WOYWW #217

Another week, and month, been & gone.Time for this weeks Virtual World Tour, courtesy of our Amazing Hostess, Julia, at The Stamping Ground. So, whats to show this week? Firstly, my desk- I admit, slightly tidied, so I could take the pictures that follow it.
4.30 on Tuesday afternoon, and a bit of summer sun through the window- not as much as the last few weeks, but sun nevertheless. Top right, the remnants of the weekends play with acrylic block stamping,(posted lower down) lower left, assorted tags, both finished & blank, a watercolour pad I was using for the stamping, and an assortment of stamped images for cards- waiting for some inspiration on being put together.
The Poe card for my son got finished, and is in the post below this one.

Got some Happy Mail last week, first one from Deeyll, aka Queen Lightwell, a WOYWW ATC swap. It arrived too late for me to put it in last weeks, Love the colours & layout, but especially the sentiment: Be the Best You that You can be.Gorgeous little fabric flowers included too- saving those for something special. Thanks Deeyll, I really appreciate it.

Second was a purchase. I had my eye on these as soon as I heard about them- Distress Markers in the 'limited edition' colours. As the first lot of markers took so long to get over here, I wasn't expecting to get them yet, so it was a nice surprise to get a promo e-mail from  Jennie, The Artistic Stamper, with them on. And a Summer Discount code too!

A heads-up here to everyone who has the Distress Markers- I noticed this label stuck on the side of the new pack.
I distinctly remember watching Tim's CHA video at the first launch, when he said it didn't matter how they were stored, upright was fine, thats why they came in that container. It seems like that has changed, and it DOES matter! Haven't seen anyone commenting anywhere about problems, but I'm guessing that one end or other is drying out. So, if you've got the DI markers, best get them lay down comfy somewhere.
Still loving my night shift, not having any problems sleeping during the day either. I think maybe the mornings have been the coolest part of the day recently. You can tell how well we sleep- yesterday(Monday) apparently we had thunderstorms all morning- never heard a sound, lol. Scheduling this for early morning, and I shall link up as soon as I get home. Have a great week everyone.

Curiously Shaz have Tombows water-based markers rather like these since early 1990 none ever dried out, and still going strong always stored this way ie on side same for glimmer mists and cosmic shimmer, not doing woyww, not 100%, love Shaz.xx

I don't have those markers yet, but do have promarkers, and the most annoying part is having to store them flat! Must find a better storage system than the one I currently have!

Hi Shaz, Happy WOYWW. I love that sentiment as well and that's a really pretty swap. I had heard that about distress markers but don't have any myself. I didn't know promarkers were supposed to store flat(see comment below) I have mine upright but as I rarely use the big end I don't suppose I would notice if it dried out. Time sure does fly quickly doesn't it, it always seems to be Wednesday!!?

I only have a couple of those Markers and I used them but actually thought I used them to much/wrongly as they seem to have dryed out rather fast! Now I know why!! I bought them separately/single and I never saw a label!!! Ah well now I know and I shall have to let the shop know as they store them upright!!

I store most of my pens flat, these days, but we need to educate your daughter-in-law. while she was helping me to clear space, she put mine standing up. As far as sleeping in concerned, I had my best night's sleep last night after Spidergate, must have been the shock that did it. Have a good sleep. xx Maggie #48

Fab buys, I've not got DM's but guess storing them flat is the way to go like all the other pens. That's how I store all of mine. Take care my friend, stay cool. Zo xx 77

Hi Shaz,
I finally changed my marker to horizontal storage, the packaging is correct. After awhile on end of my markers did dry out....live and learn for me. Love the ATC.

I store all my pens and pencils horizontally - I only have a few water based markers and don't use them that often. Lovely stuff you were sent! Exquisite work.

Thanks for your lovely comment - I agree, it's always better to measure up first! Saves a lot of energy. I said to Andy, our builder, the other day, "Measure twice, cut once." He said, "I keep cutting bits off the long end, and it's still too short" Lol!!

Not long till the move now, but we've hit a bit of a problem with the timing - hoping it can be resolved.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Shaz! Happy belated WOYWW. I am a little behind in getting around to visit. I didn't know about the distress markers. Oh how fun. I know with my paint markers/brushes they have to lay on their sides also. And what a beautiful card from Queen Lightwell! So colorful and happy. Glad your new work hours are working out for you. I can't do the graveyard shift! Have a wonderful rest of the WOYWW week! Rasz #142

Well, I guess I do like to be last in all things! Running soooo late this week but I still wanted to get a comment/visit in here and pass on my thanks for your comment and visit...glad you are enjoying/like the ATC and trimmings I sent. I really struggled because I noticed from your blog that you make such beautifully colorful stuff and I wanted the ATC I made for you to reflect that association I have in my mind of you and color...so I'm very glad you liked it! :) Okay, I have a few other visits I've been negligent in returning so I gotta run before it's Wednesday, AGAIN! It comes so fast, yes? :) Deeyll
