WOYWW #194

First post since last week- the week sort of got away from me, lol. Valentines day,for one, and then helping youngest son find & fetch another car. He had someone hit the back of his car a couple of weeks ago while he was on his way to work .Spun his car round and into the barrier, he was on the M42. Fortunately, he works nights, and its not as busy as it would have been during the day. Apart from being shaken up, he was ok, but it turned out the car was a write -off.

Just grateful that he was ok, it could have been a lot worse. The lady in the car closest to him saw what happened & stopped to help, and fortuitously  she was a nurse- unfortunately, the same spirit wasn't in the person who hit him, as they didn't stop.
But he's got another one now, the same sort & colour too. So doing that took up Thursday & Friday, then Saturday we took my Mom to put flowers on my youngest brothers grave, as it would be his birthday this week, and finally an engagement party on Saturday evening- the work colleague I made the Engagement card for a few weeks ago. Sunday morning I had booked ( like Beloved Hubby), for a hangover, lol! Amazingly, I didn't wake up with one, which sort of confused me :).Anyway, this post is getting away from me too now, so why are we here? WOYWW, of course, hosted as ever by our marvellous Julia at The Stamping Ground.
My desk for this week, then. On the way back from my Moms, in Droitwich, we called in at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold, where they have a Hobbycrafts. The three wooden words are a very thin plywood as opposed to the usual MDF,- the DREAM word is 81/2" long, and they are very light, you would even be able to attch these to a canvas. Hmm, now theres a thought! They have a lot of other words too. Best part? £1 each!
A little bag of  plywood alphabet tags fell in the basket too. The other bits are some black & white flowers I've just made, sitting for the glue to dry, and with the black & white card & paper are for a wedding card. I'm on afternoons this week, so I shall be able to join up earlier- have a great week.

Oh my goodness, so good to hear that your Son is OK, much better that the car was hurt rather than him - how awful to cause an accident though and not stop! It does make you wonder.

Hope you get some crafty time soon. Have a happy WOYWW, Anne x #37

Glad to know your son is ok. Love the plywood words and I think they will lend themselves to a canvas beautifully.

Ohooo dear, not nice having a prang! Some one took the bumper off my daughters car, she was stopped, but some how the insurers say it's her fault! I have those die cuts coloured and glittered somewhere, have to hunt them out! Thank you for my snoop around your crafty corner. HaPpY WoYwW!

So glad your son came out of that wreck in one piece and is okay ... hope the wretch that hit and run is having sleepless nights at the very least!!! Love the words and the price - those I have seen have been bigger and pricier. Have a happy WOYWW. Elizabeth x #58

OO Webbs of Wychbold - that's not too far from me. Those plywood words are great for £1 each. Look forward to seeing what you make with them. Glad your son is ok - my daughter had a similar experience last year and it puts years on you!! K x

So glad your son wasn't hurt and that someone was there to assist him. I don't know what is wrong with people to hit and run and leave the scene instead of offering help. Your flowers are lovely, can't wait to see what you do with them. Loving the thin wooden words. I bet you can get a lot of use from them without the extra weight. Have a great week! Thanks for the visit! Winnie#93

So sorry to hear about your son, glad he was ok though and that is the main thing.

It makes your blood run cold when something like that happens to your son...brrrrr, shivers....am glad he was ok though.
I love the way things just leapt into your basket in Hobbycraft! Do you think they make special magnetised baskets that magically attract things to them ;) I only ask because I think I've carried around baskets like that myself once of twice...or maybe more .....
Are you any good at computer techno stuff (I'm pants) because I think we need a No Pinners button for the sidebar of our blogs and for any other rebel sewist who cares to join our renegade little band of sewing anarchists!! Lol! Please say you can... :)

What a week - glad your son is unhurt but I'll be he'll be a bit nervous for a while. Mr Moonshine and I were at Webbs on Monday but I managed to avoid sneaking in to Hobbycraft - bit of a miracle really! Looking forward to seeing what you create with your goodies. Hope you have a better week. MM x #101

Mikey's car certainly looks very much the worse for wear. Better the car than him, though. Tell Doug not to worry too much about H&S - the stuff on the very top is also very light, so it won't do too much harm if it gets blown off. You are lucky getting over to Hobbycraft. I shall have to wait for next week at least. Then I can finish sorting the stamps into their own boxes. Still keeping our fingers crossed for Christmas at the weekend, they did mention snow flurries today. Glad we've got heated seats to snuggle into. See you soon. xx Maggie

Thank goodness your son is ok and it's just the car! Don't know what it is with Hobbycraft shops but they seem to stock loads of things you don't really need but seem to end up back on the old work desk! Have fun, Chris141

So sorry to hear of your son's nasty accident and the wretch that hit and drove away who possible didn't have any insurance! Hope the boys in blue catch him sometime soon.

sorry to hear about your son's mishap and that he wasn't injured...same thing happened to my sister in law a few years back and she had to go through treatment for whiplash. Luckily the hit and run driver was apprehended! I haven't seen the lighter weight words around here but then I haven't been looking. Going out tomorrow so will look then. Thanks for visiting my desk and leaving love! Vickie 328
