WOYWW #378

You have no idea how close I came to missing this week. Blasted Bank Holidays. I remembered it was actually Tuesday, not Monday, about 10.30 on Tuesday night. So, as I'd been spending the day generally trying to get ready for going on holiday on Friday, and we went and posted the parcel of cards to Miss TeeJay, I was at a bit of a loss for what is actually on my desk. So, this is what had been on my desk:

A whole batch of cards made from left over fronts. The stamps are a few years old, and I'm pretty sure are not available now. It was a whole range of Christmas Trees, and the company was Butterfly Kisses. I know some of their stamps are available through Hobby Art, but I don't think these trees are among them. Actually, I just went and looked, and one of the sheets with two trees on it, and a backing is there.

This Santa stamp was  similar to a Butterfly Kisses set, but mine was originally a wood mount, I think from Stampendous. I added a few tiny stars to his beard, before matting and layering up the images. The stars are tiny, intended for nail art.
I mentioned last week that a number of Tim Holtz stencils from the new release just happened to fall into my shopping basket at Countryview Crafts, along with a couple of older ones.

There are some mini stencils, which I also got the large size of.

I have noticed lately that the name of the stencil is no longer printed on the stencil itself, but only on the packaging, hence they are written on witha Sharpie.

They spend their life suspended from a hanging rack, with a lobster claw clip.

Well, thats me done, and I'll be missing next week, as we fly off to Tenerife on Friday, until the 11th.
I'll be scheduling some posts to sppear over the next week, as I've been making some cards and if I don't do it this way, I'll forget all about them by the time we get back.

So, after my visiting today, I'll see you all in a fortnight. Link yourselves as always at our Julia's place, The Stamping Ground, and share your desk of shame!

Quick edit, I had to come and put this in. I was just doing up those scheduled posts I was talking about, and made a brilliant discovery! Quite accidental, and probably everyone already knows this, but for those like me who didn't it's awesome. I put a picture into my post, and accidentally double clicked on it. And around the picture came the typical 'free transform' box! You can now resize images to your hearts content, not just their 'small, medium, large' multiple choice.   How long has that been there, I wonder. I know someones going to come along and say 'years', lol.

Gorgeous cards and goodies! I envy your tidiness! I have my stencils all over the place and already lost several of them! They must be hiding in a stack of papers somewhere and who knows when (or if ever!) I will find them! Good that you're not tied to school holidays when going away - a few more years and we can do the same! Have a good time! zsuzsa #18

Happy WOYWW. I have started to collect stencils - joining the Monthly Stencil Club, so I get 3 sent to me each month. That is a great way of storing them. Mine are in a drawer at the moment, but then I have to rummage through them - will look to see if there is somewhere I can hang them. Enjoy your time in Tenerife - that is one Canary Island that we haven't gone to, and keep saying we will go next time, but then the flights are sold out by the time we book! Perhaps this year - we normally go abroad in December or January. Ali x #25

Those cards are beautiful - I love the simplicity of the Christmas trees, they are very elegant. I haven't yet started downsizing to the smaller stencils but I am meaning to as there are definitely a few favourites that I would like to double up on - I love the Halloween Words stencil but haven't got either yet - it's probably only a matter of time!!
Thanks so much for stopping by earlier, I hope you have a great holiday,

Hello Shaz. Your cards are just so stunning and wow so many you have made. The Sanata ones are so pretty love the detail of the stamp you have used and the stars are the added touch of magic he brings. Those are some great new stencils you had fall in to your shopping cart and hanging them to be so easy to see is genius. Thanks for visiting and leaving me such a sweet comment and later today I will be cleaning my room from top to bottom once I get the last layout done. Have a great trip Hugs ~Anne L#3

they are going to be so excited to receive your cards :) love the idea of hanging all the stencils too. they have to be one of the things that makes you take more time to put them away after than a lot of tools. love those minis ~Stacy #37

Hi Shaz, I love all those Christmas cards and I really must start mine. I knew you would enjoy seeing the Steampunk photos. It is every year or at least it has been for the last 8 years though I am embarrassed to say that I only found out about it four years ago. They have changed the date and for the last two years it has been over the Bank Holiday from Friday to Monday. There's lots of evening stuff going on like Burlesque but you really have to book early to get in them, still there is plenty to see even if you only go up to the Cathedral and Castle which is where most of them hang out. Have a great woyww, Angela x 11

Good idea to hang the stencils like that :) I've also used nail art thingies! They're great for ATCs. That's a good collection of cards you've made.
Maybe I'll put some snow (in Australia) photos up next week :)
Thanks for dropping by earlier too.

Thanks for popping in to visit my post, Shaz. I have adopted the principle that if I have to walk through the dining room, I have to sort one bag or box, remove and deal with the resulting rubbish. Anything still good but unwanted goes into a box to be passed on, and what is left gets put away. It is, sort of, working. Have a great holiday. See you when you get back. xxx Maggie

awesome lot of cards. I love the different trees! I noticed that with the stencils also and they aren't putting the lot number on them anymore either. I am writing them in with a sharpie also. I don't like change so this really has been an irritation to me. I haven't been able to find the mini stencils anywhere either…grumpf! I know I am a grouch today. Hope you have a great week.
