WOYWW #338

Hello again, and here we are, all linking up with Julia at The Stamping Ground, to continue our weekly round of desk surfing around the world. As we are almost at the end of November, I think it is now acceptable to talk about Christmas cards in polite company. At the NEC a few weeks ago, I saw a great card, made with the stamp on the right of this picture, called Pear Square.
It was heat embossed in gold on black card, then matted onto white, then black, and finally onto a white card base. Looked lovely. So hence I bought the stamp. And beloved Hubby liked the other one, so got that as well.

So out came the black card I ordered last week. Along with a Gold Encore Pigment pad, last used back at the dawn of time, and amazingly, still nice and juicy, although I do have a re-inker, it wasn't needed. Gold detail embossing powder, and a little anti static thingy supposed to help the EP to only stick where its supposed to.

I've only got one stamped, as I wanted to make sure it was going to stamp and emboss nice and clearly, especially the script detail. But it's looking good, so tomorrow I will matt it all up, and see if I still like it.I hope I do, as I haven't actually got a plan B organised yet.
So, fairly short and sweet for once- have I been swapped by body snatchers, I wonder. Unlikely, nobody would want this particular body, I'm pretty sure, lol. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone, I'll be round to visit in a while.

Love that you're up top sitting and stamping awhile, that's amazing progress. It is a lovely stamp..lucky you have detail powder though, the regular stuff would fill the text on those solid pears. But wither way, I think it will look good...love me some fruit on a stamp!

Looking good, hope you got the year-old pieces (that were out last week) done already?!? Embossing still feels like magic, as the powder melts...
Happy crafting :)

I like that stamp and gold embossing is always very classy. I am busy putting together parchment bits onto cards or canvas boards for some of my Christmas offerings. Then, I want to try my new initial stamps with gold mica on the black Clarity cards. Maria was doing some lovely designs with them at the show. Have a good week. xxx Maggie #18

It's looking good Shaz. Gold on black always looks classy doesn't it and you've embossed it beautifully. Pigment inks were all we used at one time weren't they. I had loads very unloved and gave most away but have just rediscovered them again too. The ones I had left were in a sorry state, the felt had disintegrated so I think I need to treat myself to some new ones.
Thanks for visiting earlier. Yes the poppy is an inkylicious one I've just bought along with a few others. I love their stamps and they are so reasonable.
Have a good week

Lovely stamps, Shaz. I can see why you both liked them so much. Look forward to seeing the finished card - surely you will still like it as much now as the one that tempted you into your purchase. Thanks again for your good wishes for my daughter. I love your grandchildren's unusual names. My granddaughter has given all three of her children unusual names - and they are all lovely. Just as well I can make gifts & cards that are personalised for them. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #31

PS: Juli has been deaf since birth (and probably before if the truth were known)so hearing is going to be quite a shock to her system but she's game for it.

I love pears, so I love both sets, and I can't wait to see the other all done up. So glad I'm not the only one without a Plan B: even though that should be my standard operating procedure as I find I'm dropping back to punt so often! (ie the 2 cards on mine; so not what they were meant to be! LOL!) Have a great week.
