WOYWW #475

Well, I've been struggling to craft this week, I admit. My craft room gets really, really hot- it's in full sun for most of the day. Like being in a sauna, and I hate being that unbearably hot. I had cards to do for the Christmas Card Challenge, and like an idiot, I would decide to heat emboss in this weather, wouldn't I?

Lots of heat embossed sentiments, and then the sentiment & the matt layer were die cut.
The ones on the far left are a Spellbinders die, Lacy Squares.

This one is the Stitched Rectangle die I bought a while ago from The Works.

These are a Spellbinders die- Labels 4, in two sizes, large & small. The two sets give you a narrower border when combined.

Same die set, just a swap in the orientation.

The actual cards are in the post below, and I'll blog the making later in the week.

I'm still being good and making use of embossing folders!

I've got a few Embossed backgrounds left, and a few of the toppers too.

The only purchase this week, a box of 40 sponge daubers.

And last week I forgot my 'and finally', so here it is back..............................

Leaving my link at Julias place, The Stamping Ground. If you've not joined in with this blog hop, which we do every Wednesday, baring our desks to the world, then go along and add your link. We'd love to come and visit with you.

Morning Shaz. Took a peek below as well - those Christmas cards are beautiful - deceptively simple, but oh, so effective. Well done. A fantastic box of sponge daubers - wonderful fun you can have with those!!
I whole heartedly endorse your "and finally" - teehee
Take care, girl. God bless.

I have been recovering from jet lag and a poorly ankle this week so no crafting for me, crocheting is simply not good in the heat, lol! Love those C cards, though I do think you're mad for heat embossing in these temps, lol!!! The And Finally made me laugh :-D

Hi Shaz, laughed out loud at the 'and finally' this week; soooo me too! I've taken to crafting in the shed with the door and window open but the blinds down and curtain across the door to keep the sun out. It means it's just about bearable as my air conditioner has been moved to our bedroom for the moment. Love the variety of cards with just a splash of colour! Have a fab week. Sarah #14

My sewing room is south facing too so I’m so thankful I’ve got blinds to keep out some of the heat and big floor fans to make working in there bearable....cos I’ve had soooooo much sewing to do lately.
You’ve been very busy this week but I have a feeling heat embossing wasn’t the best choice in the heat.

You've certainly been busy, despite the hot craft room - the card toppers are gorgeous, I love the metallic backgrounds - very classy. This is the second time you've reminded me I have a drawer full of embossing folders that really don't get the use they deserve - I shall try and get them out this week, even just to look through and see what I've got!
Hope you have a great week, and thanks for the laugh at the end, I think most of us can relate to that!

That's a lot of daubers! So many lovely heat embossed sentiments etc - well done for adding to the heat of the sauna atm - loL! - although it did cool down a bit here yesterday. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good day - Hazel, WOYWW 17 x

I REALLY need to get started on some Christmas cards! Your bits and pieces are wonderful and I LOVE that poem in the 2nd picture! I just got some Christmas goodies in and need to make some cards for my August class. Great quote, too! Thanks for stopping by and hope you get a relief from the heat!

Wow - you have been busy! You will certainly be ready for Christmas! I remember a time when we didn't have AC and I would just try not to "drip" on my project! Much happier now with AC! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #33

I apologize for visiting so late. I’m having a terrible time with my internet. I’ve even called AT&T twice this morning.

You are putting those dies and the embossing folders to really good use. I love the last word. I bet a lot of us can relate.

Happy WOYWW from # 4.

I'm also struggling with the heat!
Thanks for sharing and your visit xx Jan

Hi Shaz, I sympathise with your craft room being hot. Mine gets the full glare of the sun, so much so if I leave things on the side desk they fade! I bought a tower fan, so that cools it a little, but I've taken to camping out in the garden with promarkers to get some cool breeze! Hmm, not the best time to heat emboss - you are a trooper for sure! Ok, I'm going to follow what you do with the embossed Christmas cards - I have 3 or 4 Christmas embossing folders, and a dozen or so other ones. I don't use any because I never know what to do with them! Thanks for stopping by earlier, I didn't think about using ink on the glitter card, sonething else for me to try. Have a lovely week Heather x #12

Oh my gosh Shaz, is your ‘and finally’ a direct quote from me?!!!!!! Love the christmas cards, can’t believe you put yourself through it though! That stitched rectangle die set was quite a find if you ask me, am still looking out for a set myself. I’m not struggling with the heat per se, but I’m not going out of my way to do much in hot rooms!!

Hi Shaz, well, you may be struggling to craft but you've done a helluva lot more than I have this week. That many sentiments is impressive and I love your embossed cards. They look fabulous and reminds me that I have a box of embossed toppers that need to be used. I have a few of those daubers, well actually three, and I've never seen such a big box - brilliant! Enjoyed the 'and finally' - so true, so true :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #29

Oh, Shaz, I love your ‘and finally’ this week! Great job on getting your Christmas cards done! I usually am more ahead on my cards. But with the move this year, I am behind on everything! #30

I am in awe Shaz, I do not function well in the heat ( and it will be broiled alive here tomorrow and the next day and I really need to do a few more samples) but, here it is time to cook dinner before I tried to attempt it up here. I love that you are using up the embossed panels. I am still working on hunting down names and plugging mine into evernote but, the view is not so uphill now YAY :) ~Stacy

You go heat embossing with temperatures like that... OHMY Shaz, you are one weird lady! (Have I told you lately that I love weird?!!) However, the results are great! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday - have a wonderful week and don't melt! Love from Holland, Marit #19

I love those heat embossed sentiments. I can't craft in the heat either, I'd probably drip sweat on my projects! LOL Thanks for your earlier visit. Have a great week! Dorlene #34

Such lovely crafty activity Shaz - I like the idea of embossed card. I've spent all day getting stuff ready for Saturday for Tilly. Getting excited now - see you there!!! xx Jo

Neet said...

Oh Shaz, I would have taken my stuff outside to craft under a big umbrella - well I did - but the teabags blew away three times so I gave up. But that would have been one way you might have been a bit cooler, except you can't heat emboss outside unless you have a great big extension can you? Think I am talking gibberish here. Hope you had an electric machine for all that embossing with the folders. Oh all that turning!!!
Have a good week and hopefully be a bit cooler now.
Hugs, Neet 6 xx

Hi Shaz, hehehe another great quote :o) I can relate to the problem with the hot craft room - I am crafting al fresco at the moment, or in the dining room where it's cooler, but then you have to keep running up to get something you forgot AND youhave to tidy up when you've finished!! Annie C #16

Shoshi said...

What a good idea, Shaz, to get all those sentiments and backgrounds done in advance. Then it's just an assembly job once the time comes. How very organised!! Sorry your room gets so hot. Mine is north facing so never gets direct sun but in our old house I had that problem and I couldn't stand it! I don't do too well in this heat anyway, Thank you for your vist - glad you enjoyed reading about my experiments in the kitchen. My friend was thrilled with the little heart hanging.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Shaz. I am so sorry I am so late! I went to visit Mum last Wed and then lost track! Blame it on the heat? You are so well organised! I have been crafting as I need things at the moment. Have to say though my room not been too bad. It's more I feel exhausted all the time! Anne x 28
