WOYWW #597- The Not so Tidy Edition

Yes, not quite so tidy this week, crafting has been done. Cards for the Christmas Club Challenge, using a Sweet Poppy stencil and home-made glitter stencil paste.  Mixed in some glitter to a Translucent stencil paste. Works like a dream, you get all the glitter sparkle when it dries, but absolutely no shedding. Way cheaper than buying the overpriced little pots of glitter paste too.

Talking of Sweet Poppy, stencils have been bought, lol. A set of four aperture shapes, and a lovely leafy background, should serve for this weeks enabling.

Someone asked what the deckle edge cutter looked like- it's this. Gives a sort of torn edge look to the paper/cardstock.

And back to enabling, this is actually a follow up I forgot to do. You may remember those generic tape refills for the ATG I bought a few weeks ago, from Amazon. A pack of 12 for £25.  Well, they work perfectly. Load the same as the brand name, apply just as easily, and stick perfectly well. And as they work out to around half the price of the brand name per roll, darned good value.

So thats my desk for this weeks WOYWW, courtesy as always of Julia, over at The Stamping Ground.

Which brings us round to.........And Finally....................

Can tick of pretty much all of them, apart from The Beatles. Was never a fan. Oh, and I didn't drive, lol.

And we all know the truth of this one, I'm sure.

what a great idea with the glitter/paste. If I go glittery for the Christmas cards I can't get into gear to make, I will remember (hopefully) My grandmother was never that cool, but then neither was I! take care and stay safe. Helen #4

Thanks for the tip about the glitter paste but I don't have any translucent to try. Still not really a glitter girl (slight exaggeration on the 'girl') so it does not matter. Love your mistletoe trees though.
As for the 'grandma' bit I think I can tick all the boxes.
Hope you two are safe and well

Hi Shaz. Like the trees. I do like a bit of glitter. Good tip re paste! I can tick off some on the cool grandma list.I learned to drive in a mini and had one for short time. I didn't like the Beatles either.
I am off to read your review of tape. Take care. Anne x 12

As always, adore the cards. Interesting. I used MY deckle edge cutter - it is one of about 12 edges (each a different blade pod) from a Purple Cow trimmer! Had it a very long time. And very glad you mentioned it, as the deckle edge looks very much like yours and is way nicer than I remembered! WOYWW comes thru AGAIN!!

I think I am my Grandma, according to that photo. Except my Mom insisted on making me matching short-shorts to wear under my miniskirts. I'd add Suzi Quatro to that list....

Happy WOYWW!

What a great idea adding the glitter to the ink...saves on the sparkly clean up :-)
I was never one for the mini skirts [Jo was] but I did make myself a pair of hot pants [never wore them much though] and my first car was a Mini :-)

I love the trees-I think you idea is brilliant about the paste. You started my day with a real belly laugh about the little toes-I broke my left one a few years ago during the night when it connected with the bed leh-ouch! Happy crafting.

I laughed a lot at your And Finally today, both of them! I didn’t like the Beatles much either but pretty much everything else is true ;-). What a great tip about the glitter paste, anything that sparkle but doesn’t shed everywhere is a genius idea. I do like that deckle edge, would like something like that but I don’t make cards often enough to justify getting one.

Your Christmas cards are gorgeous - what a fab stencil. I love the And Finally this week - like you I could tick them all except I wasn't a big fan of the Beatles and didn't drive!
Have a great week,

hahha! Yes...no...going through what Grandma did! Didn't smoke, yes, drove a moterbike, wore all the clothes, loved my knee high boots! I liked vodka and lime...they don't know how to serve that now. Love the stencils, I copied a recipe for the paste, haven't tried it yet!
Stay Save. Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #20

Your stencilling is flawless! It's great how the glitter works with the stencil paste. "You will never be as cool as your grandma" LOL. I guess it's difficult for youngsters to imagine that their parents/grandparents were young once too. Have a lovely week Shaz! xx zsuzsa #21

LOL'd at the little toe humour. Oh, so true! Though usually my big toe tries to muscle in on the action. Hehehehe

I love the mistletoe tree - Sweet Poppy you say? May just have to go and have a perusal. You enabler, you....

Hi Shaz. Loving the Christmas tree cards. I need to use up some old glitter as it's been in the drawer for years so maybe this could be a useful technique. I like the look of the deckle edge cutter but think I had better keep my hands in my pockets as I already have loads of cutting stuff. Now the tape thingy is interesting. I've always wanted one of these but never got round to buying one. I've always been more of a wet glue lover as early on I had a problem with some adhesive tape that gave way on a birthday card not long after I'd made it but still might look at one of these. Take care and have a lovely woyww, Angela x15x

Hi Shaz, love the stencils and you've reminded me that I have some aperture ones tucked away, never used. Must do better. I like the deckle edging - it makes a nice change and looks good too. It's a coincidence that I sent that first 'and finally' to my youngest grandson recently - he needed reminding that I wasn't always a little old lady! I was never keen on the Beatles either but loved Hendrix and The Stones. I did have to wait a few years but I did eventually own and drive a mini! Have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #32

Fab cards! Love the idea of the glitter paste. I generally color my paste with paint but I'll add some glitter next time!
Cool stencils. And I used to have a pair of deckle scissors. Hmmm... wonder if I still have it.
The quote is great! I was just a couple years after most of those but I love Tom Jones, The Animals, The Turtles, Hermans Hermits, and more!
And I had a 1960 Ford Fairlane with fins.
Have a great week!

Thanks for your earlier visit. I do like your mistletoe tree design, Shaz. And your “And finalies” made me hoot! I did all of those things. It’s a long time since I rode (pillion) on a big bike, though, and I never got to ride a Harley. Does flying a T6 Harvard count instead?
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Sorry I’m late Shaz. Love that SP stencil, a mistletoe tree with glitter..how gorgeous. Great take on the challenge. I really rather like the TH deckle edge too, that has surprised me, I thought it would be too ‘clean’ a deckle for my liking. Hmmm.

Hi Shaz, I've just discovered your unpublished comment on my blog - for which many thanks. I love Wordpress but there are some features that aren't that easy to manage, and it is over-zealous with spam checking. I've now discovered a new way of finding if anyone has been wrongly put in spam and hopefully this won't keep happening. I just have to remember to keep checking, which is not something I'm finding easy to remember! So sorry you got blocked - honestly it's nothing personal!! Wretched technology...

Anyway... glad you enjoyed the kitty memory lane section and seeing little Phoebe luxuriating in the compost heap!!

Thank you for your kind words about my bro-in-law. Still no date for the funeral. He had to have a PM and the same hospital (Exeter) that has messed me about so terribly, lost him in their famously awful system and our poor sis-in-law had to chase them up, on top of everything else she's having to deal with. Hopefully we'll get a date soon, and the govt. won't change the rules yet again and we'll all be able to attend his funeral.

Happy extremely belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #? Can't remember!!
