WOYWW #426

Hello everyone, and welcome to August. Eighth month of the year. Where on earth did it all go? I've been trying to empty my UFO box this week, but not got very far yet. I got distracted. That Tim Holtz fella did a couple of live feeds last week showing off some new stuff. Yeah, he got me.

But be honest, can you blame me? These are AWESOME! Love those shaggy ravens/crows.

I also fell for a couple of new stencils, and an older one while I was at it.
There were a lot of other things, so I think I was quite restrained, in the circumstances.

I'd ordered from Art From The Heart, and what a pretty package they came in, inside a bubble wrap envelope of course.

Isn't that just a great way to package orders?

I also bought these two stamps from Bee Crafty- Love the Moon stamp, been waiting a while to get it, it sells out super fast.

All that brings me to our Thought for the Day.

And on another note, had my Oncologist appointment Tuesday afternoon. Lovely man, took to him straight away. Got a nice sense of humour. Discussing the Radiotherapy I'll be having, he's explaining that it's very new, only been in use for the last 18 months, so they are still collating data as they go on. 'I prefer to use the term Pioneer', he said, 'rather than Guinea Pig'. He's arranging a PET scan for later in the week, just to make sure there is nothing else happening, then the course of Radiotherapy. As it's a condensed form, I'll be having it 5 times, every other day, so taking just under two weeks. So at least that's sorted, and we know where we are going with it.
So, I'll be seeing you all later, have a great Wednesday.

Happy WOYWW. I am trying to avoid buying any more crafty stash. I did stop for over a year, but then went to the workshop and caught the shopping bug again. I have one parcel due from Create & Craft, and then that is it until next year! Your thought for the day for me can be adjusted to 'how on earth do I always manage to get toothpaste down my front when I am wearing a darker top??'. Do you have to travel far to the hospital? That would be a big issue for us, as it would be at least 2 hours drive each way. As I get older, I do worry about healthcare (enough depressing thoughts in my head - will go and make lunch!). Lovely new stash, Shaz! No, I don't blame you one little bit! I remember AFTH sent me the exact same packaging a couple of years ago, so they must have loads of that red tissue paper, string and metal charm! A nice little touch, isn't it? Good luck with your therapy - like the attitude of your doctor LOL! zsuzsa #22

I lol'ed at Ali's comment above...it's a good day if ANYTHING doesn't get spilled down my front. Spilling is a skill.....:-D. You were very retrained with your buying, I must say - the crows are fab, I can see why you fell for them.
I'm pleased that you struck a good rapport with the Doc...hopefully this will all be over soon and you'll be back to kicking serious butt :-D

I have had Art from the Heart parcels before and was always impressed with the packaging - I've kept the little hearts and used them on projects too! Always nice to get parcels like that through the post.

I've been out of the loop a bit lately and didn't realise you'd actually been told you'd got a met in your lung from the rectal cancer... Really sorry to hear this. I've got a friend in the USA who's a Stage 4 rectal cancer survivor (or "victor" as she calls herself!) and the prognosis is pretty good these days. Hope the radiotherapy will do the trick to mop anything up that's been left by the surgery. It's a bummer having to face further treatment when you've already been through so much, and I'm really sorry about this. I am seeing my surgeon again on 10th but not worried - last CT scans came back fine and everything looks really good. My surgeon won't operate again to do a better repair on the hernia which is a pest so we've just got to wait for it to fail properly, and I just hope it won't involve another emergency operation and a repeat performance of February.

Thank you for your lovely comment - yes our kittens are adorable - I've got little Ruby snuggled up on my tummy as I type this! She has really latched on to me and she's a proper little character!

Take care of yourself and let us know how you get on! I shall be thinking of you!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #19 xx
