WOYWW #255

Well I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break- we had two days off, Mon and today, which was cool. Writing this Tuesday evening, to schedule, as I will be asleep in  the morning, lol.Got some crafting done, which are in the last few posts. A card and a tag using a couple of the Molly images I coloured, and then some cards using a technique called Northern Lights, in the posts below. So as of today, Tuesday, my desk is looking remarkably tidy. I do have a pic to show you of some purchases on Saturday, from The Works. Worth popping in, in you have one near you. The two square Papermania Urban stamps were £1.49 each, the clear one was 99p.The alcohol marker pens are 99p each too- they had about 8 colours, including a blender pen.  I got a black, as you can never have too many black pens (did I say that?) , a red, a skin colour and a blender.  And now they have a loyalty card- like I really need another one of those. Does anyone NOT do a loyalty card now? I've ended up with so many, I had to buy one of those little credit card wallets for my bag. Mind you, the amount of times I visit them, its probably a good thing.
Just to prove that tidy is not my natural state, here is a pic from yesterday:
The images you can see on the left are the Northern Lights technique- its awesome, and so easy. I also seem to have an interesting looking background appearing on my scrap pad- another reason I prefer to work on paper rather than a craft sheet. So thats my show and tell for our Leader of the Desking Pack, Julia, over at The Stamping Ground.

You can get some awesome backgrounds from a blending mat too, Shaz. and even more from the Gelli Plate. By the way, are those black pens to go with all the Thank You stamps you have? Speak to you soon. xx Maggie

It is amazing how guilty we all feel about our lack of tidy. All that childhood drilling of tidy. Hard on us natural untidies. We don't even get a name tag like OCD. You know the tidy's spend as much time tidying as we do " looking for" so what the hell

Looks like your hit pay dirt...boy some really wonderful finds! That's California gold speak for... "You struck gold!" I had to giggle when you showed your yesterday desk. Mine could have been a twin. I made a birthday card and my room was a mess! Thankfully I have 2 working spaces and sometimes that's not enough!

Ooh yeah, am liking the scrap paper too! we aren't near a The works, but those collage style stamps are a bit scarey for me so I prolly wouldn't even have noticed them!! sand I agree...you can't have too many black pens, assorted nibs, all permanent would be best!!

I love the Northern Lights technique - must have a play with that, as well as a visit to The Works! Stop leading me astray LOL!! Have a good week, Chris # 19 xx

Your scrap paper will make an awesome background! In fact, I thought that's just what you'd been making, lol - I didn't realise it was just the paper underneath!!
The Works is such a great shop, there's one in Salisbury. I have to restrain myself when I'm in there :-)
Hugs, LLJ 14 xx

Great desk with lots of colour, Shaz. I've just visited your other two posts about the amazing Northern Lights technique. Beautiful!

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. So glad you like my new ARTHaven! I don't always get to photograph so much of it. It's pure heaven to work in!!!!!

As for the kitties, they are little terrors. I used to have one who could smell bacon through 4 layers of polythene, the innermost one being vaccuum packed. And when you think you are safe because they are asleep upstairs, that's the worst time! I'm not surprised yours could smell the cheese from 2 floors up!

I'll get to play with my new sewing machine soon enough. Got to get the mini album done first!

Happy WOYWW,

After my spending at the NEC, I need to save up again, so I shall miss out on what The Works has to offer. I shall definitely be sticking to Derwent products in future. In my opinion, the Spectrums are nowhere near as good. Thanks for your lovely comments today about my trip away with the caravan. xx Maggie #10

I love the Works, you can get some great buys, I got some alphabet stamps last month for just over a £1. Great technique on your stampscapes, must give it a go. Thanks for the earlier visit, Donna #26

I've found great stuff at The Works too. We should clearly set up a support group for people who overspend on craft items. My local one has just renovated and moved all that sort of stuff to right near the door. But I had no idea they had markers. Good to know and thanks for the heads up.

Shaz I am so jealous...such gorgeous stamps and alcohol markers and for so cheap...Oz needs that store to open here! Your scenic cards and the ones where you have done the northern lights tech are gorgeous!

Hi Shaz and thanks for popping by my desk earlier - Sophie just is truly such a happy girl. Your desk just looks busy like you're enjoying yourself but I tell you the northern lights card is really cool, might have to try that one. And I miffed why we don't have the cool shops you have overseas - I've never seen fabulous cheap stamps like yours and pens... :-( oh well Cheers and have a great week Robyn#18

You have some beautiful stamps on your desk. I'd certainly use them if I were a stamper. And bargains are what all us craters are looking for. You got them, too. Thanks for visiting me earlier. WOYWW wishes from # 9.

I don't know why people worry so much about a messy desk, just think how sad it would be to see one that never got messy lol!

What great bargains you got! I agree about the loyalty cards. They come and go. Nowadays at least a lot of places will let you use your phone number rather than carry around a card so that is nice. Love the looks of the northern lights card. Even the scrap paper left over from making it is really cool. Pretty colors! Thanks for the visit earlier. I did tidy my desk and that got the mojo going. I did have to sit there and move stuff back and forth for about 30 minutes first though.

Fabulous bargains! I really am loving this Northern Lights technique you are using - as you know I can't comment very well sometimes so hence I'm late again! Good Grief it's nearly Wednesday again! Hugs, Chris 67
