the black and red cards - that technique of yours is quite stunning.
Have a great week,

Hi Shaz. I have quite a few pairs of those black leggings too though maybe not that many. I like to have them in different lengths too. I'm sorry to hear about Doug's job but it could mean a brand you start, you just have to be positive and as they say a change is as good as a rest. I'm sure it will all turn out for the best. I did have a look at the pencils the other day but quickly so need to go back and have another nosy at them. Happy woyww and a lovely creative week too, Angela x15x

Hi Shaz,
Well, things are a-changing then for you and Doug, living on single level is great. Pray all goes well in these transitional stages.
Enjoy happy stampers and hi to WOYWWers there too, would be fun!
Love the finished card looked below too, love the funny, as I’ve purple skivvies the same and think it looks like I never change home gear much in winter!

So sorry to hear about Doug's job but you both seem to be preparing yourselves well for the changes this will bring. Having one less flight of stairs to climb can only be a bonus. I checked out your previous post and think that's an impressive set of pencils - your colouring experiments are lovely despite your claims to be no expert. I enjoyed the humour - with me, the last photo would be completely denim :) Have a great time at the weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x #27

Shaz, you will need at least two pantechnicons to move your craft room on its own. I would have a mental breakdown at the thought of moving my stuff and I know you have a lot more. Sorry Doug is losing his job. It must be a blow, although it sounds as though it might work out really well for you both in the end. Have a great time at Happy Stampede. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #24

So sorry to hear about Doug's job. Really hope he finds something soon. I am looking forward to meeting you at the crop. Thanks for visiting already and I would love to swap an ATC with you. I had a smile at the laundry image - Alex's school uniform is black so we have a lot of black washing here as well. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW and have a great week. With love and God Bless, Caro x (#17)

Hi Shaz - also sorry to read about Doug's redundancy but I am a great believer in every cloud and all that. Hope things all work out for you both. I have quite a lot of black clothing but because I try and 'hide away' and think I will be less noticeable! Got a lot of black leggings and trousers :-)

Hi Shaz, sorry to hear about Doug's job - it's never a great time (having been through it 3 times myself). Hopefully new opportunities are just round the corner! Great review on the pencils. I'm tempted ... but I already bought some others, plus I really want to conquer the Promarkers first! Thanks for stopping by earlier - I have my shopping list for Happy Stampers - looking forward to catching up with you, Sarah and Neet if she can make it! Have a lovely week Heather x #11

How nice to be so free and unattached to say "let's move!" We are a bit attached to our house, I first moved here at age 14, and now we live here in our 60's! I hope hubby gets a great new job, and that you find the perfect house. I have been experiencing the silver lining myself these past weeks of being on sick leave. Lovely cards! Have a great week, Lindart #34

I totally laughed over the pile of pants :) ( Me, I lean towards blue jeans and bare feet) so, really the only thing different between them all is the back pocket designs. and I will plead the 5th on how many there may be. thanks for the laugh Shaz. ~Stacy #31

The laundry-thing made me laugh... my beloved only wears black and that little cartoon-guy looks just like me! We even have black bedcovers! And it sounds like busy times lay ahead with a move and all... good luck with the preperations! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, I am late with my return visit so instead of happy 'Wednesday' I wish you a nice weekend! Hug from Holland, Marit #22

ooh sorry to hear about Doug's job, that's a bummer but I know what he means about the stairs-future planning and all that.
As to the black clothing and leggins-oh yes, that is ours too! I may wear a few colourful pieces but our go to colour/base colour is often black, especially band t shirts!

Good morning, Shaz. Really late getting 'round this week. Moving sounds like a grand undertaking. I do agree on the single-level home, though. As to swapping ATC's, I already had you on my list ;-) As I look at the black leggings, I thought I'd let you know that while majority are black, I have added in gray and some lovely wine colors for here at the office and a brown pair for steppin' out. LOL. I'm even contemplating getting my white jeans out for after Memorial Day and see if they still fit. Cya earlier this week. Hugs & Creative Blessings! Kel #28
