WOYWW #128

Happy Wednesday everyone! Time to saunter off to the Wonderful Miss Dunnits, for the regular Wednesday Wander.
Pictures this week are of the set of boxes I won in Craftywombles draw. They are gorgeous, with so much attention to detail, and in my favourite colour, as well.:)
On top of the smallest box, you can see the Tornado, rainbow & bridge.

Each side has wonderful vintage images of the Oz story, featuring all the characters. At this point, I have to admit that I have never seen the Movie, The Wizard of Oz. I have read the book,as a child, and remember enjoying it hugely. I also remember that the images were very similar to the ones on the boxes!  Trouble is, the film is a musical, and I really do not like musicals! I have never seen The sound of Music, either- and fully intend to live out the remainder of my life not having seen it! The only exception to my 'No Musicals' rule, was recently watching Sweeney Todd- but I could forgive Johnny Depp pretty much anything! And actually, it really wasn't bad. Anyway, a huge thank you to  Craftywomble, this really is a very special piece I am very pleased to have won. I shall be using them to store some very special treasures, I think.
Just thinking about how old the Wizard of Oz film is, what's the likelihood that someone will think its time for a full bells & whistles remake? With current CGI, I think it could actually be pretty spectacular.
Last thing on my desk this week, are some really pretty little Slide Buckles, for my Wedding Stationery samples.
I pictured them on white card, then tried them on black, as I wasn't sure which one would show up best. I really like the round ones in the top right corner, they are a pearl & rhinestone mix. Well, that me done for this week, I shall post early, and visit tonight, so have a great day everyone.

Hi Shaz back again this week, and yes really love the rhinestones and pearl buckles too.

That's one fabulous win - enjoy them, they looks just wonderful - those Oz images are gorgeous. Love the buckles too and like them on both! Thanks for sharing today, Sarah at 2.

Glad you liked them and they have gone to a good home were they will be well treasured :) I do love musicals although I have only seen the Wizard of Oz once I think - oh and Wicked which was entertaining (the show was much better than the book, so much more humour in it which was a shame as the premise for the book was inspired and held so much potential......)

What a lovely win, congrats. I am sure you will make great use of the boxes. It is lovely to hear that you don't like musicals. That makes two of us. I cringe at the thought of people acting one minute then breaking into song!!! Yes, Johnny Depp is the exception.

I know you will make very good use of those lovely boxes. I could give yo a copy of the Sound of Music to store in one of them. I, personally, love good musicals, but if we all liked the same things, life would be so boring.

Yay! Congrats, those boxes are stunning! I can't believe you've never seen The Wizard of Oz! As much as it's a musical I don't really think of it as a musical for some reason...but I guess it is! I used to be so scared as a child watching it but I loved the Good Witch...she was so beautiful!

Anyways, I love those Slide Buckles....soooooooo pretty! Sorry I'm late getting around this week! Have a great one and thanks for the peek!

Congratulations on your win. The boxes are a really fabulous win - love the images. I've never seen the film either - but then you don't have to see it to appreciate the illustrations. I don't know how you've managed to avoid the Sound of Music, it's repeated, ad nauseum, on TV every Christmas! The slide buckles are lovely. Elizabeth x #78

For being number 1 this week, I'm awfully late visiting. I'm so sorry I'm late, but, after a computer crash I had to stop by and get a bit of inspiration from your lovely boxes. After all, I live in the land of OZ (Kansas), where the movie is supposed to have taken place.

What gorgeous boxes! I spotted some similar on a website and was dropping hints to hubby about how much I would love them but at over £75 even I thought they were pricey ... these boxes have inspired me to have a go at altering some myself! Project for the new year maybe?!?!? Love Debbie x
