WOYWW #601- The After Zoom Edition.

Still nothing much happening craft-wise on my desk, so looking rather tidy apart from a few new Lavinia stamps. I almost got thrown by our recent Zoom meet, and only just realised today was Tuesday!

Still quite gutted I couldn't make it to post for week 600, but I was literally lay on the sofa, with no energy to move, from Sunday till I think, Friday. Just happy I managed to pull a bit of energy from somewhere to join the Zoom Crop. It was lovely to see so many other WOYWWers, and to 'meet' so many new faces.  So far this week I've managed to get pretty much all my Christmas Cards written, addressed and stamped, just need Beloved Hubby to drop them in a post box for me.

Sat here at the moment drinking Pineapple juice- fortunately, I love pineapple- as I'm now on a second week of antibiotics, and it's supposed to help a lot with getting rid of/preventing thrush. And hopefully a second weeks course will finally see the uti's off completely.

Next item on the desk is a new laminator. The old one had decided it wasn't going to heat up properly anymore, so, Amazon to the rescue. This one has a fast heat-up speed, a fast release button, and probably a couple of other fancy, but unnecessary bits. £23.

Popping back to the Zoom crop, I'm sat here unsure whether I should be quietly pleased with myself, or hanging my head in shame, for enabling our lovely LLJ into purchasing a Tim Holtz product! as she showed she's bought the deckle edge guillotine. I suspect it should be the latter! So, until some crafting happens, and hopefully it will in the next few days, thats me done.

Which brings us round to.......And Finally..........

Particularly apt, in light of Kirsty Allsops comment, I thought.

This did make me laugh-LLJ and Annie, I trust your hair & make up is in order, rofl.😆😆😆😆

Hi Shaz, glad to hear the antibiotics are working and hope the second course knocks things on the head properly. Great to see you Saturday -it wouldn't have been the same without you. If we do this regularly I may get a tablet so I can have it somewhere people see more than the top of my head! That funny is hilarious!! Take care. Helen #3

Hi Shaz, pleased to hear you're feeling a bit better. Great to see you on Saturday. I guess all the new stash might help a bit in cheering you up, anything popping through the letterbox or door these days makes me smile. Love the instructions from the sewing machine manual, will have to remember that. Take care and happy woyww, Angela x19x

It was so lovely to see you Saturday. I really hope you're feeling much better very soon. UTIs leave you feeling so washed out don't they? I really chuckled at your 'and finally' this week. I do my best but I do feel I'm fighting a losing battle these days :-) :-)

Hope you are beginning to feel a little better. It was nice to see you (and maybe Doug's shadow at some point? :D) and I think you should be pleased you dragged LLJ over to the dark side - if indeed papercrafting is The Dark Side, and fabric the Light... not sure I buy in to that. Curious as to how you use the laminator. I used the carts of my Xyron for making things for Maddie (like communication aids) but never crafting. Do tell.

I always heard cranberry juice was good for preventing all manner of UTI sort of problems. Never heard pineapple juice! Interesting.

I've seen that sewing meme before and it does make me smile still. Your cards do to.

big post-zoom hugs

Happy WOYWW! (WowWee!)

Hi, Shaz!

Good to properly meet you although so sorry you were so far under the weather.

I can not remember or tell what day of.the week it is either. No excuse other than retirement! Nothing is the same in my world. Used to be certain programs were on certain days on the television. That used to help mark time. Not so much now. Not even football games! They are being juggled to any day of the week due to Covid.

My cards are made but no personalization and not addressed . Soon...

Continue to rest and grow stronger.

Happy Wednesday

Kathryn

I was so happy to see your sweet face at the crop on Saturday, although I could tell you didn't feel well. I love that sewing manual. Now I want to get rid of my Singer! Pleased you are feeling a BIT better, Shaz. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Hi Shaz, glad to hear the antibiotics appear to be doing the job - hopefully the next lot will get rid of it completely. It was lovely to see you on Saturday although such a shame you were feeling so unwell - I found it all a little overwhelming especially when we went onto two pages but at least I can put faces to names now!
I really must, must have that owl stamp and the little fox - thank you so much for the enabling! I also laughed so much at the last 'and finally' - I never craft or sew without my party gear on and full slap!!
Hope you have a good week and feel a lot better soon,

Shaz, so nice to see you!!! You looked so poorly on Saturday - glad to see you're in better spirits today - you certainly managed to make me chuckle with both those funnies. We certainly missed you during #600 - so sorry to hear you were so washed out all week - hopefully, you'll be as good as new when the infection clears. Well done for getting LLJ on the dark side! Happy #601! xx zsuzsa #23

ps. Last year a bought an expensive fancy ass laminator that jammed almost instantly - Amazon took it back thank goodness and I bought a cheap one that's much better. When it comes to laminators, the simpler the better!

Ha ha - just slapped my powder and lippie on ready to go in my sewing room!!!!
If I need to do that lot first then i would never get started. I hope you are feeling a bit better Shaz - the UTI is bad enough without the problems that anti- biotics have on us. Lovely to see you on Saturday - we will have a proper celebratory "do" next year, I hope. Take care .

Shaz, it was really good to see you Saturday amidst your health! I really hope you get better soon! I am also on my second round of antibiotics for a persistent UTI! Never had one in my life and not sure where it came from, but ready for it to leave...for GOOD! LOL Blessings for your further recovery! I love those Lavinia stamps and I would love to have all the "fairies!" They are just so beautiful! What would we do without Amazon??? I'm sure they don't care as long as we keep ordering! LOL Glad you were able to acquire a new laminator however! Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia #29

So sorry to hear that you are still dealing with the effects of the UTI. I could tell you stories, but I won't!

I couldn't make the Zoom event, but I am glad you were able to muster the energy to do so. It sounds as though it was great fun!

Take care and be well,

It was so lovely to see you on Saturday, Shaz, and I sent you a message later on. That was a good price for the laminator and I’m sure it will be much used. Hipe the pineapple juice works as do the antibiotics. Keep well!

So glad your meds are working and you're coming around! Never heard of pineapple juice to help with the side effects! Good to know!
I've been debating the heat laminator, seen Jennifer McGuire on YouTube make some great things with hers.
Love the quotes! I seen the sewing one on FB and it took me back to my 7th grade home economics class.
Keep on getting well!

Hi Shaz, it was great to see you, albeit briefly, at the Crop on Saturday. I was head down concentrating on keeping my crochet in order. I definitely couldn't talk at the same time! Smaller groups wouldbe better for me. I have a list of stamps I want to buy from Lavinia, but spent this month's money on yarn for crochet, so the stamps will wait for January. I laughed out loud at the sewing funny! When my mother passed away, I had her Mrs Beetons Book of Household Management which is ancient, and full of similar tips - dealing with servants always makes me laugh. I really hope your UTI clears up before Christmas, and you can enjoy the festivities with Doug. We will see my daughters and their families on one day over the holidays - but apart from that we will be home on our own, staying safe. Have a lovely week, hugs Heather xx #17

Hi Shaz, lovely to see you on Saturday, even though you were under the weather. I’ve not heard about pineapple juice for thrush. I thought it thrived with sugar. I drink kefir every day but especially when taking antibiotics - it works for me
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Your last 'and finally' had me in hysterics. Imagine going to all that trouble just in case your husband came home. Is the author the type of woman who ears make up in bed one asks oneself.
It was good to see you Shaz but you did look washed out if you don't mind me saying so. So glad you could make it after the week you had. Not much fun having a uti as I discovered the other week but luckily I got to it before it really got hold. That on top of everything else must have taken it out of you. But you still are the same smiling Shaz thank goodness, that we all know and love.
The new laminator sounds great, but as long as my £12 one from Smiths keeps going I will pass on that one. Not so sure about the Lavinia stamps though - I have been eyeing those foxes up for a while now and can see the eagle and owl would fit in nicely with my stash.
Well, take care of yourself and don't try to do too much before Christmas.
Lots of Love to you both
Neet 8 xx

Oh you poor little pickle lately, hope the pineapple juice does the trick. Cranberry is good for the water works I've heard. I used to be bothered by thrush loads as a youngster but have since found out I have Lichen Sclerosis which is very much like thrush, so it could have been that all along. Baby soap and Aqueous cream for washing only in my case has helped. Post Menopause now and everything is so much better in that department, but don't mention the aches and pains and shoulder op etc.....Lovely to see you too and thanks for the visit BJ#21

Hi Shaz, nice tidy desk, and the new laminator looks great. I haven't got one but if I had a laser printer I'd probably get one to do foiling. Love the funnies. The second one reminded me of some marvellous tips for new brides that my hubby found once, that he used to read out at weddings. One of the tips was "When your husband returns home from work, be neat and tidy and have the house tidy and a tasty meal waiting for him. Do not regale him with tales of woe about your difficult day with the children or how hard you have worked all day, but listen patiently to him and allow him to tell you about his day. Remember that HIS TOPICS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOURS." Lol! We often quote that last bit!

It was so lovely seeing you on Zoom, and I was glad to see that you were looking quite a bit better by the afternoon one. I'm sorry you've been so poorly again. These UTIs are a continuing problem, but inevitable if you are constantly having to catheterise as there's always a risk of infection with that. Anyway I hope the latest course of antibiotics will chase this current one away and you'll be free from further ones for a good long time.

Thank you for your comment - glad you like my needle books. I think a live meeting would be a lot easier than a Zoom one because even if everyone is chatting away nineteen to the dozen, you can move around and have conversations with individuals or smaller groups. I found it quite difficult on the Zoom one because everyone was talking at once and a few people seemed to get the limelight more than others, and it was hard to get a word in. Some hardly got to speak at all. It got a bit easier once the numbers thinned out a bit. My hubby popped his head round the door a couple of times and later remarked that it was chaos - he's always on Zoom for different groups and meetings and said they were a lot more orderly!!

I can tell you exactly when it was that you came to visit us. It was in February 2015, just before I got Kermit, and I shall always remember how encouraging you were, and how helpful! I've never forgotten your generosity and it took a lot of the fear of the unknown away, and the uncertainty about what lay ahead.

Feeling rather exhausted since the weekend so I'm behind with my blog commenting!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Hugs, Shoshi x #18

Hi Shaz. I've not been blogging for a long time, so I was hoping to be able to say a heartfelt thank you for the lovely Christmas card you sent. How kind of you to remember me after all this time absent. You'll never realize just how much it meant for me to open and enjoy this card. I'm sorry to read that you've not been well recently. I hope the antibiotics will soon do the trick and you'll be back in good health in time to enjoy the holidays. Stay safe from germs as much as you can, and once more, many thank you-s for the lovely card. Hugs, Mary H.
