WOYWW #464

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good day! Just a few bits and pieces going on this week:
I made some of the Mehndi Flowers and glittered them, then cut them out with the matching dies.

Just need to be layered up, then I'll do a blog post on them.

While I was at it, I used  up a load of leftover paste from another technique to make some more that I intend to do the Hot Foil laminator technique with.

They'll be die cut & layered then too. One or two may be done 'as is' , as the colours came out too nicely to cover!

I also sat and trimmed down those unmounted stamps from the grab bag. I like to have mine as close trimmed as possible, although I admit that now I have a Stamping Platform, it's no longer so critical, as any ink around the edges of a stamp no longer transfer. That's been one huge bonus with it.

Now here's a thing. I don't know it's proper name, but I'm sure LLJ and Annie (Wipso) will be able to tell us. I do know it's used for transferring pattern markings to fabric. I spotted it in my sewing box yesterday, and wondered if it would 'cut' into card, and yes it does. So you can get the 'stitched' look around pieces of card, although they are more dot like than the little slits of a die, but still decorative.

I shall do my best to visit as many people as possible, but it's going to depend on Internet access and reliability. I forgot to mention last week we are off on our holidays today, we're going to Gran Canaria for a week, so probably by the time most of you see this, we'll be up in the air!  Funny bit, the plane we are flying on is the same type the engine exploded on in the US last week!  Luckily, we have prebooked seats at the front, so we're well away from the wing area!
So that's it from me, just have a little last minute packing to finish this afternoon (Tuesday), and we will be heading off to see if we can contribute to a cocktail shortage in Spain, lol. Link yourselves up via Julia at The Stamping Ground, who it appears is also on her holibobs this week!
 And finally.....................................
....or indeed any sort of crafting products!

Love your Mehndi Flowers. Can't wait for the blog post you are proposing to do.
Safe journey, think I would be a tad nervous but the holiday sounds great so I hope you are focusing on that. Just sit back and enjoy yourselves. Have a cocktail or two and have yourselves a ball!

So that’s why he holds my hand is it? 😂😂😂😂 The tracing wheel was a real blast from the past for me....I don’t have one but remember using one at school (just a few years ago!!!). I’m sure it will make lovely stitch marks on card too.
Hope you both have a wonderful holiday and travel safely.
Hugs,

That Mehndi pattern is amazing, so much detail, makes for a great card and wouldn't it be fabulous on fabric!!! A genius invention is the stamping platform, i'm really enjoying the TH smaller size at the moment, a very handy size. Enjoy your holiday time, soak up that warm weather and look forward to seeing any crafty purchases you find whilst away.
Thank you for sharing WOYWW.

Hope the holiday goes well and you have a lovely time. loving your flower die. I can't imagine now doing stamping without the stamp positioner, so much easier to get a good result and the bad language has stopped when you don't get a perfect image straight away Lol! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x28x

Hi Shaz, I hope you are having a fabulous trip :) and those flowers look amazing. :) (and I have one of those I have no clue what its name is anymore things too tracer wheel?) but, I never really manage to push it deep enough to really see it on cardstock. probably would work better to brush some ink over the dents maybe. :) ~Stacy #26

really like those Mehndi flowers. I love al the interest in the mandalas recently. I used a tracing wheel for 'fake' stitching until I broke mine and the new ones don't have as long a tine so now I just take the thread out and set my sewing machine to what ever length I want them to be. Have a great time on your trip...I have a plane trip planned for next week and was a little anxious about it but...I am not staying home. Vickie #30

Wow, I can imagine those mandala flowers look magical in real life with all that texture and glitter. You've mastered that technique to absolute perfection! Just beautiful! Have a lovely weekend, Shaz! zsuzsa #12

These medallions are beautiful & how lucky you had the matching dies. Imagine it would take a deal of fussy cutting if you had to do it by hand. I like that you've been able to make so many pieces to layer of the intricate design too. Will look forward to seeing the hot foil techniques too. (I forget to use that machine, and I've been buying some Gina K foil mates paper). I've seen that sewing pattern tracer used on cards to create the 'stitching', although I've never tried. And your ending cartoon just made me laugh. Could apply to stamp& die shopping as well. Enjoy your vacation...hope the weather is beautiful for you. TFS
