WOYWW #471

And another Wednesday rolls round, faster than ever it seems. Time to visit Julia at The Stamping Ground, if you're new to this, Julia has pages at the top of her blog that tell you all about this blog hop, and also all about the September crop.Despite spending the weekend at Download, I managed some crafting at long last on Tuesday, stamping onto some Brusho backgrounds I made a while ago. Which also means I'm making a dent in the UFO box, so that's a bonus.

Not totally finished yet, need to add some colour to this one, and then trim them all down. I'll probably add some foliage to them too, along the tops, after trimming.

I've used a technique with the Brushos I got from Eileen Godwin- less is more! I think I prefer that for overstamping.

We had a great weekend, and I'll put a few more photos at the end, so you can just skip those if you like.
Friday and Saturday were dull and overcast, but dry. Sunday was gloriously hot, in fact I came back with a better tan than I got from a week in the Canaries!

They have viewing platforms with seats for those that are disabled, which is great, as I'd never be able to stand all day like we have in the past.

This was Sunday, and as you can see, I needed to put my sunnies on. Just hadn't bothered yet, lol.

Quick bit of enabling next- Eclipse tape. If you've not heard of it, it's pretty much like a roll of Post It notes, but the whole sheet is lightly tacky, so you don't have to try and get as much of your image as possible onto the edge with the sticky on. It's 10 metres long, and 6" wide, and the masks are reusable, just like Post it ones, so the roll should last for years. Available from Amazon.

And finally......................

The Download pics:

Smoke rings in the sky from the pyros from the band in the first pic, Avenged Sevenfold.

The amazing Axl Rose from Guns N Roses ........

And of course Slash- the most incredible guitarist.

Morning Shaz. Well, you certainly had a great weekend - and the weather was superb - so much better than standing and sitting around in the mud!!! Those backgrounds are lovely - I like the concept - less is more!
Take care. God bless.

I have never seen the Eclipse tape, but I know someone who bought some and raves about it.

Your cards are lovely and now you know why I don't make cards!

Slash. What a revival. I realize this was probably a GNR event, but I just had to bring up my connection to these musicians. Slash left GNR to start a band called Velvet Revolver. My friend Joseph (see my right sidebar) was Scott Weiland's personal assistant until he left VR to return to Stone Temple Pilots. I haven't seen Slash since 2004. What an incredible memory you just created for me tonight. Happy WOYWW from # 6.

Magnificent use of your brusho backgrounds Shaz, they will make fabulous toppers and cards. Really glad to see Download was not another Downpour, I know lots of people that attend each year and the *what will the weather be like* question always seems to be on the tip of there tongue. Lots of happy faces this year and you will be bouncing for weeks on a high after it all.
Enjoy... festival season is upon us!!

I love your stamping - and especially your light touch with the Brusho's - the lighter colours really enhance the stamping - I am still struggling with the 'little goes a long way' concept of Brusho's and I often make one hell of a mess with them! The Green Man stamp is fantastic, and thanks for the info on Eclipse tape - I use Post It notes a lot but this looks so much better.
Looks like you had a great weekend,
Hope you have a good week,

So glad you had such a great weekend at Download and brilliant that you were able to sit and still see the action - awesome! Those Brusho colours are amazing, not too overwhelming as Diana said, and the stamps look great on top. LOVE the Green Man, he's just brilliant!
And the funny made me laugh, I think G knows better than to touch my fabric scissors for that very reason, lol :-D

Hi Shaz, hope you didn't get too sun burnt! Those stamps fit perfectly with the Brusho backgrounds; less is definitely more. I have a roll of that Eclipse tape and it's still going strong after more than ten years! Have a good week. Sarah #16

LOL at the fabric scissors - cool concert - I used to love 'guns n roses' - good to see they're still touring. Those brusho backgrounds with the stamping look very impressive and something I could try as I have all the "ingredients"! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #22

Hi Shaz, looks like a great time at Download! I like all the cards you managed to squeeze in .... but then again Lavinia Stamps are one of my favourites. Thanks for stopping by earlier, and your kind words - I also had a training session on the AED on Saturday. I think the mannequin would have survived it! Have a lovely week, hugs Heather x #15

So glad you enjoyed Download! Lovely to see the 2 of you enjoying the sunshine, and I'm glad they've got facilities for those who can't stand all day. Hope you weren't too exhausted! I love, love, love your brusho cards. I've tried doing this but compared with yours they looked a mess. I must try again... I've been using Infusions lately and my Brushos have been rather neglected! The Eclipse paper sounds a brilliant idea, like a lot of the suggestions on your blog which I never seem to get round to following up on - one day I shall have a good trawl backwards and pick up on all the tips again lol! Love the funny this week, too. Thank you for your lovely comment - yes, it was a huuuuge relief being able to retrieve all that material - I couldn't believe I could have been so stupid. It was years' worth of work... I'm doing quite well sorting it all out now but it's going to take quite a time. Glad you enjoyed the kitty videos. Loads of love to you both, Shoshi xx and happy WOYWW, #32

So glad the weather was kind to you (good in fact) at Download. Enjoyed the photos on FB as well as here - thanks for sharing.
Can attest to that sticky roll - I have had one for years - and it is still sticky. I just forget I have it at times and fiddle about with Post-Its, silly me.
Love your Brusho cards, must try that idea of LIM.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx (and thanks for the visit to me when I was otherwise occupied with visitors yesterday)

Sounds like an excellent weekend - Max and I spent the evening in the company of Lionel Richie at the footie ground last night - singing and boogieing away - fab! I love your Brusho back grounds - like little water colours I think. xx Jo
