WOYWW #319

Right, Wednesday again then folks. If you've arrived here courtesy of Headmistress Julia, over at The Stamping Ground, then you know what all this is about. If not, then I suggest you pop over there, where all will be revealed(all in the best possible taste!)
So hows about these beauties then? Arrived yesterday, from Dolores (Cardarian). Due to all sorts of  hassles, poor Dolores has been snowed under with stuff, but has just sent me an ATC for this years swap. There was a lovely card, and the most stunningly coloured butterfly on the envelope too. I do love Dolores' use of gorgeously bold, jewel-like colours.A big thank you, Dolores, especially for taking the time when you are so busy.
Second thing on my desk, a couple of Tim Holtz books of words, for when I get into this art journalling thing.
The one at the front has slightly larger sized words, that peel and stick, and the one at the back is smaller font phrases.

A quick heads up, for anyone who has the Bird Crazy stamps from Tim Holtz. Apparently he has teamed up with Sizzix to produce a Framelits die set, however, from what I have read, it is not going to be released over here. The only way at the moment to get them, is from a supplier who has managed to get their hands on some. Currently, as far as I know, that is Jennie at The Artistic Stamper, and Susan at Countryview crafts. Both ladies are taking pre-orders, and expect the dies at the end of August.
Ok, thats my enabling done for this week, lol.
I'm still waiting to hear from the hospital, wish they'd get a move on, it's making my nerves ragged, just waiting. Every time I hear mail being delivered, I have a bit of stress. If it's there, then the waiting's over, but then again, the panicking will start. Oh well.
Finally, I want to join in with all the WOYWWers in saying how shocked and saddened I was to see Julia's post late last week, about the sudden death of Eliza. I know she was much loved by all of us who had contact with her, and of course her beloved Yoda. There really are not the right words to say to anyone, but all I can do is send my deepest condolences, and loving thoughts to her family, friends and colleagues.Especially to her Father, who has now lost a son and daughter within a few weeks. Like most of us, I knew her through WOYWW, and have many, many lovely comments on my blog from her. She was always so supportive of everyone's artform, and indeed of the issues they were writing about in their everyday lives. I know we will all miss her, and Yoda, deeply. I'm sure she loved the fact that we visited to see Yoda almost as much as to chat with her. RIP Eliza.xxxxx

Quick Edit: Finally had a letter today, I have to see the QE Surgeon on the 30th July. Have a nasty feeling now that I will be in hospital for our birthdays- that's on the 14th August, and as it's a 10-14 day stay, if I go in before it's certain I will still be in there. All I can do now is keep my fingers crossed it takes a bit longer, and I don't go in till after, lol.

It's a beautiful ATC and card! I have to admit my heart stopped for a moment when I saw the word snow... we had a terrible winter and I'm still not over it lol.

I'm pining big time for the Bird accessory stamps and the framelits.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you in regards to the hospital and all. Seriously don't forget to breathe. (I find myself sometimes with my shoulders up to my ears and barely breathing... so it's advice I have to heed as well lol).

It is really so sad about Eliza, and my heart breaks for Yoda and her family and friends.

Lovely words about Eliza...I can't believe we'll never see her desk or Yoda again.... :-(
It's a tough old time for you at the moment too...waiting is absolutely the worst bit, isn't it. I remember that well from Gordon's big op. Sending big squishies and positive vibes,

I agree: the jewel-like colours That Delores used are stunning. Beautiful work!
It has been a sad week, with the news about Eliza and her brother, and Heidi Swapp's young son.
I hate waiting! I find it incredibly difficult and frustrating. I do hope that you hear soon and can get on with what needs to be done.Hugs.

Must be awful waiting for news like that Shaz, fingers crossed it comes before too long and then you can get your head sorted out. Will be thinking of you and include you in prayer.
Just keep colouring and chilling out when you can, think of that holiday you just had and revel in the memories.

Lovely card and ATC, Shaz. I agree - the jewel colours are stunning. Also I so agree - I am shocked at the news about Eliza. You and I know only too well how precious life is, and that our respective wake-up calls have made us realise how much we should treasure what we have. I shall miss Yoda just as much as Eliza - we used to have nice cat-chat via our blogs! Sad that we won't be seeing him again.

I know so well that awful waiting, and listening for the mail... I am glad you've got an appointment at least. Maybe you won't be in for your joint birthday. I can't believe it's a year since your diagnosis. I know you are about 6 months ahead of me and I'm now at the 6-month mark! This year has flown by with all its ups and downs, hospital visits, surgery, treatments... It all takes such a long time, doesn't it.

Thank you for your lovely and completely understanding comment - you have to be a chemolite to know what it feels like, and that awful knowledge that as you start to feel better, it's only days away from feeling awful again - it's like a perpetual game of snakes and ladders!!! I'm feeling so much better today but still can't keep going for long without needing to rest.

Wishing you all the best for the coming days, and I hope the 2 of you can enjoy some quality time together before you go in for your surgery. You are so much in my mind!

Hugs,
Shoshi x

Terribly sad news about Eliza, which I only saw today as I was away at the weekend. As you say, there are no words.
Glad you've got your date to see the surgeon, hope you're not in hospital for your birthdays, though; that really would be a downer!
Am going to pre-order the bird dies, I hadn't realised they wouldn't be widely available.. off now in fact! Helen 3 xx

Firstly, you have written a beautiful tribute to Eliza, expression just how popular and lovely she was. She's been in my thoughts throughout my day. She will be missed.
Secondly, what fantastic post. I can imagine the postman smiling when delivering them. Much better than plain brown or white.
Good luck with your appointment and I hope it all works out for you as you would wish.

ooooh ((( HUGS ))) I want to say I hope you get to wait until after your birthday for surgery but, seriously if this is a need it now thing I hope you can get it done and behind you. I am deaf and I have bilateral cochlear implants so, once a year I go to a dr. about 6 hours away from my house to let them tinker with the computer programming in the processors. ( So, I am fine )
PS that ATC's colors are just gorgeous :) Thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #57

Thanks for your return visit, Shaz, and that's so funny, you thinking of chemo being like snakes and ladders too! I'm definitely feeling better now. I met up with the other 2 ladies from hospital today and we had a great chin wag. It was so great to see them again! We agreed that we all looked very well despite everything.

You keep smiling too!

Hiya, What a beautiful ATC you received and I like the Tim Holtz book of words, looks very useful. You must be feeling very frustrated by all the delays in waiting for surgery, very hard to concentrate on anything with that in the back of your mind, but am pleased you have now got another appointment, presumably with the surgeon who did not explain things very well. Hopefully this time you will be more prepared and can ask him a whole list of questions.
Thanks for dropping by my page and you nice comments.

Lol Shaz, I'm not surprised you laughed at my Kermit incident - I have laughed myself, although I didn't at the time - I told him off roundly for misbehaving so badly lol!! Glad you like the masterboard - I love that technique. Thanks for your good wishes for Friday - I just want the whole wretched business over and done with - as you warned me, the ups and downs can be very wearing - just as you start to feel better they dash you back down again. Regular snakes and ladders! Oncology appointment and bloods tomorrow. Lots to do on the home front and it's a bore when I don't feel up to doing anything at all.

What absolutely gorgeous bright colours on your post today!! Quite cheered me up just looking at them! I bet you had fun making all that colourful mess all over your desk as well as creating such fabulous little pieces. Brushos are not something I have any experience with. And yes, I know all about the state of one's hands after doing a messy job like that... Mine are usually in a bit of a state! I managed to clean all the paint off yesterday - if not, I expect the oncologist would worry that I was showing some hitherto unknown side effect of the chemo!!

Happy WOYWW,
