WOYWW #269

Happy Wednesday! A pic of the 'desk behind the desk' today, as it was a bit of a mess, lol. Where I tend to dump stuff before I get around to putting it away.
This weeks Show and Tell, for our lovely leader, Julia over at The Stamping Ground, for our weekly snoop into the craft desks of the world.
I will tell you in advance that I won't be getting around to any desks before tomorrow, as today is my eldest sons 40th Birthday, and we will be going to see him when we get up.Which explains the odd Facebook profile picture, for those who know me on there. Actually, you can see it in my FB badge on the right hand side. Everyone who knows him is changing their profile pic to that picture of Ant for the day, which I know he will find highly amusing.
A little bit of blatant enabling now, and I just know that these new stamps I bought (who, me?) will grab some of you as total 'must-haves'.
Aren't they fabulous? There are a few more in the set, another couple of word stamps, a male and female profile, a pair of eyes. They are called INKCOGNITO, the latest addition to the Visible Image range, and the two word stamps are going to get a lot of use, I know.

I have to ask, but am I the only one who keeps the sheets of acetate that cling stamps come on?  I even keep the little square ones from the freebie Craft Stamper stamps! The usual excuse applies, of course- they will come in useful one day/ I have a project in mind I can use them for.

A quick look at the finished Wedding cards I was assembling last week:
The desk behind the desk after I'd tidied:

The squares of Cut n Dry foam have been stuck onto a sheet of felt, and were under the glass cutting mat to stick down- I'd forgotten I'd put them there. Need to cut them up now, for the blending tools.

And lastly, the original picture from my background:
I should have posted this up last week, as most of the picture is hidden by my ramblings.
I may have another attempt at linking from my smartphone, last week was an epic fail. Smartphone, Dumbuser, lol.
So have a wonderful week everyone, I'll be seeing you tomorrow.

Nice new stamps I love the look of the sentiments ones with the florishes added in and look forward to seeing what you create with them
Elegant cards and I keep some of my acetate that comes with my stamps I use them for shaker cards or stamp inks on them to colour with I don't have that many left.

hullo Shaz.. ah hear from your later hope one and all have great day for his 40th.. and do agree the stamps are really lovely well done..
I actually keep my stamps in the bags with their acetates on - replace them after use - categorised in drawers .. unmounted ones are in folder but clear ones are in their sleeves.. dont have as many as you so it works well.

Happy birthday to your son, the facebook picture is a fabulous idea! LOVE your new stamps. And I hoard packaging to the point that family thinks I buy for that rather than the products lol. I love making little embellishments with scraps (rather than put the scraps away) I just pop them into a little bag and there they are tidy and together until than are needed. Looking forward to seeing what you make with yours. #37

Hi Shaz, the wedding cards are really lovely and I must say I keep the hard plastic packaging from the spellbinder dies..makes great paint palettes and flexible funnels for beads and button. Cheer, happy WOYWW and have a lovely week and birthday celebrations RobynO#29

If I had a separate table on which to dump stuff...the piles would be teetering! I love the new VI..specially the 'moments' words..so yes, I'm probably enabled. Your fault remember! The wedding cards are delicious, well done...specially on the inclusion of names...that always makes me nervous!

Gorgeous stamps, bet you'll have fun with those.
Of course I keep anything that could be recycled but there is only so much room and you have to remember to use them or why keep them, says someone who usually forgets she's saved them anyway LOL!
Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #38

You are going to have fun with those new goodies, Shaz. I am busy with Cut and Dry foam but for a different purpose - making purpose created ink pads for particular stamps. That is fun and so effective. The silly thing is that the instructions, or something close to it, are on the back of the packet. I am still on Cloud 9 after the Retreat, although, like most of the others, I am so tired after it that I barely know my own name, never mind what day it is. Have a good day and don't work too hard. xx Maggie @32

Those stamps are great. And your desk is wonderfully creative looking.

I save the plastic too, and have used it on several projects. My favorite is to die cut shapes like flowers & leaves, color with alcohol inks, then shape by heating with an embossing gun. I made a pretty spring wreath that way.

Happy Woyww,

I totally toss the plastic sheets that come with the clear or cling stamps. I used to save them thinking I would use them for something. I have seen them die cut and done up with acrylic paint but then I'd have to buy acrylic paint and... yeah, I just decided to toss them. The wedding cards came out fabulous. Neat idea to show the before and after shot of your desk.

Beautiful cards and beautiful stamps, Shaz. Congratulations to your son on his 40th. I've had quite a week of it, being admitted to hospital on Sun. a.m. with severe chest pains. After lots of investigations I've now been sent home and all is well, although I've suffered a cardiac event - full details on my blog. Can't wait to feel myself again (I'm wiped out!) and get creating again.

So many lovely things to look at this week! Happy Birthday to your son -- hope you had a nice visit. The word stamps, particularly, are great -- I definitely need some big sentiment stamps -- I have tons of wimpy boring small ones that don't float my boat much anymore. The wedding cards are utterly gorgeous! It's amusing that the bride's name is the same on both -- it could make one think that there is only one Magdalena and she was waiting until the last minute to decide who would be her groom! Forgive my silliness -- hope both weddings were grand. Happy WOYWW. ~ Laura #60

Shaz, thanks for visiting, that sunset card was done with an Indigo blu stamp, heat embossed and then just distress inks, but I am very pleased with it.

I did save the acetate once and had a big pile then decided I wan't using it so stopped saving it. I still have a few bits I use as palettes for makers and inks etc, you know the drill. By now your celebrations would be over I do hope they went well. Those cards are so beautiful everything about them is just perfect. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Thanks for popping by my blog earlier Shaz and SO sorry it has taken me until now to return the visit ... worth popping back here though just to see THOSE stamps again!!!! Apologies for causing you to utter the "C" word ... I aim to start my "C" word crafting after our annual holiday (get home mid-October) but always run out of time and end up stressing so really need to start NOW - just to much other stuff going on to even think about it yet though. Am hoping my new stamps and dies make for some really quick "C" word decorations/stocking fillers ... time will tell!!! Love Debbie xXx
