WOYWW - organising stuff and things edition

Another Wednesday which can only mean one thing, its time to visit our Julia at the stamping ground for another "Whats on your work desk Wednesday" So head on over the the Stamping ground for a view of some actual crafting.

As the title says, there hasn't been a lot going on, other than loads of organising, but with that said, take a look at the desk this week

Well, I take no credit for any of this little lot, we have more beautiful cards, if you look carefully in the top left hand corner, you will note I found the Sir Tim Holtz stamping platforms and dug out the large and medium one.
At front and centre we have 2 beautiful Bouquets in black and burgundy, the one on the right is Sharon's original bouquet she put together for our wedding 12 years ago now.

On the left is one that Sharon's Daughter in-law and eldest son  Anthony worked on, this is (with the exception of the ribbon)  is created with all natural materials,  so paper flowers and wooden BBQ skewers etc.

I had this vision of having Sharon cremated holding the wedding bouquet, but with what it was made from I needed a plan B as plan A wasn't happening.

So a request for a duplicate with some minor differences, a flat side so  Shaz can have it lie flat on her chest

What an incredibly amazing job they have done on them too, they even have glitter on the leaves x

I kind of also ordered a stamp too for something I want to work on, I am a noob when it comes to ordering stamps so if this is a clone or copy please let me know. Clicky me

I could have looked through all of Sharon's binders but that would have taken forever and lets face it, I am not getting any younger.

So yes, watch this space I hope ..

A cheeky shot of Sharon with one of her Granddaughters (Merlin)

And that just leaves and finally...

Wow,they certainly made a lovely job of the bouquet. That means you still have the original one to keep in your memory box. What lovely family you have around you.
What a fantastic stamp you have chosen - your trips to Port Sunny and other shows have served you well.

What a great job they did with the flowers and I like that you can keep the original - it kind of keeps that bond of you both having part of the same thing if that makes sense. Good luck with the stamping! She'd be so proud of you. As always, stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Well I think the ‘kids’ did her proud, and probably felt better for having something to contribute that would mean so much. They’ve done a fab job haven’t they. Now both you and Shaz have a set, that’s perfect! I had a quick shifty around Stamperia’s own website, and around Craftstash who hold quite a lot of their stock. Neither site shows this stamp, so I figure if you want it, you have to get it from where you can find it! It’s a fab set of words Doug.

I will second what Julia said they really have done you proud with that stunning bouquet a beautiful thought Doug. I love that Stamperia stamp set I know Shaz would have too it's perfect. That's a lovely picture of Shaz with her Grandbaby, Thank you for sharing with us all.
Take care of yourself, stay safe & strong Tracey #15 x

Are you saying that Shaz had a lot of stuff in her binders then?! Lol, that made me laugh - hope you find the stamp you want. Ant and Becky did an amazing job of the bouquet, love the colours and the fact that it had glitter on as well, I shall forever think of that as Shaz’s personal decoration. So good to have a catch up the other day, all the Appleton’s send their love to you.

Hi Doug, lovely bouquets - what a great reproduction and this way you can keep the original! Love the stamp too - very Shaz! Does this mean you're getting into crafting? Careful, it's a slippery slope and you might find it difficult to stop ordering LOL! Love the photo of Shaz with her granddaughter - that's a side of her life she didn't share too much of on her blog. Hope you're doing well. xx zsuzsa

Hello Doug, so good to see you on WOYWW today. The bouquet the kids have made is perfect, as is the original which you will now be able to keep for yourself. I'm so impressed that you are planning a stamping project but that you have found a stamp set that is so up yours and Shaz's street - oh, that your are carrying on the enabling tradition too. That's a lovely photo of Shaz and her granddaughter. Take care and stay safe. Elizabeth x #30

Doug, it's so lovely to see you on here, stepping into Shaz's shoes and joining us all on WOYWW. I think Shaz's bouquets are beautiful, both of them, and what a very touching and amazing idea to have her cremated with the stunning replica. A lovely joint effort by the family. I remember when Dad died, my hubby took a case of clothes to the funeral home. I had helped Dad buy a lovely pale green suit once with a Norfolk jacket and Mum was terribly impressed because she could never persuade him to wear anything so unconventional! I made him a dark green velvet waistcoat with a silk back and silk appliqué ivy leaves on the front, and he always wore this with the green suit. It was just so nice, and so fitting, that he should be cremated wearing them, especially as they signified such a bond between us. These things are so important, aren't they. It is so honouring.

I hope you are managing OK with all the arrangements. There's always a horrendous amount to do, and at a time when it's the last thing you want to do. My hubby was wonderful helping me with both my parents' affairs and I am sure that your family is rallying round and doing all they can to help.

Sending loads of love, and thinking of you lots.

perfect you got the No1 spot! The stamp is lovely and SO don't blame you going through the stash that would take a LONG time! So, does that mean we now have a new "enabler" in the team?! Shaz would be grinning away :-)

Great idea with the flowers too, love the idea of a flat back, will look amazing. thanks for visiting my desk already.

What a lovely bouquet and great idea. The stamp is one that Tony has been looking at - lockdown had him start art journalling - Tony style but he's enjoying it!
Hoping he will help with the technology side on Friday! Chrisx
