WOYWW # 382

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's suddenly got mighty chilly! Straight after the first day of Autumn too. Still, a good reason to stay in the warm and craft, I reckon. Desks from around the world, in all their glory, can be seen by linking up at Julia's place, The Stamping Ground, and joining in the fun.

My desk, in all it's cluttered splendour this week. I've been making some Birthday cards, in the post below, and still have the makings for 3 more from the same stamp, bottom centre. In front of them, boxes with acrylic pearls and gems in. Just behind that, a Really Useful Box with pre cut ribbon & bow die cuts in, and next to them, another batch of Birthday card fronts waiting to get made up.
Ink pads, DST, Glue dots and Pop dots here and there. Reading glasses, vellum flowers, ruler and tweezer scissors. A bow maker- subject of the post before the Birthday Cards- pot of paintbrushes and a few other odds & sods at the far end.
My UFO box at the back is getting over full, I really should see what I can make with what's in there.

The most eagle eyed will have noticed a new tab at the top of my pages- Christmas Cards Gallery. I've been on a real roll this year, and there are some new ones in posts lower down. I've put all my Christmas Cards on this page, each has a link to the post about them. Just means people can browse the images without having to go through loads of posts.

This is the most recent batch of cards born from that jumble on the desk.

Well, still not had any appointments through, but I did phone up on Friday and chase it, so hopefully won't be long. But it does mean that we can get to The Happy Stampers Festival this weekend, which I'm really chuffed about!
We've booked a Premier Inn room for Friday night, same place we used last time which is only 5 minutes away from Hulme Hall. So we'll travel up Friday afternoon, then come back after the show on Saturday.
It's about 2 1/2 hours drive from us, so means Doug doesn't have to do it twice in one day this way.
As far as I know, other WOYWWers going are Helen (H), Neet (Hickydorums), Chris (Pearshapedcrafting) and Lisa ( Lisa's Craft Garden). Will be great fun to meet and catch up with all these lovely ladies. And of course, stuff will be purchased, which I''ll share next week, :)
Have a lovely week everyone, and I'll catch up in a while.
And finally, a funny for the day.

Thrilled that you will be able to get to Port Sunny, it will be great to see you again (and have an early sneak at your shopping!)
Hope the appointment comes through soon, you don't want to be waiting too long after all.... xx see you Saturday!

That is good news and news that is spurring me on to get myself in gear and fit enough for Saturday. So want to meet up with you two again and with Helen for the first time. Sorry about the appointment obviously but it does mean we get a meet up - I hope.
Are those stamps from my friends at Honey Doo? They remind me of their style and I love how you have done them.
Busy desk and I love that the UFO box is getting full - think I now have spread to three. Off to investigate the bowmaker.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Oh, I'm so pleased for you that you can get to the Port Sunlight show as I know how much you enjoyed the last one! It'll be like WOYWW Crop (Northern Branch)!! Have fun. Fingers crossed that you get some news of your appointment - the optimist in me hopes that, if it were something nasty, you'd have been hauled in by now? Sending hugs to you both.

Lovely floral birthday cards, Shaz! You're so good at this! Good idea to make a separate page for your gallery. I don't know why Blogger hasn't got a gallery feature where we could tile our photos linked to the appropriate posts. I use Pinterest for this purpose, but I always forget to add my new projects. The meet-up sounds lovely and it's so nice of Doug to drive you. I don't think my hubby would be up for something like that! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #22

Hello Shaz. Those are some very beautiful birthday cards you have created and your desk looks like you have been extremely busy enjoy yourself inside from the cold. Yes I do agree the colder weather has come and I am so not looking forward to the winter weather but I do have my mini heater out to take out the chili in my room when needed. I love the clear storage that holds all gems and pearls, wishing I went that route years ago as I would of been so easy to find stuff faster and not in a cardboard photo box where most days I just forget what I trully have. Thanks for the visit earlier and have a great creative week. Enjoy your weekend fun coming up.Hugs ~Anne L#7

Hi Shaz, thanks for popping over, I've just spent ages looking at all your posts and seeing how you made your latest cards, loving those embossing folders, esp the continuous swirly one. Looks great. Was tempted to go hunting for it :)
Loved your funny, I'm the biggest derailer of my thought process :)
Prayng for your appointments to be forthcoming and glad you've a fun weekend away soon,

Hope you have a wonderful time this weekend. It sounds like a fun place to be. I love your cards. They are very pretty!

It is getting chillier here - actually had a cardigan on this morning. I can tell it's getting cold - cat is sitting in front of heating registers. Funny because they are not being turned on yet!

Hope the appointments are forthcoming.

busy looking desk and the cards are wonderful. I need to find this stamp! I love the way the flowers spew forth from a central spot…good name for it…flower fountain. I pinned the tutorial on the previous post I might have to try this idea. Thanks for visiting my desk earlier and leaving such a nice comment! It really has become an embarrassment to be associated with such a racist, sexist bigot. Have a great week. VIckie #25

Glad you're able to go, but a bit frustrated for you over the appointments....am going to put them on my 'get action' wish list...it does involve a bit of NHS reaction, I must admit! Am grateful for the page of Christmas cards, how very giving you are. ThE birthday cards are lovely, I could probably make about a million from my scraps box by now. Aargh. Xxxxxxx

the derailed button made me really glad I had set my coffee down, yep its 4:12 pm as I type this and yep, at least one more will be had by me today. I love the idea of making a few of them while you have everything out. I keep telling my self that really only a handful of people look at my blog so, they wouldn't really know I had made two of a design, kwim?

Have a great trip! :) ~Stacy #45

Have a great trip away, Shaz - nice to get that one in before you have to go back into hospital. Hope you get an appointment soon - it's strange how long they are taking over this, but I suppose in a way it's reassuring that they aren't more worried about you!! Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment - I am sure you are right that they will all recognise the stomas and have a good laugh! To cheer people up and help them see the funny side of stoma life is better for me than any prizes!

Happy belated WOYWW and have a great week,
