WOYWW #266

All I seem to do is comment on how fast this year is going- seems like a couple of weeks ago I was amazed we were in June already, now that's gone and we're into July. This is the mad season for birthdays here, between now and the middle of August, there really is a stupid amount. I put it down to everyone wanting to be a Leo, lol.  First up is Granddaughter Merlin, next Monday, 11 this year. Nannys little Mini Me, :). So she's getting 'clothes like Nanny would wear'.  There has been some crafting, one project I can't share, the other is the Alcohol inks on Mirror card posted below- so if you've got that stuff and no idea what to use it for these days, give it a go. The colour depth is amazing, really jewel like, and the pictures don't do it justice.
I mentioned that Visible Image were at a craft shop near me recently, so I went along.

And there I am in the background, browsing.

Did a bit of shopping whilst I was there, well it would have been rude not to, wouldn't it? The ladies in the foreground had been in Marks workshop, using the 'Revolution' set, which is on my table.

As well as a few more VI stamps, they had a sale on their Indigo Blu stamps, 50% off. They didn't have many left (probably a good thing) so I only bagged a couple I didn't have.

A Sweet Poppy stencil, of thistles, and a book. Oh, and I see a Lavinia Stamps Bunnies stamp, one I've been meaning to get for ages.
So I think that's me done for this week, our Chief of Desks, Julia, otherwise known as The Birthday Girl for this week, is over at The Stamping Ground, waiting for your links. I'll be visiting later, so have a good day everyone.

You're one of those people I rely on to sell me the VI stamps once you've used them..they tend to do nothing for me till I see how fabulously you do something! I love the idea of the mini me clothes, how fun..she'll love it!

I scrolled down further to see how you created the alcohol ink on the mirror cards. I HAVE to try that! Fun seeing a glimpse of you today! Maybe we should all have a week where we have a picture of ourselves sitting at our work desks so we can see what everyone looks like.

HA! Trust you to figure out a way to make what I normally think of as "ugly card" and turn it into something stunning. That blue and purple one below is a stunna! Twinkles like stars. Might have t hunt some up. I missed VI at Newbury, apparently they got let down by childcare at the last minute. Shame, I do like their stamps. Ah well, maybe next year....

:)

Happy WOYWW!

Hi Shaz,
Been a few weeks since I've joined in, and when I do get back in the saddle there YOU area with all those gorgeous stamps! What luck you had to get them at a good price.

Your backgrounds are stunning, love alcohol inks. Seems to be the "new" old thing coming back around. Even Julia had some on her desk this week.

Have a great one

Those coloured sheets re really something, aren't they - even in a photo it is possible to see how great they would look in real life. Well done. Sounds like a good time was had in the craft shop!!

I have some of that annoying blinding mirror paper. I'll have to suggest alcohol inks to the lady who agreed to take it off my hands (before I went blind). I love inked and embossed pieces. How nice to see you in action, shopping at the store. Of course it would be rude to not pick something up when you're there.

Birthdays in our family are all in the spring, so I know what a busy time you are experiencing! I love the effect of alcohol inks on mirror card. If you buff it with the finest emery paper you can lay hands on, you can remove the ink from the embossing and this looks amazing! Use anything too coarse and the silver you expose won't be mirror finish any more.

Lol at your comment, Shaz! Yes, we do load our desks down with all sorts of stuff when we are working! Each page I do of my album I seem to get out another type of gel medium, and they don't get put away again! I also laughed at what you said about the diet - I'm going to end up looking like a stick insect with a huge bump on the front, and another huge bump on the back lol!! This diet really works, though.

Not having a great week. Mum admitted to hospital yesterday with a TIA and I am totally exhausted after spending hours in noisy A&E and putting up with her constant moaning and rudeness... She's home now. I need a rest!

Happy belated WOYWW,
