WOYWW #472

This week has been mainly organising, with a bit of crafting thrown in. I'm still working on those pics from last week, but as for the rest, I can't show it yet. I'm doing some Christmas Cards for the Christmas Card Club Challenge due this Sunday, and on a birthday card I've been asked to make for a friends girlfriend. So I'm afraid the organising will have to suffice. First off, I decided my inkpads needed a sort out- you'll see why that was a mammoth job in a minute.
This wooden unit was built for me by Beloved Hubby, well over 10 years ago, when I first started stamping. He built it to house my Wooden stamps back then, and it measures 31/2 feet by 3 feet.

He also built me a smaller one- 2 feet by 18 inches, to hold my inkpads.I unmounted the vast majority of my wood mounted stamps, the only ones left are the really big ones on the very top shelf. As my inkpads had outgrown their previous home, - thanks to Tim Holtz, in part, and all the colours in the Adirondack line-they took over the stamp shelves.
And yes, you are quite right- no-one needs that many inkpads. But Need is the wrong 4 letter word, it should be WANT, lol.  But I've restrained myself with the Oxides!

This is after organising. The bottom two shelves are dye inkpads.Next one up is pots of Colour Cloud inks- which I was gifted, unused, and I've yet to give them a go- then the next shelf has Staz-on/Memento & Clear embossing pads, including Versamark. I did throw out those horrible Staz-on Opaque pads. Next are pigment pads, with white inkpads on the far left. My Brilliance pigment pads are on the next shelf up, along with some tiny wood peg alpha stamps , and a few other really small stamps.Top shelf now has gesso/mixed media stuff. The Brilliance, as well as some of the pigment pads, I've had for as long as I've been stamping, and the only ones I've had to re-ink are the Encore Gold & Silver.Right underneath the bottom shelf are three Multicolour pads, and two boxes containing Cats eye pads, and the Dew drop type pads.

Then I decided I'd sort out my Embossing folders, so now I have the Christmas ones in a separate tub, so it's easier to get to the others.

Popped into Hobbycrafts on Sunday, while Hubby was in Webbs Aquatic section getting some plants for the fish tank. These box frames were half price, £3 for the smaller ones, £4 for the larger. Not a great deal of anything else though, well not to me, anyway. The papercrafting is getting smaller every time I go in, and the stamping is now almost non existent.Plenty of  stuff for other crafts though.

Had a lovely surprise delivered by the Postie this morning.

From our lovely Debbie (Tattered Rocks). She hadn't been able to join in the Birthday swap, as she hasn't been well, but sent me this.

A beautifully decorated box, containing an ATC, a little note and a bunch of blank Black ATC cards!
 She knows me so well.😏

Well thats me almost done, I'll be adding my link over at Julias place, The Stamping Ground, and I'll be seeing you all later.

And finally................................

I saw this on Facebook during the week, and it made me laugh.

Morning Shaz Bear... yes, the life of a Mama Bear sounds attractive doesn't it!! Love your re-organised shelves, they look great and boy, don't we accumulate a lot of ink pads! I probably have a similar number... no probably more! Have a great week. Helen #?

Had to laugh, and now I want to be reincarnated as a bear, too. That is TOO cute.

I like your reorganized shelves. I fear I don't remove my stamps from their wooden blocks because I'm NO GOOD at stamping. But I have very few stamps, so that's not really a problem. I don't have many ink pads at all. Maybe three or four. I DO have a lot of reinkers, and like you, keep my types, but not my brands separate. You did a great organizing makeover this week, dear. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Morning Shaz, i'm definitely getting in the Mama Bear queue!!
Love your organisation with the inks, i'm with you regarding the Need and Want words. I'm trying to take a different approach to crafting but it can be hard to restrain myself at times.
Beautiful box gift, now that's what I call *Happy Mail*

Happy WOYWW. Great organising. I have a small basket of inkpads and a slightly bigger basket of stamps, which now live in the bottom of one of the wardrobes in my craftroom. I am doing more and more digital crafting (which I can do here or in Spain), and never run out of designs/colours/fonts! I do enjoy stamping and hybrid craft though. Ali x #8

I want to be a bear too! I saw this on FB too and it makes me laugh every time. Great organisation Shaz. I have all the Adirondacks, Distress and Oxides (so far) and agree that you can never have enough ink pads. I've even got most of the Artistry inks too although my collection of Brilliance and Stazon are virtually non existent. I went for Archival instead. You are so right about Hobbycraft (at least the one at Bridgemere). The one at Stockport is a little better. Love the box that Debbie sent you. Have a great week. Sarah #19

Morning Shaz - yup! Mumma bear sounds good to me!!! I must say you have worked incredibly hard to sort all your inks. I didn't even realise there actually were that many different sorts - just goes to show how ignorant I am over these things... I like the sorting of the embossing folders too - sensible... but will I ever get around to doing anything that sensible?? Doubtful, somehow.
Take care, girl. God bless.

You have a very impressive collection of ink pads, Shaz! I certainly understand the difference between NEED and WANT. If it was on a strictly need basis, we wouldn't have anything! What a lovely box and a great gift from your friend! Have fun this week! zsuzsa #26

I had a box from Debbie too but had already written my blog and had no time to edit it - mine is paler with beautiful pastel colours, I shall share it next time! Your organisation is marvellous, I really love what you've done and have storage envy now, lol!! Those box frames are fantastic and a real bargain, shame I won't have time to get to Hobbycraft now....ah well, c'est la vie..... :-D

I’m just catching up with a few of my favourite blogs while I grab a quick coffee. It’s been a hectic morning to sat the least but I’m really buzzing.
What a clever hubby to make your shelves and what an amazing amount of stash you’ve got stored on them.
I shared that on Facebook too....I’m def coming back as a bear.

Love the mama bear quote! Also love your storage shelves - what a kind and clever hubby you have - I do like the way you colour code each ink pad so you can see by the edges what they are - mine are piled up in drawers so very difficult to get to - perhaps I need to re-think . Love the box and ATC's you were sent, what a beautiful lid.
Hope you have a great week,

Hi Shaz,
I did chuckle over the joke :) and I love that you got all the distress and oxides on the same shelf. I have noticed that some of the kits the last few years ( I dont buy many ) but, the ones I did get all came with tiny cube inkpads and those are the ones that annoy me when its time to sort them out so far I have them just by colors and nearly every time I go to use one if it s a catseye the foam falls off and I pitch it in the bin so, I figure its just a matter of time before those sort themselves out haha. ~Stacy #34

YOu DO have a lot of ink-pads... I always drool over stamps and ink pads but use them little and mostly I can resist buying them (not always though *grin*) and oh, those box-frames... a few months ago (before the move) I've been looking in all kinds of stores here in Holland 'cause I have an art piece that 'needs' to go in a box-frame, but I could not find any - while a year back you could buy them everywhere... I guess I will have to buy online but I rather 'see and feel' it first... I'll give it another try soon. Thanks for stopping by today, hope your week will be happy and filled with joy. Love that about the bear! I had heard it before, but enjoyed it again. Yep, I am gonna be a bear! :) Lovely organized stamp pads and mixed media. It is difficult to part with craft stuff, even when it isn't any good anymore! I don't know why I keep some of my stuff! LOL Have a great WOYWW! #31

What a lovely gift, and so useful and pretty all rolled into one.
That ink pad stand is fabulous! Lucky you having such a wonderful husband, and one who an make things like this too. It made me think about my inkpads and now I am going to look at my Opaque ones to see if they are worth keeping or not. I have to start cutting down on things somewhere. Glad I didn't get further than boxing up my unwanted stamps, came to need some recently and guess what - found the perfect ones in the unwanted box. Now what shall I throw out ?????

Mmmm.... a Bear actually sounds okay and I bet no-one would mess you about either. My friend was told off in the street because she slapped her little boys leg but do you know what he's grown into a really nice caring adult. The box is gorgeous Shaz. I really must get some of my stash sorted! Thanks for the visit to mine and have a very happy WOYWW, Angela x22x

Hi Shaz, I applaud your ink pad collection - it's amazing. I haven't yet bought one oxide ... I keep telling myself I have plenty as it is and I need to use all those lovely ones I have already. But doesn't it feel good to have sorted them out and tossed those horrible ones you didn't like anyway. Spotted that funny on Facebook and it made me laugh too. Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

Hi Shaz, sorry i'm a day late. Congratulations on sorting your inks out. I do have some oxides, but that's more because I'm quite a newbie compared to some, and didn't have many inks at all! I love the ATC box, I will have to have a go at something similar! It's gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by earlier, I don't have lots of promarkers (yet) but I gave to say I do like the ones I have! Have a lovely week Heather x #13

Oh Shaz, i think kI may be half bear already! How lovely that is, so much more fun than all the motivational stuff that gets posted!!
Your stamp shelf (now ink pad shelf) is a very familiar site and story. Agree about the Opaque Stazons, and did you ever try Opalites? Urgh. I remember Brilliance arriving on the market nad like you, have still got some originals in perfect inky order. Totes impressed that you’re organising. It’s all I can do to tidy up a bit!
